It's not hard to see the staring was aimed at him. That one-eyed stare. Those damn mouth of his shut tight. It's rekindling a bit of irritation like: What does he want? Is Zoro staring for the sake of staring? No. Of course not. The cook slaps the washcloth right onto the kitchen counter and turns to look at the swordsman. He tsked; tongue clicked at the roof of his mouth.

" You want somethin', don't ya? Can't be man enough to say it though. It's not sake though. You'd demand that like a damn loud cat. Fuck. "

There's a grunt, soon to be followed by a faint scoff, a "tch" sound escaping him in response to the cook's words. Gaze temporarily averted as he sits back in his chair, he folds his arms across his chest before kicking out a chair — an invitation to hopefully prompt the other man into taking a seat.

"Don't be stupid. If I wanted a drink, I'd go over there and take it."

He doesn't pull away—It's the opposite as he leans in a little, the grin never leaving his lips. It boldens; confident more. Yet he's captivated by the subtleness of the man. Liking that Mihawk could grab him by the chin. His skin against his. It's grounding. Like a memory burnt into his skin; loving the touch.

His eyes stayed on him, smiling eyes, adoration swimming in those red orbs. " I can do that. " Then he chuckled. " Hm. I digress, Hawkeye. Flattery got me into your castle. Flattery got me right here, with your touch. A ring on my finger. It definitely got me strapped to your dinner table. "

There's a moment of silence as he pauses in thought.

Perhaps such words are meant to get a rise out of him — some sort of favourable reaction, no doubt, that the pirate so desperately seeks. Though for as absurd as he may find the man to be, the confession certainly does earn him a faint exhale of a breath; something that may or may not entirely resemble a chuckle escaping him in response to the ludicrousy.

"Is that what you think? And here I thought you knew better than to make such bold assumptions." Although he finds himself releasing the chin held within his grasp, he doesn't step away.

"While your charming nature certainly benefits you at times, I wouldn't designate it as the sole cause of your good fortune."

Although he's yet to hear the other two's complaints, perhaps this sort of ... mishap will benefit him somehow. Teach the Red-Haired man a lesson in self preservation. That, or perhaps modesty.

Then there's a small pause, blinking, mouth open; trying to form an explanation even if Shanks didn't fully understand. He just wanted to sound cool. He understands the definition, sort of? " Your looks—you're serving. You're serving looks. You're always so handsome, well-kept and suave. The kids say it, y'know. Gawking on wit' their lingo. Speaking of drinks, you want one? "

He watches the man backpedal in his attempt to provide an explanation. In the meantime, he steps forward; gradually closing the distance as the younger man wracks his brain to try and define this so-called "new generation lingo".

Stopping just shy of invading the man's space, he extends a hand: cups the pirate's chin between index finger and thumb before turning his face towards him.

"Perhaps it's best that you refrain from explaining that which you don't understand." Blinking slowly as he regards his so-called rival — a subtle smirk then manifests as it tugs at the corner of his mouth.

"Flattery will get you no where — I'm sure you're aware of that by now."
