I blew the dust off of my N64 so I could have a human experience with Tori Kelly. "Celebrity interviews are always focused on subjects that are current, usually trying to get a gossip scoop or being used as an opportunity to promote a product. I wanted to come at it from a different angle and create a space for an artist to come into that doesn’t feel like a tired press room, and more like a space that they would enjoy in their free time. I did some research to find out what Tori’s favourite was so that I could create an environment that was comfortable for her and allow me to open her up and ask some more personal questions about childhood, life, friends and love. The reason I stepped in front of the camera and not Aaron, who we all know is incredible at interviews, is because I wanted to take away any feeling of a normal interview and to me, the best way to do that was to put in an ‘interviewer’ who had never done an interview in their life.
