[ooc; I was going to wait until after my vacation to do this, but it’s taking longer than expected for us to leave, so. Here I go.

I’m putting Orihime’s blog on permanent hiatus, effective immediately. The only reason I’m not deleting it is because I would love to some day return to her muse, if I ever start feeling better about roleplaying her, and I won’t be archiving the blog because I’ll probably just restore the same blog. I don’t see the point of deleting it or remaking when there’s nothing wrong with it.

Those who have been following me for a while know that I’ve been really struggling for the past six months or so, in all areas of my life. Roleplay is no exception, and while I’d like to say that it’s an enjoyable hobby for me, it more often than not turns out to be a burden. I can’t do everything I used to be able to do. I see people interact with people who have hurt me and/or my friends, and I can’t say it doesn’t deeply affect me. When I come here, I’m uncomfortable most of the time, and not just because I’m worried about how my followers will react to my writing. 

Additionally, I’ve been as outspoken as I can afford to be about issues that affect me and my friends… yet it seems like it never makes a difference. The same issues — bigotry, harassment, and general disregard for others’ needs — appear over and over again, so I’ve given up even trying to address them for the most part. All the same, they still affect me. 

Something had to give. I’m sad that it had to be this blog, since I love both Orihime and my ships, but I’m doing damage control. I want to enjoy my hobby again. If that means giving up one to save the other three, then that’s what I’ll do.

For those of you who have me on Skype, I’d love to continue threads or start new ones (whether with Orihime or another one of my muses — including muses that no longer have blogs, or never did!) All other threads are dropped, though, since I don’t know if/when I’ll be coming back. 

You can find me at @marigoldsandpoetry, @audeamusguardiare, or @earthseveringwind. Those blogs are also currently on hiatus, but I’m hoping to pick up activity there again soon.

     he was at the end of his shift, standing by the counter at the nurse’s station signing off for the night when the girl showed up. uryuu’s friend. ryuuken arched a brow at the sudden inquisition, before registering the young woman’s motivation.

–that’s right. they were seniors now. ( uryuu never consulted him about these things. besides frustratingly adamant about being a quincy and not being a doctor, ryuuken didn’t really know what his son was into for his future. )

“ can’t decide for your career choice? ” he returned the sign-in book to the nurse and gave orihime his full attention. “ it’s a lot of work. and you are going to be in school for longer than most of your peers. it is a rewarding job, and it pays well. but i won’t take this path unless you are really committed to it. ”

Orihime watched as the man went about his business. Given how late it already was in the evening, she had to wonder: what time did he get home every night? And no doubt he got up very early to come back here. She wonders and quickly dismisses the idea of a happy home life, with just him and Ishida-kun. (Hadn’t he lost his mother, too? Around the same time as Kurosaki-kun apparently did?)

At any rate, she makes plans to ask Kurosaki-kun’s father the same question, too. Just... differing perspectives and all. At least, it can’t hurt to hear from more than one source.

“I thought it might be... I don’t mind hard work, though! I was mostly wondering... do you help people as much as you thought you would? Or is that not why you became a doctor?” It hadn’t even occurred to her before this moment that people might become doctors for lots of different reasons, not just because they wanted to help people who were hurt or sick.
