I feel like I will be repeating myself, but looking at old gif sets, the ONLY thing I have never been a fan of is that they are too pink-pastel colored, TOO desaturizated and FRICK, if that bothered my eyes in, like, TEN-ISH years ago, it SURE still annoys me in FREAKING 2026.

LIKE, I understand many gif-set makers loved the de-saturization thing because blog "aesthetic", but... it's still annoying :)

(also me reading a certain webtoon in... early 2020, and abandoning it because, I STILL don't understand WHY the author picked pink-pastel or similar pastel colors for their entire art. And I know it's a thing about my laptop(s) screen RGB's colors vs my cellphone RGB colors, but... like... I was in my late 20s, my eyes shouldn't be suffering if I wanted to read it in my laptop, if you feel me).

I kinda want to make a post of lists of my 10 favorite things/charas/etc, but I always feel like I want to make them... flashy, lol. But I never have been that great in PS (or any editing software) to know what I was doing. Heck, I still try in GIMP, but it's so confusing and some of its tools are TOO different from PS, not to mention that last time I touched PS was about 6-7 years ago.

Tbh, I always felt envious of people who made these threads/posts where they were doing edit requests and the like, and I tried my best to learn basic editing skills (still proud of an avatar thing I made TWENTY years ago, lmao), but somehow I am too impatient and the like (how did i even graduate from graphic design, be my guest).

I still plan to! I have an older post about favorite characters around, but it's been almost 10 years since and my tastes and characters have come and gone, so. I just want to yap about stuff that I like and what I consider my top favorites, it's just... too difficult, lol

I will say...

this bunkouban set is really making me to reconsider learning Japanese just so I can read it in its fullness, lol.

I read a fan tl before (and it was a recent rereading as well), so I DO have a certain context* of what the charas are talking about in certain panels... plus the few words I have probably caught up in any multimedia visual and audio material I have been listening constantly in the past decade. I need to polish again my hiragana reading, though, lol.

*I say this bluntly though - the fan tls out there are not exactly the best, and comparing the actual pages and the scans, I can absolutely tell.

For example, a whole half page has some dialogue in spaces they shouldn't be there; the first few chapters a new TL group took over, years later, you can also tell they have ESL and some moments do feel quite awkward in context... they DID improve with time, but given the author's actual handwriting being used in certain panels that is unrecognizable at times (it is I, the one which handwriting is also the worst at times, so I get it), many of those remained untranslated - didn't help the visual quality of the actual scans, either.

But as always, this opens the gates of getting whole set of series that I did like, but I have zero hope they will be licensed over here (the shorter, the better - 1000 MXN pesos for shipping alone for 11 vols that were over 2 KG, is criminal)

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be apart of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.

I'm probably remember wrong, but didn't the ALT text thing work even when you hovered your mouse there in the dashboard?

I'm looking in my (custom) blog and the images that do have it, if you click in the "ALT" square, the description appears. But in the dashboard (in Firefox AND Edge), if you click on the square, it doesn't. It's kind of weird, because I SWEAR it was kinda still working months... ago? (and if you inspect the ALT square element, the description is still THERE, so I dunno what's going on...)

For accessibility sake, especially. I might not need it right now, but I was looking at a post with barely CONTEXT in a tag that, because I might not be cultured enough to GET THE FUCKING JOKE, I had to go to the OP's custom blog to understand it! why is it working in the custom blogs and not the dashboard view's ones???

I wish I could say smth about Chrome, but my phone can barely handle the dashboard in an old version of the browser GUESS WHAT, it doesn't work in the dashboard in Chrome mobile either, sjjdsdjas, and the example I looked at (a post I published three years ago, ouch) is in the mobile view thing from ye olde days of the platform (ie [username].tumblr.com, not the tumblr.com/[username] one), and I STILL tapped it and showed the description... so... what's going on, though?

I'm sitting here wondering what happened to Game - Suit no Sukima, because it has been on hiatus FOR YEARS.

I know the author made a similar plotted spin-off (but in high school, so, uhm... hmmm...) and that has been on hiatus as well?

(I truly don't understand how the author EVEN agreed to make a spin-off while the main one is supposedly being serialized... but I suppose Manga Park, while being an online outlet, works differently than a physical manga magazine, AND I GUESS changing the dynamics from adults to high schoolers is a little different... so, ok, I GUESS...)

And, the thing is that... I even checked the author's sns months ago, and that has been also slightly frozen in time.

And I suppose it's a dang shame because for something that is supposedly a different kind of josei smut title (not a whole smut-plot kind of thing, making the FL more independent and acting in her own terms in series like this), it being stuck in hiatus (with no official reason whatsoever), kind of turns off the point of following it...

And it's like... it's the only josei het smut title that Panini MX ever licensed in my recent memory (Nana technically doesn't count) and it's such a dang shame they haven't licensed ANOTHER one, while this one title has been in hiatus for over 3 years? (We barely have our shoujo dose from that publisher/licensor partly bc they finally caught the wall of "up to date in Japan", which Penguin's Distrito Manga is in the same case AS WELL, and while newer licenses aren't THAT bad, so to speak -a mix of old and new titles... right now they have been getting a few more from Hakusensha, like Tamon or the Otaku Vampire or, HECK, the surprising announcement of Hanakimi, for some surprising reason???, it's like... you know).
