I apologize for not updating much on here. A lot has been happening lately. I make more of a note to write letters than doing entries here, but I won’t exactly be able to write anything down anytime soon.... the birds have shut the lights off and closed off any access to natural light. We will be living in the pitch black until someone kills another person.... I hope that we can find a way out of this.

I went to my med student friend’s house today and I just had to take a look at all the lovely books! (and do the tired “they made a book about the show! joke, of course).
Anatomy books are just the prettiest!

Earlier this evening we were all taken as hostages on this ship to participate in a “killing game”. I don’t know who this person or people who came up with the game think they are, but I refuse to stoop to murdering in cold blood. I really don’t know what to feel about it to be honest.
Once they had started the rules, the harsh reality of this sick and twisted game dawned on me. A coroner in a game of death and murder?
How cruel and unfair.
I am hoping that no one falls for these schemes and murders anyone. I don’t want to have to perform an autopsy on my friends... But so goes my fate. This happens everytime something good happens. I thought that I had finally had become relatively good friends with Leon and that in a few hours we would be parting our separate ways, connecting with each other over long distance and possibly the occasional visit.
I feel so awful. I had promised his older sister that things were going to be ok and that I would look after him. But how am I supposed to help protect him if I can’t even keep my own composure when I physically see violence...
Dammit!
I feel so useless. Why couldn’t I have done more. Why couldn’t I just have stayed strong..... instead I crumbled faster than an overbaked muffin.... I feel so embarrassed that Leon had to take care of me in that moment. There was rarely a moment where I had felt so hopeless.
And of course this stupid day had to be directly after.... This is the most rotten and unfair luck. If we didn’t have to sort out this whole mess tomorrow, I would like to curl up into a ball in the dark and hope that it was all a dream.:

nothing brings me more joy and inner peace than when my grandfather (a bookseller) saves a box full of old art and history books, postcards from the 1920’s - 1940’s, ticket stubs from the 30’s & a stack of old letters from the early 1920’s and 1960’s. ✍🏻✉️☕️🕯🕰

The kidneys are such a small organ, but their impact on the body is phenomenal. There’s so much detail in this chapter that I have to remember, including anatomical structure, blood supply, flow direction, disorders of the kidneys, etc. I hope I can get the information down before the first midterm!
