Shelf Clearers why you no share?
Its always nice when theres a good deal going on but it does not mean that you should clear the shelf of the product.Sunday morning I went with my sisters to get the Purex buy 1 at 6$ and get 2 free at CVS. There are 12 of us in one household so we do laundry alot and often. We got there at about 10 am and found the shelves already cleared except for 5 bottles of Purex so we took 3. There were some purex pods available but they are 18 count and the bottles are 33 loads. While walking around we found 3 more bottles hidden away. While checking out the deals I noticed that alot of the shelves were cleared and there was this elderly lady also couponing. I dont know her name but Ill call her Betsy. I spotted some progresso soup in her cart something that was on sale this week and posted on every coupon site out there so I came to the conclusion that she was also couponing. I could not help but feel sorry for her as it did not look as if she got any good deals since the shelves were bare and she looked like she needed it. Older people are more likely to need the deals since they no longer work and dont have alot of money especially in my area where the city is bankrupt. Then I got distracted by this other woman at the store I recognize her from our other shopping trips, she normally clear shelves. She was complaining about the shelves being cleared and that she needed the purex for her aunt. Anyways we decided to go to a different CVS later in the week so I can get some Purex for school and drop by Walmart for free dog food and Walgreens for paper towel. the CVS we went to were stocked up in Purex. I was a bit excited cause I do need them for school I go through 1 bottle every quarter, however the dog food and paper towels were cleared, so it was a bit disapointing. We saw on facebook that people were buying the dog food even though they had no dogs and there were pictures of people with a truck load full of paper towels. This upset me cause at this point they are being rather selfish. However what upsets me the most are the peoples comments on their pictures one read " I cleared the shelves LOL". I found it rather ironic that a facebook group that is made to help others get deals and save money would be more focused on clearing shelves and bragging about it. How do you expect others to get the same deal when theres nothing to get. Recently I read about a couponer who bought 18 bottles of Purex sure the limit is 6 and he claims he used 1 transaction with 1 card. Thats great for him but that means less for everyone else.
After the show Extreme Couponing aired there are more people couponing for many reasons. You dont know their story or why they coupon. I coupon because I pay $27,000 a year for school, and with no Walmart or Target in my town, the prices of simple everyday items are high, including food. A hundred dollars dont get you much in my town but when you need food you gotta play their game or starve. However when I am home I have access to a walmart and a target CVS Walgreens so I can coupon and save them for when I go back to school. This saves me alot of money since I would be paying about $5-7 per bottle of shampoo/condtioner/bodywash/toothpaste etc. I go through 1 bottle a month of shampoo conditoner body wash toothpaste laundry soap mouth wash and about 5$ each thats 30$ x 12 thats 360$ a year.
Whatever their reasons are for couponing it does not excuse them from clearing shelves this is just rude and obnoxious. Even most sites advises you not to do this. When you pack a truck bed full of paper towel it just seems to say you're a selfish hoarder. What ever your situation is you cant be in that bad of a bind to load up that much paper towels. Be courteous to others don't clear the shelves.
