this is how new yorkers @ mamdani
I’ve been trying to share this since I found out. They are moving onto harassing people in Memphis.
Community members face retaliation for trying to spread the word out, a lawsuit alleges.
Everyone was lovely in getting the word out about Chicago and Minnesota. I want to spread that awareness for folk in tennessee.
As a principled feminist I'm often tempted to say shit like "are men capable of higher thought" but then I have to remember not to perpetuate gender essentialism and change it to "why do men choose not to think about anything"
looked up russians vs japanese piracy twt beef and its worse than i thought😭 it all started with japanese users being mad at discovering there's all those unofficial russian manga reading sites. russians tell them that there's not much licensed manga in russia to consume legally in the first place. japanese say its your problem, you should then go to japan and buy it legally. russians obviously go ??? it's crazy expensive to fly to japan plus we're sanctioned and often can't purchase foreign things with our money. japanese go full russophobia and say ahhh you evil aggressors deserve it for war. russians answer that even before the war this wouldn't be a solution. then brazilians join russians to fight on the side of piracy and started gotcha japanese with their war crimes and xenophobia. then other japanese users joined on the side of piracy and said anti-piracy japanese are hypocrites because its common in japan to listen to pirated western music. i guess this made japanese anti-piracy people even madder and they went all in saying crazy stuff like comparing piracy to rape. the more hilarious example was one japanese user trying to gotcha russians by threatening to pirate and read... dostoevsky🤣 sums up their level of ignorance regarding this whole topic.
oh shit it’s darkiplier!!!! save me secretary of defense james mattis!

my friend's discord server has a "proof of touch grass" channel where they post pics of them doing regular activities outdoors/in public. i think many online spaces could benefit from such a thing
when i was super depressed - like struggling to eat anything barely able to get out of bed to pee depressed - my good friend asked me every day to send her a picture of me holding a leaf and a picture of a meal i was eating and it helped me significantly
(also, she was never judgey - if my meal was a single potato chip she would simply say good job eating a potato chip today <3 )
which is to say, i agree proof of touch grass is a good idea for online spaces
This kinda required my brain a bit

Timeline of Gavis Bettel in the Tumblr Sexy Jester poll bracket
March 31
Tumblr user @sexy-people-contests-2026 posts the first round of their tumblr sexy jester/clown poll bracket. Entries were collected via community form, in which a user submitted vtuber Gavis Bettel.
April 3
Cover Corporation (parent company of Hololive Production) announces that they are downsizing their male vtuber branch, Holostars. Company support is almost entirely pulled from their 12 Japanese talents. Fans of their 10 English talents worry that they could be next on the chopping block. A larger discussion on how these talents are marketed by the company also begins.
April 7
Bettel wins his first round against Laughing Jack and moves onto the next round. In this next match up he is put against Shadow Milk Cookie from Cookie Run Kingdom.
April 8
Gavis Bettel hits 200k subscribers on YouTube.
April 9
Twitter users are made aware of the poll. Users start coming back to their old tumblr accounts or create new ones to start voting for Bettel.
April 10
Bettel becomes aware of the poll.
He also becomes a popular pick for people who are mad at the writing decisions made in Cookie Run Kingdom.
People also start making joke ship art between Bettel and Shadow Milk (bettelmilk)
April 15
Bettel wins the second round and moves on to round three.
In this round he is put against Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus.
He talks about the poll bracket on his Week in Review stream and admits he has never used tumblr. Viewers inform him of classic tumblr memes and stories. He also asks the social media team from Bandai Namco America (they often appear in his chat) to get on their defunct tumblr to vote for him (they can't access the account).
April 18
Bettel has an unarchieved karaoke stream to celebrate 200k subscribers, the runner of the of the polls tunes in.
April 19
The official Holostars EN twitter and Instagram accounts make ominous posts about the poll since they are unable to directly link to it due to company policy.
April 20-21
Bettel makes one last rallying cry to see if he can get people to vote for him. He receives endorsements from other vtubers including Elira Pendora, Shu Yamino, and Yu Q. Wilson.
The illustrator for his vtuber model, Senzaki Makoto, also becomes aware of the poll and says she will draw him if he wins the bracket.
April 22
With a rally of support from across the vtuber fan sphere, Bettel is able to beat Pomni.
Fans jokingly say that this poll bracket has done more for advertising Bettel than his company has and also joke that it could save Holostars from further budget cuts. In the semi-final round he is against April from Monster Prom. The poll will end April 29.
Reblogging to confirm that I am/was a part of the Great Bettelion Domination of 2026, this WILL go in the history books, people shall talk about this for generations about the victories and conquests of our lord and savior Gratuitous Bibliothèque.

