Sora glanced over, and for a second, he could almost believe she was okay. She looked rather peaceful in her sleep. But the sight of that arm... it said otherwise. He let out a quiet sigh, and went back to his work. Soon, he was jotting down notes, recording his observations.
It was most certainly a parasitic infection. Yet the particular strain wasn't one he was familiar with. Either it was entirely new, or it was a new, mutated strain of something that already existed. The fact it could take over humans was concerning. It must be rather sophisticated, compared to the usual parasite.
He jotted down more notes, and came up with a different ideas to could try. A cure would be quite difficult to make, but perhaps treating the symptoms...
He thought hard about it. He ran a few tests on the blood sample. He made more notes.
It recoiled away from heat and fire, like most things. It wanted to bond with other kinds of blood, which was odd, considering the type of blood he tested it with should have rejected the type of blood it was. It seemed to mutate the blood itself too. Would it mutate the body? It was a possibility.
After a while, he was stuck thinking, and not doing, looking over his notes. It might be beneficial to run tests on one of the infected, but... the idea was a bit sickening. The best way to run those kinds of tests would be on a living subject, but...
It made him feel very sick. This whole situation did. He hurriedly stood up, and made it over to the trash can, before he vomited, the stress and sick, disgusting situation catching up to him. Could he really do this? This was awful...
He wiped his mouth, and tossed the gloves. Then, he washed his face. He didn't need to potentially make things worse for Konomi...
He eventually collapsed into a chair, staring up at the ceiling as he began to silently cry, wishing that he wasn't in this horrible situation. Wishing he didn't have to do this.
