Feet pounding the pavement, he basked in unnerving normalcy. Stripped of titles, influence and even men to command, the once revered soldier was brought down to earth, no more than an average Joe trying to mingle with society again. Stryker had found out about his dirty bit of business, the terrible office the U.N. had appointed him to in lieu of the promotion he arguably deserved. In his outrage, measures had been taken, sullying reputations in the process of relieving a disgraced Reyes of command in the process. Hereafter, Blackwatch, its leader and agents were disbanded, sacrificed so that S.H.I.E.L.D. could face, so that that bastard Stryker could save face with his betters.

Kicked down, but not out, he would recover from this disgrace– get his own back, in due course. But it would take time, resources. Planning. All of which the man didn’t have; not yet. Still, before thoughts of revenge could be acted upon, he had to salvage what remained of his life in the aftermath of being dismissed. Avoiding disorder would make for a fine start until he was back on his feet again, but, like always, trouble had a funny old way of seeking him out, a fact annoyingly remembered when he heard one of his feet squelch audibly, gaze lowering to pinpoint the source of the audible disturbance…only to pay witness to a wet streak of gore.

Horrified at first, Gabe backed up, covering his mouth with the back of a hand in disgust. If ever there was a time to leave things be, ignore what he’s seen, that time had arrived in earnest, and yet…His legs were moving before he had the chance to second guess, paralleling the bloody trail as it hooked around a corner and then led on towards cover. All because he never knew when to quit, didn’t know the meaning of leaving issues rest.

It was, after all part of the reason he’d been dismissed in the first place.

The footsteps of heavy boots had been easy to hear in the death silence, and it had made Loki freeze in the spot. Don’t move, don’t breathe. They can’t get you if they can’t find you. They can’t find you if they can’t hear you, Just stay quiet and wait. Wait until they go away, or they will hurt you. They will haunt you down and tear at your skin until there is only flesh and bone. Pulling, ripping, cutting. Don’tmovedon’tbreathedon’tmovedon’tbreathe, 

The squelching sound of thick blood being stepped on snapped the god back into reality. It was followed by silence, and then a disgusted sound, and Loki’s heart stopped beating. His trail had been found. Please, keep going. Please, keep going. Ignore the blood and go on your way. Oh, norns, please, I beg you. I can’t fight them anymore, not now.

But of course the norns didn’t listen, they had forsaken him after all, and the footsteps resumed their way, becoming closer and closer to him. Without even realizing, he had started to shiver badly, like a frightened animal. In a moment of better lucidity, Loki would have despised himself for such a weak and pathetic display. But right now? Right now he was too tired, too lost, too hurt to care. And what use would have for him to put on a fasade anyway? He had no pride left to break. He was like a frightened animal, so he was going to act like one, if that meant to kick and scream and buckle like a rabbid dog, then so be it. The god bit down as hard as he could, ignoring the painfull pull of the leather sewing his mout shut, using the piercing sensation to focus, forcing his shiver to die down enough to move. He would only have one chance to attack and try to run away despite his restraints. So the jottun pushed himself up to a crouch, swallowing pained whimpers, and prepared himself to kick the first face that dared to show in his hiding place. If he was going down, he would go down with a fight.

The snow covered the ground like a white soft blanket, it was the first snow the young gem had experienced. Well as a being that is. She smiled as her skin felt the cold air through her coat, it was refreshing and different. Tessa had only known life for a little while and it seemed amazing, no one to control you. To hurt you… To use you. It was, to her, paradise. As she wondered the fresh snow covered ground she hummed but the hum was short lived as she saw something falling. Falling from the sky. Tessa’s pace picked up so she could find it once it fell, it was so big to be a bird. But too small to be a plane. What was it? Her mind raced, what if it was another kind of animal? Or person! Oh, gods if it were a person… What would she do? What could she do? Perhaps she could heal them, but did mortal beings survive such things? Her heart stopped when she heard the thing meet with the ground. It sounded like something shattering. “Please be alive…” She whispered as her pace quickened, she needed to get there fast if she had any hope of finding them. The night was drawing near and it would not be wise to be out here in the dark. “Hello! Hello?!” The young woman called out searching through the trees hoping someone could make a sound, or groan, or something. “Anyone-” She stood shocked and then her mouth dropped, there he was. The man that fell, from who knows how high. It was so hard to make out features but nonetheless, she knew he needed help. “Sir? Sir, can you hear me?” Tessa dropped beside him allowing the snow to cover her pants, soaking them through and onto her skin. She touched the man to see if he was warm or breathing, though she didn’t know if she was doing it right. “I need to know if you are alive, please make some noise..”

