PARA: Tea for Two || Kai & Peter
“You have a really cute laugh,” Peter said, eagerly taking Kai’s hand and maneuvering out from under the table. “I think I’ve said that. Several times, actually. But it’s really, really cute. Do I have to let go of your hand now?”
Peter squeezed Kai’s hand a little tighter and held onto it while he used his other hand to pour out cups of tea for both of them. He was a little shaky, but it was probably just from nerves. Or so he thought until he sloshed tea all over his clothes. He stared blankly at his jumper, then at Kai, and finally, tugged his jumper off with a flailing, wriggly attempt that pulled his shirt up as well and left his hair in disarray. “Sorry ’bout that,” he mumbled. “I’m really uncoordinated. Ever done a tea reading before?”
Kai nodded. Peter had mentioned his laugh a few times. Which he liked. It was one of the few times people at Hogwarts actually heard his voice. It was rare for him to speak, less so to laugh. Usually though it was to himself because of something he’d read.
Looking down at their hands, Kai blushed and squeezed back. This was new, but he liked it. The blonde jumped when Peter spilled on his own shirt and gave him a worried look, the tea looked hot but he didn’t seem hurt. Kai’s eyes grew wide, staring slightly as the small expanse of Peter’s lower stomach was revealed as he tugged his shirt off. Peter’s voice snapped him out of his daze and he flushed furiously and shook his head. He didn’t mind at all. And he’d never had his tea read before. Read mine? he wrote.
