"Are you going to be over for dinner or do you think you'll arrive later than that?"
Looks around for some signal and finally finds a few. ‘This just came through and I’ve just landed in Berlin! Where should I say your address is?’
Tino did just that, his slim fingers moving to crank up the dial on the heater as he rubbed his hands together. “It’s okay Saksa, honestly.” He said with a smile. “Winter is arriving and with him, he brings his cold weather hm? He laughed as he messed his hair up again.
“Ja, winter’s coming,” Ludwig agreed flatly, though he was inwardly glad that Tino was still cheerful like usual. He cleared his throat, his mind shifting to when they would get back home. “I’m planning on making schnitzel and spaetzle for dinner tonight. I thought it would be nice to have traditional German food for your first night.”
“Still colder in Finland.” He said with a small laugh, still in a cute way he would laugh. “Of course I want to try traditional German food, why else would I come to Germany?” He smiled again. “Oh and I wanted to go see Gilbert, is he around? It’s been a long time since I’ve spoken to him. I think the last time is when he came to test out my sauna. I think you’d like it Ludwig, but you have to go naked.”
He felt a glow of pleasure when the little Finn laughed and said he wanted to try Germany’s signature foods. “Gilbert?” A heavy sigh escaped him. “He may be home. It’s hard to know with him.” At the thought of being naked with Tino, he felt his face heat up and desperately hoped that a blush wasn’t obviously visible. “Nudity isn’t really a problem. I’ve heard that many visitors to my country are shocked by our openness to it.”
“Oh that’s good.” He said with a smile, which inched larger as he saw the blush. “Lukas always said you were too bureaucratic for fun, but I don’t see it.” He said with a small hum. “Well next time you’re up we can go for a steam.”
He didn’t really understand why Lukas was talking about him, or why he thought bureaucracy precluded fun, but Ludwig figured it would be best not to comment on that part. “Ja, we’ll do that sometime. I’ve been to the baths at Kiko’s house, and they tend to be relaxing.”
“It’s not the same.” His reaction seemed blunt. He looked out the window with rather furrowed eyebrows. His sauna was not like Kiku’s bath-house it was completely different. How could Ludwig even compare the two things? They were completely different.
Eyes on the road, he didn’t notice Tino’s distress. He hummed lightly in thought. “Then it will be all the more interesting to compare. What would you say are the differences?”
“A Finnish sauna is one-hundred percent better.” He huffed. “It’s cosy in there and it’s a good place to relax with friends.” He explained. “Me and Berwald and Lukas and Matthias always hang out there.”
Still oblivious, Ludwig attempted a smile and nodded. “That sounds lovely. So what else do you want to to do this weekend? The Reichstag will only take part of one day.”
“Well, I feel as if you should be my tour guide.” He said with a laugh. “What do you think we should be doing while I’m here?”

The text came while he was doing a final bit of cleaning in his already meticulously clean living room. “Dammit, why didn’t I ask when his flight was coming in earlier?” He quickly slipped shoes on while calling Tino. “My house is a little out of the way, so I’m just going to pick you up. It’ll be… about 40 minutes, okay?”
Tino checked the text. ‘Ye, Finnair. I’ll start making my way outside now x’ The Finn picked up his small suitcase and began to bumble out of the airport. The weather wasn’t too bad, it was a bit windy but in a refreshing way.
As Ludwig pulled up to the Finnair part of the pick-up, he spotted Tino waiting alone, with the wind tugging at his hair and a small suitcase at his feet. He was able to pull right up in front of where he was standing, guiltily realizing that everyone else from Tino’s flight must have already left the airport. The German started apologizing as soon as the Finn got in the car. “I’m sorry. I should have known when you were getting here days ago and been here when you arrived. I neglected my duty as host.” The whole time he was speaking, he kept his eyes resolutely facing the road.
The Finn pulled his long, classic Scandinavian coat around him, using his right hand to pull the left side closer, and in his left the suitcase he was carrying. He watched as the classical German car rolled up and he offered a smile, his teeth chattering slightly together. Tino walked to the passenger side and climbed in, offering a thank you and placed a kiss on the German’s cheek before placing his suitcase between his legs. He took off his long coat and relaxed into his seat. “It’s alright Saksa” He smiled over.
"Are you going to be over for dinner or do you think you'll arrive later than that?"

Tino looked at his phone as he waited for his bag to come around. ‘You don’t have to do that Ludwig, it’s okay I can grab a taxi :)’ It was sweet for the German to offer but Tino didn’t want to feel like a burden. ‘If you’re on your way I’ll just have a coffee - text me when you’re close’

Presenting: The Nordics!
Finland “ Belgian waffles are great !! ^^ ”
What are grammatical rules regarding the letter 'y' in Finnish?
It is pronounced pretty much as ü in German. It is a front vowel. Finnish has a rule for vowel harmony, so it should only be combined with other front vowels (ä, ö) or mid vowels (e, i) in one word. Compound words don’t count, and you can see some exceptions in loan words (such as pyramidi, “pyramid”). I think that’s it!
Welcome back Ludwig!
Ja, danke, Tino. It’s good to be back, I think.
Oh that would be great then! I could go meet your brother at the same time, it’s been a while since I’ve spoken to him. When would you like me over?
Yes, I’m sure Gilbert will love having you there as well.
*He paused, considering* Maybe you can come Friday? Or next Friday, if that’s too soon? Stay the weekend, maybe?
[thinks and pulls out a tiny calendar] I’m free for a long weekend; Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday this week but I seem to be… [flips page] rather busy all next week.
*inwardly is pleased that Tino carries a calendar like he does* That would be great! With a long weekend like that, you could see lots of things in Berlin. *pulls out his own calendar* So this weekend?
Sounds like a date, I mean a plan. [laughs a bit awkwardly but offers a smile.] I'll see you next Friday then. [humms and waves as he walks off down the street]
