hey there anon! thank you so much!! here's a small walkthrough on my hair drawing process, it's not very detailed but i hope you're able to get an idea ! :DD

first i start off with a base colour

then with a darker version of my base, i start sectioning the hair off. i keep in mind of how the hair is flowing

i continue sectioning the hair off, adding a ton of random lines. this part is very tedious but it produces a really cool kind of tarot card style to it ? idk... i like how it looks hehe

afterwards i start cel shading (wont get into the nitty gritty, but generally DON'T shade with black/a darker colour). make sure all your shading layers are set to multiply !!!

with another multiply layer and a textured brush (fluffy watercolour on medibang paint), i colour in the top and bottom of the hair (or wherever shadows should be more concentrated).

with the same brush, i switch to a highlight colour (layer mode: add) and just brush the middle section.

lastly i use a lead pencil brush to draw in some more harsher highlights !!

and thats basically my hair colouring process, down to the very basics. maybe I'll do a more detailed tutorial one day. thanks again anon! 💖

Do any of the mods have tips for drawing a full body in side view? I always get it wrong

There’s a really good side view breakdown in Bridgman’s Constructive Anatomy book, however I can’t find it! I did my best to emulate what I know. 

If you already have the front view down, it’s a simple thing of translating the proportions over to the side view. One thing that helps me construct the body is using boxes to construct the head, ribs, and pelvis. The shoulder usually sits with bias towards the back, unless the person is slouching or their shoulders are raised in tenseness. I would recommend studying the bone structure of this if you really want an analytical sense of how it works!
