As a relationship anarchist with a core group of friends where everyone and their mother is unapologetically polyamorous, the more I watch the pilot the more I realize that my biggest wish for this show would be for it to have Jai and Pik sit down and talk about what they both want from their relationship, and to have them consciously shape it into something that suits both their needs, regardless of what it'd look like to others; the scene where Pik is asking fucking Google or worse, ChatGPT or whatever that garbage is called now what friends should or shouldn't do made me shudder even on the very first, giddy watch (because more Teetee and Por on my screen! I miss them!). Whatever made Jai a chronic dater, whether it's trauma or simply because this is how he ticks, let him become aware of it and own it, because without that, he'll keep repeating the old patterns no matter how much he loves Pik. Whatever made Pik stay silent all this time, whatever makes him not confront Jai either way, let him become aware of it, own it and act on it, because otherwise the resentment will erode the love he still has for Jai. Let them make deliberate choices, together, let them be honest with themselves and each other and communicate, please. Don't make them just fall into either getting together as lovers or breaking up completely just to fit the goddamn amatonormative narrative.

I watched it live and was genuinely impressed with the variety and quality of the pilots. It's good to have something to look forward to beyond the next month...

My rankings (in the order of how excited I am):

“S” - Vibrating out of my skin. I wanted Teetee and Por in a story that would be very different from DWY and I love how messed up it promises to be. I foresee myself producing a shitload of essays and gifs once it drops... And I want the drunken kiss scene copy and pasted into the series, it was fucking exquisite

“A” - Super excited for various reasons... especially Uke had me gagged. Hope it gets made and turns out amazing, please and thank you

“B” - Excited!

“C” - Curious enough to give these a chance even though each one has a very specific and subjective turnoff

“D” - Do not care

currently watching/last series: Duang with You. I didn't expect to love it as much as I do; the only good thing about it ending tomorrow is that I'll be able to resume watching Veil of Shadows (I've gotten to episode 7 and had to stop because DwY took over my brain almost completely).
