Helping you learn and memorise Japanese

Hey there I'm Hannah and I've been studying Japanese since I was 10 (I think) and I have a lot of trouble trying to remember my Kanji and figured I can't be the only one. I've always found it easier to remember things if I have a visual image to associate them with and thought it may be the same for most people and so I created this blog. I hope it helps!

I am trying to learn Japanese again.　☆

This could go very well or very bad I don’t know. But I’m buying a few textbooks from a friend of mine who’s no longer learning and I’m gathering resources. This is going to be a free time study type thing though to avoid it becoming a stress to me again and hopefully I will learn slowly and trying to read and write Japanese won’t make me want to die again like it used to in large doses (the reason I stopped studying it at school and the reason my activity on this blog is a little intermittent).

This has all been triggered by the fact that one of my Japanese friends is actually coming to England to visit and I want to try hard over the next few weeks before they arrive to brush up on my Japanese so I can speak a little to them…

It’s not online but I loved Read Japanese Today by Len Walsh. It doesn’t address pronunciation but I found it great for learning characters.

Thank you so much guys I'm actually using memrise at the moment and my teaching used to use erin and I couldn't remember the url. I'm just trying to take it easy this time instead of getting upset and rushing through things trying to learn too fast. Thanks a lot for those links and suggestions though <3

hi. cute blog:) well, I'm wondering what *sushi rice* is? Is it certain product name or what's the difference from regular rice? I'm curious.

There's not really any such thing as 'regular rice' it all depends what part of the world you're from as to what you consider 'regular rice' to be. Sushi rice is a short grain rice used in Japan that is sticky and often has other things added to flavour it a little. Like how maybe with long grain rice you might add a little salt or something while cooking it. I believe it's the staple food of Japan but I could be wrong. Hope this helps, you can always use google to find out more. (If anyone has any corrections or anything to add, feel free to).