Shell-Nesting Mason Bees: these bees build their nests in empty snail shells, using crushed leaves and soil to form the inner brood chambers and then sealing the entrance with debris
Bees of the family Megachilidae typically build their nests in the gaps and crevices in tree stumps, rocks, plant stems, and wooden structures, but there are a few species that prefer to nest in discarded snail shells. These shell-nesting bees are primarily found in Europe, North Africa, and the Near East; a few can also be found in North America, South Africa, and Japan.
Above: just some cozy little mason bees
These are solitary bees, meaning that they don't form colonies or live together in hives, and each female builds her own individual nest. The nest is constructed as a series of brood cells, and each cell contains a single egg with enough pollen and nectar to sustain the larva until it reaches adulthood.
Shell-nesting mason bees are known to exist in at least four different genera, including Osmia, Rhodanthidium, Wainia, and Protosmia.
Above: Osmia spinulosa and Rhodanthidium septemdentatum, both of which build their nests in snail shells
When the female is ready to nest, she carefully selects a shell and then drags it into a shaded or well-hidden spot. Moving the shell is no easy feat, but she clings to it with her hind legs and pulls herself along by grabbing objects with her mandibles. A single bee may travel like that for several meters before finally settling on the right spot to prepare her nest.
Above: a mason bee dragging her shell into position
This article describes how the nest is then constructed:
The bee begins to build its nest, mainly within the “whorl” or spire of the shell. A typical nest consists of a few chambers (about two or four in number, depending on the size of the shell) known as cells, the walls of which consist of masticated leaf pulp known as leaf mastic. When fresh, the colour of this material is bright green, but with time, it assumes a brownish or black colour. Each cell is provisioned with a mixture of pollen and nectar, an egg is laid on this, and the cell sealed with further leaf mastic.
The female must make dozens of trips just to gather the provisions for a single brood cell, and completing the entire nest can take days.
Above: the the internal structure of this nest is partially exposed, revealing a central brood cell, a single larva, a supply of pollen/nectar, and several layers of debris
Once the brood chambers have been constructed and provisioned, the entrance to the shell is "bricked up" with several layers of plant pulp, soil, pebbles, and shell fragments. In some cases, the female will also apply patches of plant pulp to the outer surface of the shell as a way to provide camouflage.
Above: mason bees sealing their nests with plant pulp
The completed nest is then carefully maneuvered so that the entrance faces the ground. Some females will conceal the entire nest beneath a pile of twigs, pine needles, and plant stems. Moss and blades of grass are also woven throughout the pile. All of the debris is carefully selected, positioned, and then "glued" together with saliva, forming a tangled, tent-like structure over the nest.
Above: Osmia bicolor, commonly known as the red-tailed mason bee. constructing a protective thatch over her nest
In other cases, the female will conceal the nest by creating a small hole in the sand and then dragging the shell into it, ensuring that the nest is partially buried.
Above: Osmia aurulenta and Osmia rufohirta
This is just one of the many peculiar nesting habits that can be found among solitary bees. Several other examples have been featured in my previous posts, which describe the nest-building strategies of woolcarder bees, resin-pot bees, and a ground-dwelling species known as Osmia avosetta.
