@everyone
I am a creator, and a creator is human. Humans require feedback to keep creating.
I will no longer stay quiet about my lack of feedback.
If you don’t want to read this, unfollow me now.
If you don’t want to reblog my art, unfollow me now.
Most of you followed me because I’m sure you liked my art. So why don’t you guys want me to keep creating it? It’s OBVIOUS you don’t care if I keep drawing or not.
I’m a commission artist. This means I make art for money to meet my IRL needs. Do you know how much money I made in the last year? $22.50. My bank is overdrawn because it started charging me fees for not making a single deposit in the 5 months I’ve had the account. I have to ask my family for basic and personal necessities.
I’m not spamming my commission info to personally inconvenience you.
On that note, if you’ve postblocked my commission info, unfollow me now.
Do you know what liking my art does? Pressing the heart button?
Absolutely nothing.
You’re not helping me, you’re not supporting me; in fact, you’re telling me specifically that you want to make sure no one else can see my content. You’re making sure that my voice is not heard, you’re making sure that no one else can see me, you’re making sure that I can’t support myself.
Why? Because you don’t feel like pressing two buttons instead of one? Aren’t you special.
I’m angry, and I deserve to be.Â
Do you know why I only produce my own characters, usually not in decent quality? It’s because there’s no reward. No one shares my work, no one comments on it, no one leaves tags for me to read, no one tells me what they want to see me draw. I get 0 feedback. So if my audience does not give TWO ABSOLUTE SHITS about what I put out?
WHY SHOULD I?
You can’t for a moment say it’s because my recent art is shittier, because no one fucking reblogged the art when I still put in the effort. When I draw for my friends I have to tell them to reblog it.
I am trying to make a living.
The literal only thing you have to do is reblog.
Why is it so hard?
And if you don’t like how I’m angry, you’re directly the reason I am. You are the problem.

Dude, this is NOT okay, Jesus Christ….
I get it, I’ve also had to rely on commissions to pay bills and for my bank account to not go into the negatives while I’m looking for a steady job, not knowing if or when I ever will.
I get that its incredibly infuriating when my comms posts get ignored and when tumblr doesn’t show your posts in the tags and its really hard to find an audience, as well as customers in what is already a small community full of talented artists.
But calling out all of your followers is a one way ticket to lose any sort of audience you possibly had, especially when a decent portion of them are 18 or younger, its really scummy.
And if you’ve somehow only made $22.50 in the past year, it means you’re either missing something, or doing something wrong. You need to learn that sometimes, having to take a step back and reevaluate what is needed to succeed, or at least make do. If you’ve only made what it roughly $20, you need to drop your prices, expand what fandoms you make art of, know what tags to use, make better comms posts, get a ko-fi, expand to twitter/insta/fb/reddit/furaffinity/etc, have an incentive for your audience/customers to actually buy your work. You also need to realize that tumblrs userbase is mostly made up of highschoolers-young adults, and if either of us are indicative, are usually also poor.
you’re allowed to feel angry, annoyed and saddened by your lack of making money, but making a callous callout post is truly not the way to go about it, since you pretty much just alienated every single one of them as well as any future customers that comes across this post.