The silence that followed his impact felt like a blessing for his exhausted mind. But alas, no blessing could touch such a cursed creature as him for too long, and the undiscernible noise of live returned quickly to him, followed by a searing pain that almost engulfed him again. But he was not that lucky. A wounded moan escaped his sealed lips as consciusness hit back, and he quickly regreted it. The gesture tore harder at the threads sealing his mouth shut, making fresh rivulets of blood fall down his chin and down his troath. Coughing to keep the liquid outside, which only sent more jolts of pains down his spine, the god rolled onto his side, splattering warm blood over the white snow and dirtying it further.

But Loki had no time to dwell on his misery. He shaked his head in a vain attempt to awaken further and tried to make sense of his surroundings, bright, feverish eyes darting madly around. 

There was someone at his side. The chattering and muffled noise slowly focused to discern a frenetic voice, and the god whimpered, pushing himself away from the unknown presence. He pulled frantically at his restrains to free his arms but to no avail. Even torn and battered the straitjacket held strong, and Loki could do nothing but stare in terror at the figure, his head too dizzy and tired to even summon his usal mask of indiference.

He swallowed hard as the veritable beauty swung his hips and fluttered closer in a flurry of feathers and gems, the soft caress of the feathers damn near pulling him from his seat if it hadn’t been for Tonys arm around his bicep. One white eye and one intoxicating green, he wanted more. A longer look into that forest shade, into his soul. “fuck.” he cussed as he slipped away, knowing he’d been played. “that’s what they do isn’t it? Drag you in?” he turned to Tony to be reassured that I he wasn’t the only drooling idiot only to be disappointed when he was met with a laugh and a clap on the back.

The moment the curtains closed behind him, Loki let out a string of asgardian curses. His memories of the midgardian invasion were too hazy to remember who the blonde was, but he was with Stark, and his face was so eerily familiar... The midgardian had to work for SHIELD, no doubt about that. A slightly histerical cackle followerd the tirade. He had just danced naked in front of an Avenger, maybe even two, and blatantly tried to seduce one of them. It was such a strange and messed up ocurrence that he couldn’t help but laugh. Oh, Thor would be so scandalized if he knew!

“Hey, Lo. Are you fine? That was a scary laugh you got there!” he god looked at his companion with a reasuring smile.

“Oh, sorry for my lack of composture. I just saw someone unexpected in the audience.” What should he do about it? The idea of getting caught was nothing short of terrifying but... it had been so long since he had gotten into some mischief... And surely he could gain some useful information from further interactions, right? Loki licked his lips and smirked wickedly at the waitress. “Could you put the next drink of the blonde adonis in the 14th on my tab, please? And do make sure he knows when my turn today ends, if you may.”

Loki walked down the street in a hurry, wanting to arrive as soon as posible to his home and wash away the damned make up. Damn midgardians and his odd inventions. He should have known how sticky that much glitter would be…

It was dark night, and the streets were desert, not even cars were circulating around this neighborhood so late. Even a straight cat could be heard in such silence, so the steps near him were easy to notice. 

The god frowned and turned towards the figure, confused. This was not a good neightbourhood, after all. “Don’t you think it’s a bit late to be walking around alone, dear?”

He stared at the inpredictable gap in reality, the darkness leaking trhough the stars like the tentacles of a nightmare. The cold sweat in his back stuck the rough fabric of the straitjacket to his abused skin.

The sound of hooves thundered from the palace’s road. No, He couldn’t let them capture him again. He couldn’t return to that Hell. All that insanity had to end! He had to escape from Asgard, or his mind would break!.

The noise echoed louder and louder. He could hear now the yells of the einhander looking for him. Nononono. He couldn’t take it anymore. He couldn’t… The jotun backed away without even noticing, unitl he felt the rip between realms trying to suck him in, crawling and gnawing at his back. He closed his eyes feeling the invisible rip gaaping like the open mouth of mistress death herself. Once he had mastered the portals, walking between them like they were old friends. But now, with his seidr damaged and practicallý sealed... It was suicidal, he could end anywhere, he could even end up in the void again, and last time he had almost lost his sanity, but not his live...

“Someone look at the cliff! He can be trying to escape through the sea!”

His heart sikped a beat. he wasn’t going to return to them, never again. he was going to escape, and if the price was his live, then so be it. Loki breathed deeply through his nose, closed his eyes, and let go.

