Tbh the more Ancients stuff we get, the more I feel my interest in FR die.
Two new full apparel collections (not just recolors) since November 2024. Only three new genes for Moderns that didn't start on Ancients in the same time span. Latest Modern breed was July 2024.
Four fucking new Ancient breeds since December 2024.
The shit I actually play the game for feels like an after thought and it's so depressing.

honestly glad i don't ever scry things as ancients bc i am on mobile 95% of the time and if i had to do this whenever i wanted to look at any non-modern gene i think i would quit the site. they arent even alphabetical by ancient...
just occurred to me. and please take this with a grain of salt bc i know nothing about canon FR lore. but aren't there kind of a lot of huge deserts in sornieth?
honestly if you think about it almost every flight territory in sornieth is just a desert
earth: mostly rock desert
lightning: also just one huge desert
light: mostly grass/plains but i've seen people hc parts of it as desert
plague: meat desert
ice: arctic (legally a desert)
fire: apparently just one huge active volcano which i would argue is a desert
wind: a plateau is a desert thing (ever been to utah?)
arcane: also apparently entirely just rocks, so desert
and then nature is a forest, obviously. and shadow is a forest if it was dark. and there's Some Trees in light but thats only part of it
Sorry, but plateaus are not just desert things! Yes, there are plateaus in the desert. But plateaus can be formed by volcanic activity, plate tectonics, or erosion. Based on Wind flight being, well, windy, that would indicate it's the 3rd. The Tibetan Plateau includes multiple ecosystems, including desert, yes, but also alpine steppe, shrub meadows, and coniferous forests. The Ethiopian Highlands are located in the tropics, and have the driest summers of the Mediterranean, but also heavy monsoon seasons. The Colorado Plateau includes grasslands, woodlands, and forests.
Also, while the lack of vegetation on Fire's map may suggest a desert, volcanic activity does not make something a desert - rainfall does. There are plenty of volcanoes in the tropics IRL, including Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, which has very sparse vegetation in and around the lava fields. Ka'u, the area around Kilauea, may be described as a desert, but gets 39" of rainfall a year (true deserts receive <10"). However, the rain there contains sulfur dioxide. So if Fire flight is NOT in a true desert, it probably experiences acid rain.
We also don't know the precipitation of Plague (might also have acid rain), or Arcane (may not experience regular vegetation due to it being basically irradiated.)
