INTRO. ladies…gentlemen…those of a neutral denomination…i don’t have a whole lot to say here that isn’t wild gushing, or things i haven’t said before, but i’ll get it out of the way -thank you. thank you for helping this little blog of mine flourish into what it is today. thank you for being with me for all the ups and downs. thank you for watching Riven and i grow together.

i didn’t think i was in a bad place before i came here, but i don’t really know where i’d be if i hadn’t chosen her as a muse, but she has come to mean so much to me it’s dizzying. i’m just grateful that i’m going strong, and i am hopeful - and eager! - to keep it going with those who are here with me on this journey.

☆ —— “Lowly — “ He hissed, before remembering who he was talking to. Keeping his temper in check would likely be the wise decision here, however he wasn’t in the mood to let someone just walk all over him.

“I’ll have you know that Zed sent me to deal with you, I have no patience for your hollow threats”

Summer would always be her favorite season. The cold sting of winter was a far-and-away sort of thought, but the threat of a rain-laden autumn would still not be present for at least a few more months. It had left any worries for seeking shelter as an after thought to hang as she bide her time, body presently settled in the grass with arms supporting her head. 

‘ i should finish that lotion i started. ‘ Musing to herself, ‘ it will be a pain to re-stir if i let the oil separate… ‘

& she begins to mull over her next steps before the sound of a voice - deep, though cracking when it began to shout - punctuates the air, dragging Riven from her little reverie and forcing her to sit up.

‘ must this always happen to me? ‘ Now she rises to her feet, fingers plucking her sword from the earth as she makes her way towards the source. ‘ if it’s not bandits, i swear it is a bunch of crazy strangers… ‘

☆ —— The summer heat, although welcomed by many, was hated by Kayn. It was far too warm, and made dealing with Rhaast’s temper a special kind of hell. Kayn tried to find solace in a mossy grove, where he could rest and train if need be. Taking refuge under a large tree, he leaned Rhaast against the trunk, the weapons eye gleamed as it glared it him. Perhaps his weapon was irritated by the heat too, because he had been much more pushy than usual. Rhaast spent much of their time as of late, complaining about Zed and his teachings, or Kayn’s unwillingness to obey him, which happened to be the same seed that sparked this argument.

It doesn’t take much to have these two at eachothers necks, a simple phrase such as “Zed’s teachings are failing you” tend to do the trick, with the aid of the summer heat of couse. It took mere minutes before Kayn was yelling his retorts at his weapon, his voice cracking often as he strained it. No one else around could hear Rhaast however, just Kayn. But Kayn had to verbally retort, making him look rather… questionable. Any passers by would likely think he’d gone mad, but that was the least of his worries. He cared not about on lookers, focused more on Rhaast in a clash of egoism.

“Perhaps — just bear with me on this idea — if you shut up for once, it would make both of our lives much easier,” He hissed, voice echoed throughout the grove, alerting any on standby of his location.

little psa on ships and ship development:

When two muns get together and decide to ship their characters there is usually a lot of communication behind it. Most of the time their characters have interacted, spark from the muses is felt on both sides, it’s discussed, and then developed. Sometimes all the development takes place on their blogs, sometimes it takes place through private conversation or skype, but most of the time it’s a mixture of both.  Even if you see a ship that suddenly appears on the dash with no previous signs of it being so, do not assume development was rushed. In many cases development may be happening in private, and that’s fine! Maybe they tried it privately and, when it worked, wanted it to be a part of their blogs! Maybe they didn’t and it really was just a spur of the moment decision! So what? Who cares? If it’s making them happy, and it’s not hurting anyone, it is literally NONE of your business! The point here is that, just because you don’t see every written line of development for your own eyes, don’t assume it didn’t happen. And even if it didn’t happen, it is no one’s concern but the blogs writing the ship to begin with. Move along.

and so he would. the true power of the darkin would consume this child more and more, soon to cover his entire persona. the darkin would not be snuffed out not, no. the power of him, RHAAST, would grow more and more upon the noxian-born’s body. with such an opening for to control more of the boy’s body, the scythe snickers, enjoying his words of WEAKNESS.

     “yes . . YES. accept my all, and you will know true strength, KAYN.“ 

the armor that kayn revels in, the one that he feels blessed upon by the shadows, grows further upon his chest. blood drips and flesh tears, rhaast not caring in which direction he grows. as long as it would be more, it was GOOD. the boy gives a groan, and a plenty a gasp as the darkin laughs in his pitiful situation. the demon of wrath and chaos does not notice, but he RHAAST, was spreading further than he could ever expect from this stubborn child. he was growing into his HEART.

☆ ——  He realized his mistake quickly, however it was much too late for him, much too late now that he noticed. The pain was quick to seep in, starting in just a headache. ‘Just a headache’ however, was over simplified. The pain was searing, screeching as the Darkin gained more influence over him, his laughter e c h o i n g through the inside of his skull. The pain in his head alone was blinding, numbing, he couldn't feel himself think.

The pain spread, oh boy  — did it spread. It felt like his shoulder had been lit a b l a z e. He could feel it moving... The armor, the restraint, it was...growing? Metal prongs dug into his chest, pulling itself like claws towards his center. A hand instinctively went up as he gasped in pain, his lungs v o i d of air. As he looked down at his hand, the pale canvas it had become was stained in red, shimmering in his dimming sights. Blood.

He could feel it, him...Rhaast, as he mindlessly took more control. He cared not for what he had control over, just more, always more. Greedy. The only word came to mind before pain took over once again, causing the boy to double over. Tears streamed down his face, his teeth grinding together, knuckled clenched, turning pale, an excelling contrast to the shining liquid on his fingers. His clawed hand reveled in its power, extending out with the laughter of Rhaast, as if he now owned the body. He did, didn’t he?

Blood pounded in his ears as he dropped to his knees, refusing to scream. Rhaast didn’t d e s e r v e the satisfaction. Blood trickled down his chest, his normal hand clutching at the new plating of armor that had extended, further towards his right side. He could feel his heartbeat underneath all the metal, but ... he couldn’t feel it at the same time? His hand could feel it, the soft ba-dum, ba-dum, that indicated he was alive, but...he couldn’t feel it. It no longer belonged to him, it belonged to his blade.

☆— — Kayn felt nothing but distrust towards the angelic figure, how someone with so much divine power could let the world live in its ravenous ways without taking a stand, how a figure with the abilities to tip the scales allowed tragedies to form. He knew not the extent of her powers, however has overheard of her legacy, an angel with the ability to stop death itself. He did not know however, how accurate this information was, but chose not to care. 

“Ah yes, you do have quite the ability to stay neutral, ever unswayed towards chaos nor death. Many with powers akin to yours would turn corrupt, the magic causing themselves to second guess their morals, however you remain v i g i l a n t, balanced, and unchanging,” 

It was bitter, and double-edged, but a compliment nonetheless.