The jotun fell from what seemed an eternity, until the darkness became stars, and the stars became blue sky. He spiraled out of control, the white of the snow mixing with the clouds

And that was what probably saved his life, the damned snow. Still, the sound of shatering bones could be heard from afar, and the god whined in pain, trying not to throw up after the travel. It had happened only once since his mouth had been sewn shut, but he didn’t want to repeat the experience never again. The barely could move, the last thing registering in his mind was how similar to Jottunheim the iced landscape looked like, and how little he cared at the moment.

And then the darkness finally took him.

The Sentinel of Liberty settled into a seat and flashed a hell of a smile as a beer was placed before him, a scotch before Tony. “Now what is this?” he mumbled, shifting in his seat to lean into his teammate, the music was starting and he wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

Tony chuckled. “Burlesque, since I feel you’re too classy for a strip joint, we start here. Shut up and watch.”

Steve frowned, blue eyes finding the stage as the curtain flew away and a veritable beauty was revealed. His grip tightened on the bottle of beer, watching enraptured as his body moved. He was gorgeous, the music faded away and it was silence and the dancers muscles creating music of their own. He glowed, and shimmered, feathers fluttering as he twirled and swayed ad Steve found his mouth dry and his pants just a bit tighter than they were before. He had to meet him, get to know his name and his story and most importantly, feel those muscles under his fingertips.

The atmosphere of the stage was intoxicating. Loki swayed with the music, lean muscles rippling under tauth skin as he contorted his body, feathered fans always moving away enough for it to slightly caress his body. His mind was almost blank, giving in to the feeling of the notes, the heat of the spotlight, the strong scent of musk and cocconut mixed with sweat. 

Through heavy lashes, he took in his surroundings. The performer could see mostly familiar faces, even if shrouded in shadows. There was some new ones, though, and after a couple numbers his gaze fell upon the bar. One of the fresh clients caught his attention. Tall and well-sculpted, with wide shoulders and strong arms. Quite his type. And the shape of the face seemed lovely too... Loki decided to step up his game and take a closer look. With a calculated twirl, surrounding himself with the feathers, the performer shred his main clothes with a quick pull, satin and and crepé pooling at his feet as he stepped into a near table, sneaking his way towards the newcomers. His hands never stopped his movement, making sure the feathers writhed around his body, only teasing the glint of jewelry that covered his naked skin, panties and stockings. 

A closer look didn’t disapoint him. The man was handsome, for sure. baby blue eyes stared at him not with simple lust, but with open fascination. And his short blonde hair and soft lips gave him a kind of boyish air. How lovely. The god smirked, finally revealing his body as he stended his arms onwards, letting the feathers caress the blonde’s arms up to his shoulders and cheeckbones. Both poisonous green and pure white eyes stared directly at him, never blinking, as he leaned closer to his face, one of the fans now reaching to the other’s chin and inviting him forward, his faces teasingly close, before he stepped back and way out of reach in a fluid movement, turning his back to the man. He glided towards the stage again, his performance still going on, as he tried to convince himself that he had not just seen Tony fucking Stark sitting besides the blond midgardian.

“Holly fuck! Did you swallow a lightbulb or something?” Loki rolled his eyes, throwing a brush at the laughing bouncer. He would have given him a witty comment, if his lips hadn’t been under assault. Norn’s sake, was she putting glitter on them? He prayed it was glitter. His body was carrying enough rhinestones and feathers as it was. Good lord, even his eyelashes had a feather on them! “Ouch! No, but really, weren’t ya supossed to be a peacock or something?”

“And I am, just an albino one... I think...” His lips were finally free, and the god finally got a peep into the mirror. To his surprise, it was a quite stricking image. Instead of the light colors making him look gaunt and awkward, as he had always feared, the composition gave him elegance, and the silver shades of the white make up concealled perfectly the charred flesh around his eyes. it was quite a shock to see himself, always surrounded in shadows, look so... radiant... The contradiction made him chuckle. It was the reason why he had stuck to the cabaret, after all. Their artist could turn him in whatever they wanted and, once in stage, he could be whatever his heart desired. He could be in the limelight, no longer thrown in the shadows against his will. He could express his anger or his sadness, he could be regal or decadent, dance with passion or shroud himself in mistery. And he could do so with absolute freedom. The jottun made sure that the headpiece was in place and smirked at the mirror, pulling himself up in all his glory, and headed to the stage. The cheers reverberated behind the curtain as the lights were turned on and the music started. The god striked a pose and waited for his cue. Now it was time to shine. 

He felt like todnight was going to be a good night.

