I’m sure everyone remembers that Bakugou and Kirishima teaming up at the sports festival was a big deal in terms of their later friendship.
But…do you remember how hilariously unimpressed Kirishima was with Bakugou’s attitude?
Because it was a thing.
Sometimes I read in fics that Kirishima THINKS BAKUGOU HAS NO FLAWS and I’m just like
This is a guy who is very aware of Bakugou’s flaws and likes him anyway. Who deliberately goes out of his way to mitigate them and smooth Bakugou’s edges so he can function normally with the rest of the world. It’s why they work so well together.
Someone who accepts you completely, warts and all, is a much rarer thing than someone who just follows you around thinking you’re great (as Bakugou’s previous “friends” did), and I think Bakugou knows that very well.
