so i've been hearing people talk about how the adaptation is going to address the part of the sea of monsters where ares gifts clarisse a ship run by dead confederate soldiers considering who the actors are for annabeth and clarisse herself

and this may be a bit of a controversial take but i think it would actually be really interesting if they included that detail in the show since we can already see in season 1 they've been emphasizing how generally shitty the gods are to their children (i'm specifically thinking of what athena did in ep 4). and since we know from the books clarisse and ares don't exactly have the best relationship i think this would be another way of exploring just how morally flawed the gods really are. imo it would be a subtle/not-so-subtle for newer younger fans and older fans respectively that there is no clear good and evil between the gods and titans its more of a lesser of two evils situation (which would also go with how the show is being written in a way that monsters aren't just mindless evil creatures like with medusa in the sense that luke isn't entirely wrong in his philosophy, a sentiment that percy ends up agreeing with more and more as time goes on)

yk what was really sad about the loki season 2 finale?

it was that the majority of his arc during the show was learning not to want a crown or a throne and learning the importance of family and love, but then at the end, in order to save his new family that he had gained he had to give them up and forever be burdened with a throne at the end of time he would never be able to escape.

during tlt percy starts humming "just keep swimming" whenever he gets stressed and ofc annabeth is super annoyed at first and tells percy to shut up but then he keeps forgetting and starts doing it again and she kind of gives up. after the quest is over it doesnt happen again after the wuest is over.

but then the next summer tyson dies and annabeth grabs percys hand and hums the tune under her breath and it doesnt erase the pain but percy feels a little lighter.

annabeth gets kidnapped and percy hums "just keep swimming" to himself late at night when he doesnt want to sleep only to have to face nightmares. none of the others understand. grover has an idea of what it means to percy but he wasnt there with them on their last quest and doesnt truly know.

percy is dead and annabeth hums "just keep swimming" to herself through the tears until she sees percys face and the song is lost in her anger.

they are at war. percy mutters "just keep swimming" to her before running off to fight another monster and when he finds pauls car annabeth captures his gaze and says it back.

percy is gone and annabeth curls up on his bed and hums herself to sleep.

walking through hell and too exhausted to speak they hum the tune to each other to make sure the other doesnt stop walking, hopeless as it feels.

"just keep swimming" they whisper to each other when one has a particularly bad nightmare.

"just keep swimming" and they fight to protect their home once again.

wars are in the past and now the song motivates them to finish essays that are hell on their dyslexia as the pair struggles through college. they will have their happy ending.