Reyes was out on a mission with some of his team. His scouts reported an anomaly on the radar and he headed over there with his shotguns at the ready. His eyes scanned the area and noticed a faint sound that sounded like heels? He raised a brow and followed until the sound died down.

He came across a oddly dressed figure and coughed to make his presence known. Hands on the shotguns. “Look I don’t know where you came from but this area is restricted right now.” He said stepping forward

What a success! The god sighed internally before plastering an innocent and lost look on his face, rising his hands before turning around slowly. “I-I’m so sorry. I didn’t intend to intrude.” He made sure to keep his head slightly down, shoulders hunched, better to look defenseless when in an unknown situation, specially with midgardians. 

It was difficult to see the man in the half-lit place, but it was clear his garnments were all black, dense and sober, very similar to a SHIELD operative. Loki let his worry show on his frown. There was no logo on the attire that he recognized, so it was difficult to now if the man was a soldier or a mercenary. At least there wasn’t a clear killing intent... “If you could tell me were the exit is, i will be on my merry way. I can’t seem to find it for myself.” A small smile, just enough to seem friendly.

    I T wasn’t odd to find people in the forest, even if it was     one where one could get turned around quite easily within     the large woods, the thick trees being able to black off     any view of the outside world if you never stayed on the     trails. B A S T I O N had memorized every bit that he     had traveled, knew when things were different and when     to avoid dangers if there were any present. H I S small,     yellow bird friend helping him with detecting things in the     area seeing as he had a much better view from the skies.     O F course, Ganymede hadn’t seen the man first, therefore     allowing the unit to nearly stumble into view.

    H E had to of been heard, with loud and rusted joints not     helping his case with each and every movement he took.     C U R I O S I T Y took hold of the bot more than fear of     being attacked, a beep louder than he desired escaped     him, but he kept his ground, head tilting to the side as he     examined the man before him. H O W strange he was from     first glance, but Bastion liked it!  H E was just… hoping this     one was as nice as he looked!

    B U T the unit held his hopes high in the face of maybe     making a new friend! T H A T was always his favourite     thing, though he waited to see how the other would react     to him before trying to get any closer.

The first though that came to mind was that he had somehow returned to Alfheim. The god stared aroun from his sitting position, waiting for the diziness to go. The plants were clearly midgardian. Thanks the norns, Loki always ended with such intense migraines when a spell backfired and he ended up in the wrong realm...

Not that being squezed out between the planes of the same realm wasn’t tiring to... But hey, at least there were less posibilities of him getting his throath cut in his sleep.

With a grunt of pain, the performer got up, pulling leaves and dirt from his petticoat. A chuckled scaped his troath at the scenary. Wath an irony; Madam Fran had decided to paint and dress him like a colorfull bird, and now he had the scenery to match. That was going to be fun to explain to the  first human he found. If he found one...

Loki paid attention to his surroundings, searching for any indice of live, when he heard the strange sound of whirring and beeping. Maybe some kind of vehicle? Or a comunnication stand? Pulling himself tall and dusting off the best he could the white, pink and black fabrics that covered his body, the god walked with confidence towards the source of the body, a charming smile on his face. “Good afternoon. Would you be so kind as to lend me a hand? I’m afraid I’m quite disoriented and I’m unsure of the ways to return to the city.” His voice was deep and soothing, meant to calm, not to antagonize, and he kept himself enough at way to not seem threatening to whoever had produced the noise.

The place was eerily silent, not a single voice resonating on the concret walls. The smell of fresh blood mixed with the soft sting of humidity, making him feel nauseous. The smell was so familiar...

Trapped beneath the ground. Buried deep down, too deep for anyone to reach. The hodor of humid earth and rotten wood all around him. Under his back. Over his head. Only soil and roots and death and blood. So much blood, spilling from his mouth steadily, pooling around him, clogging his troath and he wants to scream and scream and scream. But he can’t, he can’t and his body curls in agony, the movement tearing at his wounds and making the smell worse, more blood soiling the dirt. And why scream anyway? Noone can hear him down there, locked away where hw will never we found, nobody knowing he’s here. But he knows, Odin knows and will not come, will make sure that he spends eternity between venom and blood and pain...

But there had been voices. Screams and shots and the sounds of battle. No, he was not in the roots of yggdrasyl anymore. A sob scapped his troath, fear and relief flooding his mind. The god had managed to escape Asgard, but the danger was not gone. He pushed his body further behind the boxes, curling into himself as much as the ratty straitjacket allowed him and praying to the norns that the trail of thick blood left behind him remained covered by the darkness. He swallowed a whimper, pursing his lips in an attempt to stop any more sounds from coming, and waited.
