Long time, no post, tumblr. I didn’t get to walk at graduation, so I made animated me do it. He’s just pixels, so he can’t catch viruses. :-)

South Minneapolis is full of houses that look like they leapt out of a Ghibli movie. Never trim your plants, Minnesota, I live for it.

I don’t know if anyone’s interested in my process, but here’s what I usually do

1. one - many sketches (if I’m super inspired it’s one, but usually I do a few)

2. Lineart. I use a calligraphy brush or Kyle T Webster’s stuff.

3. Flat colors. I flip back and forth from a black layer on color to see how my contrast is.

4. Shadows. I use a dark purple/pink or blue on multiply and 20~ opacity.

5. Extra shadows.

6. Extras. I’ll add some lighting on opacity or brighten and do some background stuff.
