I have reach the chapter 93!...and I still want Olruggio to be scare of Qifrey.

If I understand it the spell erase the memories that made him cry, but that may not take away the fear of all the process of erasing your memories or the feelings around it. Even if the spell erase all the memories of the moment there is still the confusion and the lack of something in your mind, that has to be scary.

I know now that Olruggio would forgive Qifrey, he would willing sacrifice himself for him, because he is that kind, but I don't think that it make the whole process less scary, at least not in all the cases. There are moments in which Qifrey has explain everything to Olruggio, and it is Olruggio who offers his memory for Qifrey's, in those cases Olruggio has the time to ratonalize what is happening and he does some kind of peace with it, I think those moments he wouldn't feel scare, because he got to that decision. However, there it seems to be moments in which Qifrey doesn't explain to him anything. For example the first time we see that Qifrey erased Olruggio's memory in the manga, he doesn't explain anything besides that he is getting blind, he doesn't explain why, he justs takes his hat and forces it over Olruggio. In those cases, I believe that Olruggio would feel scare.

Refering to my last post of the topic, I still think that Olruggio would be scare of Qifrey but I will reframe it and refine it. I present: Olruggio been unconsciously scare of Qifrey.

Olruggio's memories may be gone, but what about muscle memory? Maybe the mind of Olruggio has forget all the encounters with Qifrey and his spell, but Olruggio's body, that has been experiencing this through all its life, must have some recall of it. Maybe Olruggio would flinch when Qifrey moves to fast, or just put some distance between them when Qifrey takes off his hat, his body screaming at him that he should run, but Olruggio not understanding why if "it is only Qifrey".

Olruggio using less and less his hat, or anything over his head, because it make him feel uncomfortable.

Olruggio developing certain resistance to the spell. I think that thanks to the same spell been use over his mind, breaking the connections that the memory would have made about the subject of Qifrey's condition, his mind would start doing different connections, trying to save as much information as it can. Olruggio would still forget what Qifrey confesses to him, but he would remember more, having more memories of the encounter, the blanks in his mind been more specific and detalied. Maybe he would remember talking to Qifrey about the glasses, before he "fall sleep". Maybe he knows, even when he wants to deny it, that if he doesn't remember the converstion afterwards it must be Qifrey's fault, but he doesn't want to think about it so he just pretends to have forgot everything.

I think he would know that Qifrey is lying to him, because he taught him how to, but he wants to believe that if his best friend is lying to him it must be for a good reason.

I still think he should notice more how Qifrey can be so intimidating, like a say before; he would notice Qifrey been taller than him, using water magic that he could use against his fire magic; how his mood would change quickly at the mention of certain things. Qifrey would have goosebumps or be alert without understanding completly way.

He also would start looking more closely to the girls, just to be sure that nothing has change between the apprentices and their master, just to be sure that is only him who has perceive this change in Qifrey, because if is only him the one living in this strange limbo of knowing and not knowing if Qifrey did something to him, is okay, but if Qifrey does something to the girls Olruggio would report him, because if Qifrey got to that point, then the Qifrey who Olruggio thought his friend has dissapeared, leaving behind this stranger.

Olruggio feeling guilty of been alert around Qifrey, and he doesn't even know why, because that is his best friend...why can't he be at ease around his best friend?

Qifrey noticing, he didn't wanted to acknowledge it at first, but he sees the tension over Olruggio shoulders when they are alone, and how he would throw more glares at him when they are talking, as if he feared that Qifrey would jump over him at any given moment.

Qifrey looking how Olruggio forces himself to look relax when they are in front of the girls, how he would throw jokes and comments here and there to distract them from his own body language

Qifrey having a new source of anxiety and stress, because his best friend is starting to fear him.
