'you'll never give in;' || Lysandre and Jacqueline
They started with five people.
Shaking in the dark caverns, the images of her fellow team mates being crushed by the rock slide as her and Lysandre made it through the gap. She couldnt help them, she couldn’t save them. Tears stung her eyes as they made their way through yet another twisting pathway that could possibly lead to their deaths. She looked at Lysandre, she couldnt trace any sign of emotion. It had not even crossed his mind that three of his top members had been crushed right before them. She didn’t speak, she kept her mouth shut for she knew that the only thing that would come out were the broken sobs and screams, begging him to turn around and try a different route.
This is all so fucked up. Why did I come here?
Panic began to grip her insides. Would she make it out of this alive? Or would she be left behind just like the three before. She almost guaranteed that her brother wouldn’t hear a word about her death if it were to happen. The tears began to flow more fluidly, leaving clean streaks on her porcelain skin. She was covered in so much dust, and the cuts and scrapes stung but that was the least of her worries. She wanted to sit on the ground and cry, but that was weakness. She couldnt show weakness or else he would freak out on her. He told them what they would be doing, and she knew the risk. But she still went, it was her choice too. Watching, he took a sharp left, disappearing from her sight.
"L-lysandre? Where did you go?"
Of course Lysandre was upset.
Of course Lysandre the sight of the mangled bodies of his admins struck him like a Iron Tail to the chest.
But he had to keep going. Yvetal, the bringer of death was somewhere in the cave, and there was no way the vulture-like pokemon was going down without a fight. It knew it was here, he could hear its deep voice echoing in his ear.
You won't win.
The leader clutched a device in his hand tighter, the one he would use to capture the pokemon. While it slept dormant, it still had a power to drain the life from those around it. Nearby pokemon were starting to become more and more scarce, and they watched with ghostly pale eyes as the two of them continued forward.
The hitched voice of his remaining admin echoed throughout the cave, and Lysandre now only realized he must have gotten ahead of her. He could've just left her, it would be faster, and the quicker he got out of this life draining cave the better. But...it felt wrong, she was apart of his extended family, she sacrificed so much for him.
He turned around and retraced his steps, making his way back from where he came. Closer to the wreckage and the bodies of his other admins. The gash on his head burned like ice, but he ignored it. It didn't take long for him to find her, huddled in a corner and sobbing.
"Jacqueline."
