It truly is comeback season!

Akune Haruse from Contrast is playing one of Iwanaga’s ex-boyfriends in the new season of Love is Better the Second Time Around. He is described as a designer 4 years younger than Miyata and the youngest of Iwanaga’s former flames — bet Shiraishi hates him too 😂

Rounding out the revolving door of Iwanaga’s past are Onuki Yusuke, playing an editor who owns a small company and who had a relationship with Iwanaga during college. And lastly Fukami Motoki, playing another renowned professor who got involved with Iwanaga during their master course.

According to the synopsis all of them will converge onto Miyata and Iwanaga once the professor gives an interview stating that he found the one. Apparently the man has some unfinished business with his exes and Miyata will get caught on the crossfire…

Interestingly enough, during the fanmeeting where they announced season 2 of School Trip, the crew conducted a survey with fans in attendance about what they wanted to see next for the now franchise:

The boys in the Third-year and a graduation trip.

Them going in another school trip with a different location.

To see the group in university.

Watarai and Hioki living together.

Side stories for the other three Heavenly Kings.

And new characters, possibly rivals, to show up in the new season.

These were the main ones, but they were also open to suggestions. So the script for season 2 is not a lock — they already adapted some content from the second volume of the novel in the special episodes, so they will probably infuse original material in this new season.

Fun fact: School Trip is going through it's second broadcast re-run due popular demand in Japan.

On a sadder note: one minute of silence for Kan's bunny teeth – gone, but never forgotten...
