The Thomas Therom
The Thomas Therom states that “If man beliesve something is real, and acts as if it is real then it becomes real in its consequence.”. Meaning ;the situation at hand doesn’t matter, who and how they perceive the situation will determine the out come .
For example,
“The MOMO Challenge”
The Momo challenge was first introduced in 2018 is an example of the Thomas Therom and how it can affect a large community. The momo challenge was said to be a hoax placed on children’s shows within the YouTube channel app. Kids claimed that mid show a scary face would pop up and tell them to do self harming things. Many people today the year 2019 are still talking about the subject and I’ve actually watched parents coheres there children into saying “momo is real ,don’t listen to it “ when momo actually is a wax figure used in a Japanese horror show. Because it was perceived as real it became real in concequence now children look for videos that have momo to interact with, and take actions in harming others and themselves for attention in media. In concequence children began to cause harm, when the challenge didn’t even exist.
“The Mental Map of Sanity”
The Thomas Therom can affect people on a smaller scale as well we encounter the Thomas Therom everyday of our lives. For example in college students are recommended to do group assignments, in doing so we prepare our self for future bickering and disagreement. But what if a student has mental difficulties that others in the group are not aware of. Student A and student B are placed in a group of 5 and are told to complete an assignment student B has been diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar disorder. These two mental mutations can affect the way one precieves a situation. Student A asked student B to repeat their answer multiple times and student B having the attention span of an apple and the tempor of a saltine, could possibly snap because they believe that they are being wronged or feel less then. In consequence the menatally Ill student is precieved as crazy. When questions are to be asked it’s a group assignment.
Fieldwork Assignment 4: Gender and Language
1. the class I chose to analyze was my mothers Human Behavior and Social Environment a graduate course at Morgan. There are 15 students in total 14 females and one male. Before the class ended every female had at least one chance to speak and that one male spoke almost every time if not before but a female spoke just to give his point of view.
2. On average females spoke for 40sec-1min to answer a question, using about 50 words with the added “likes” a lot of the females used like for at least 5 of those 50 words, and 7-9 actual vocabulary words. The one male in the class took about 1min-1:30secs each time he spoke simply because there was normally a female who either questioned or disagreed with his view.
3. Female posture in this class can only be described as laid back, feet up slouched . The one male in the class was actually the same. Everyone was friendly defensive like they heard what their peers said but they weren’t listening. The class was like a huge opinion
4. The instructor didn’t really focus on gender more or so who actually had the answer. If no one knew she’d just keep explaining.I even jumped in a few times. Her gaze was never focused on one person until someone spoke.
5. Majority of the class was females so more females were actually called on although the one male spoke the most.
6. The gender of the instructor does affect and influence her class because a lot of the class seems to focus on family and how growing up affect people. Being a single mother she has a lot of experience which gives a better understanding.

•Module 1: Can of Coke•
•Product: Ugg boots•
Uggs are a global company continuously growing; at least one in every 3 females own a pair of uggs. Just kidding but The Ugg industry has sold millions but have you ever wondered where this company first began.
The founder of the sheep skin boot company Brian Smith traveled to San Diego, California with sheep skin boots after finding out their were no sheep skin boots in American countries in 1971. Ironically Uggs sold well in California although it normally hot but wasn’t long before the media got ahold of this Australia product.
Ugg materials normally include sheep skin and leather with added buckles, patches, and glitter. The media and peta activist attacked the Ugg Australia company due to the fact that they get products from shorn sheep skin; and the conditions animals were held in. The company also have been questioned due to the cost of production being around $85-$90 and consumer cost being $200.
Although the Ugg company illustrates an Australian logo it’s actually and American owned company and was originated in America by an Australian sufer. Works generally make minimum wage ($11) and based on reviews have been fairly compensated for their work.
After reviewing the Ugg company and how it’s made I did discover things I didn’t know about the gloratized boots. But as a consumer I don’t think I’d switch up my consumer habits in supporting this company.
•Increasing migration• is the increasing amount of people being pushed and pulled into other countries. I chose this particular because it is relevant to today’s solution to the US problem with mass immigration. Immigrants today are being pushed from their countries so they migrated to others but also are being pulled to other countries because of better opportunities.

•Uneven Development• is defined as the technological gap between certain countries and their ability to catch up to the outside world. This particular illitrations shows the trickling down of water to a child from a under developed country. This shows how a product can go through every country and once it gets to the under developed it can be at a very little pace .
•Flexable accumulation • Flexable accumulation is the process of out Sourcing. Traveling to other place to utilize anything they simply because it’s cheaper at a cost l. The first of the most popular companies in America that out sources ingredients to create their products is starbucks getting is cups from North America, beans from Africa and Mexico ,and sugar from Mexico and Australia.
McDonald’s or second gloratized American company outsources by focusing on expanding through targeting particular types of consumers although the products beings sold negatively affect consumers .

•Time Space Compression• is defined as the advantages of technology that increase the speed global communication. The photo above illustrates how time is compressed through transportation. Ultimately shrinking the world ;because the time it takes for something to get from one side of the globe to another can be achieved in a few hours .Where as the original source of global communication took months .
