what caused you to switch to krita?
mostly hardware stuff actually, ive had a great drawing tablet for ages (if youre interested, an xppen innovator 16, its good but cables bug out a lot) but i always found my ipad waaaay more comfortable, especially for rendering - i prefer very simple, straightforward programs that feel good to use. however. i mentioned this before but my apple pen SUCKS. it has been pretty broken for years and has only gotten worse, and i dont want to spend the money to replace it. recently is when its gotten truly unbearable, so i was a little bit forced to make the switch.
there are other bonuses though, particularly references, on an ipad id never use them cause they take up too much screen space and that really bothered me, now with 2 monitors and pureref its much easier and it has made my art better too. also, it just generally feels more professional. i intend to draw as a job (if anyonell hire me lol) and it be expected to use drawing tablets in my work flow, so its good to get used to it now.
finally, if youre curious why krita specifically - thats very simple. i use linux (endeavour, arch based) and setting up clip studio on it is AWFUL... but i have actually found it much easier to get used to than clip studio which always felt a little strange. maybe just because ive spent so long customising my workspace.
despite all the "because i had no other choice" factors, i am very happy as i am and its definitely an improvement for me in every front.
oh yea, last thing, this is what my setup looks like !! doesnt that just make you wanna use it? <3
thanks for the ask!!

repost so you can see them next to each other better, i do regret not making these simultaneously/side by side so the colours are more similar (as i knew i would) but aaaaaaawell

not sure how i feel about this one, but maybe ive just been staring at it too long
what brushes do you use for your digital art? :3
depends on the program! i used to use procreate, where i used bubba’s manga brush or the default bruny brush for lighter sketches, and fish’s sketchy block brush for everything else
but now ive been using krita for my most recent arts, where i use the default sketching-2-chrome large (glass pen) and bristles-4 glaze (paintbrush)
i do find rendering easier when im working with a lighter pencily sketch though, so i might change sketch brushes soon hmmm
generally my only requirments are something i have fun using on sketches (and preferably with a very traditional feel), and something rectangular with pressure based opacity for rendering, preferably with a little texture too :33
thanks for the question!
perspective studies, these took longer than i thought so no pt 2 of yesterdays piece yet rip
if you want a handy perspective reference board heres mine https://pin.it/5BqSZZyFj i tried to have a mix of art/photographs urban/rural easy/hard so may be useful :3 (also note some 2 point perspective is technically 3 point but its so subtle it doesnt matter etc)

Me: "Damn people are REALLY BAD at knowing when to tag their eyestrain art/images...either that or they just don't care about photosenitive epileptic people like me. I feel really sad now." Person: "But Allison, what if they just don't know or understand what qualifies as eyestrain and what doesn't?" Me: "You know what? That could be a factor...While it is always better to be safe rather than sorry (so YES people should always tag eyestrain even if they're unsure if it "counts" or not) maybe you've got a point?"
Anyways! HERE'S YOUR HANDY GUIDE TO WHAT CAN COUNT AS EYESTRAIN! I'm pulling this straight from the Artfight rules page about what needs to be labeled and filtered as eyestrain because it's VERY helpful and VERY accurate! I also know not everybody has an AF account and might not always have access to this handy guide, and this is an important resource; That's why I'm sharing it here! (under the cut)
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHERS!!!
gouache attempt no.2.. more qifrey… as per usually i considered quitting art forever several times while making this and as per usual i did not
there were two really minute details that were really bothering me so rest assured this gross misconduct has been resolved
