Work friend: Look, S-san is getting married! You remember S-san, the weird one.
Me: Aww I like her. She's a good kind of weird.

When I started calling other departments in my new job, I wondered why a lot of people seemed kind of rude and stressed out on the phone compared to my previous job.
Me, on the phone a year later: So you’re saying I have to translate the whole thing from English AGAIN?! Er, haha. I mean. That’s...gonna take some time.
Me: my housemate sees you a lot in the cafeteria, but he says you’re always surrounded by people. he saw us having lunch the other day too but he didn’t come and say hi because he didn’t want to bother us.
Y-san: he should come and said hello!
Me: I know!
Y-san: then we can ignore him and carry on eating

Coworker: So are you going home on time today?
Me: Noooo :/
Me: I'm going to move out! I can't take it any more. Coworker: how many times have I heard this already? Me: I really mean it this time!! ... (So um. I might not move out.)

thoughts from a cold cold office
- why am i here
- what is the point, really - i could quit and get a new job, somewhere with central heating - i know it will be warm in two hours but it’s cold RIGHT NOW - I mean, I’m wearing a fleece, a jumper, a down coat, a scarf, thermal boots, and three heat packs. oh and a blanket. there’s not many more clothes I can put on - probably not socially acceptable to bring a sleeping bag into the office - how is anyone around me getting anything done - I just heard my section head rub his hands together in an attempt to warm them up - how is that guy two desks away only wearing a shirt - i wish i was him. but only in winter, because summer would suck.
coworker: it feels like cold air is coming out of the heaters - but I just checked and the thermostat is set to 28 degrees
boss: are you SURE it’s not set on aircon mode?? I’m so cold i can’t concentrate...
me: according to the wall thermometer it just went under 16 degrees again
boss: well I have a meeting now so *leaves*
I wish i had important meetings to go to in warm rooms no room in the world could be colder than this one
