Alison strolled down the streets of Baberton, doing almost anything to keep her mind occupied. Her mom had gotten a little easier to deal with, though not much, and since her cousin didn’t exactly approve of her boyfriend, the girl found that she’d been spending too much time in Kane’s flat. Though after her short walk around, that was where she found herself. Only instead of returning to an empty flat, as she expected, she was pleasantly surprised. “Hey babe, I thought you weren’t gonna be home until later?”

Kane had come home to an empty flat, showering after work before starting dinner. He stood at the kitchen island, chopping some vegetables when he heard the door open. He smiled when he heard Ali’s voice.  “Dom let me escape a few hours early and guess what? I actually asked him about that raise and he agreed. So I was thinking we could celebrate with some steaks.”
