Holy shit I assume everyone is doing an up and down jiggle and maybe a side to side jiggle but if you jiggle your phone forward and backwards he jiggles in and out, too

something about the whole "fuck authority" outlook that amuses me is that people tend to fall into two incorrect camps. the first assumes that hating authority is something for edgy teens to do and you grow out of it when you reach the fabled "real world." the second assumes it's about sticking it to the establishment -- government, cops, etc.
but true authority haters know the secret third thing. and that's that authority is insidious and you have to fuck it everywhere you find it. when you know something is damn well wrong but the doctor tells you it's fine and you think well i'm no expert -- surprise! you have conformed to authority. when you see somebody acting a clown in public and everyone is uncomfortable but nobody says anything -- surprise! this too is a form of authority. when you see a consequence and think to yourself "it's fine, i just won't do [thing] and then i don't have to worry about it" you have altered your style of living because of -- surprise! authority.
when you tell yourself you can't be/do x or y because That's Not How It Works. when you refuse to believe someone's lived experience because apparently it shouldn't work like that. when you come up against something outside your understanding and ridicule it or assume it's a falsehood. guess what's behind all that! that's right. someone else's authority.
we realise this as teens because we're trapped 24/7 with teachers, parents, and guardians who have ultimate power over us and we recognise the inherent unfairness and injustice of many of their decisions. when we grow older and gain more authority ourselves many forget this fact and either think it's useless immature teenage rebellion or that the issues we must rebel against grow in proportion to our new responsibilities. we forget about our duty to root it out wherever we find it. and if you don't start small you'll never get the big shit. there's a reason people don't walk into the gym and start lifting 200lb on their first day.
anyway fuck authority. and before anyone comes at me talking about degrees and experts and "oh so we should just say fuck anyone with any advantage over us?" authority is not to be conflated with experience. experience advises and authority forces. one wants you curious and independent and the other wants you unquestioning and compliant. and that my friend is the difference.
Whenever I find myself having a positive interaction with law enforcement and going "Whoa, maybe police aren't actually all that bad" I have to remember to ask the following questions:
Would this officer have treated me the same if I weren't white?
Would this officer have treated me the same if I weren't fluent in English or if I had a foreign accent?
Would this officer have treated me the same if I were visibly trans or gender-nonconforming?
Would this officer have treated me the same if I were not well-groomed or wearing nice clothing?
Would this officer have treated me the same if I were visibly disabled?
Would this officer have treated me the same if I had a "threatening" face/voice/appearance/etc.?
Would this officer have treated me the same if I had a lisp/stutter/other speech impediment?
Would this officer have treated me the same if I were accompanied by anyone of the above demographics?
Would this officer have treated me the same if...?
Maybe in some situations the answer would actually be yes to all of these questions, but as a young white American woman who is fluent in English and has an extremely average and pretty nonthreatening appearance, I will never be able to know for sure. And it is not fair whatsoever to pretend that all police are nice or forgiving or virtuous or whatever because of the experience that I, an extremely privileged person, have with them.
So yeah. Check your privilege, I guess.
“Technically, all males are ‘performative males’. Haven’t you read Judith Butler?”
as we see reprisals of Y2K skinny culture (as part of fascism) people are making a lot of posts like ‘if you’re too young to remember, it was so toxic. people shamed [skinny woman] for being fat!’ and perhaps it’s useful to bring up someone like kate winslet circa 1999 being fatshamed to express how truly dire the situation was/is but i find it increasingly frustrating that the response seems by and large to be ‘wow that’s awful! she wasn’t even fat!’ [so clearly that was wrong!] and not the real point: ‘so imagine how horrible it was for actual fat people, who also don’t deserve the far worse treatment they got/get.’

so many. stupid fucking people. smugly wrong. the term . "all art is political". does not mean. every artist puts political intent into their work. no. the guy drawing dicks on the subway did not intend any deep message by it. HOWEVER. all art. IS political. he chose to draw that dick. for a reason. society shaped what he finds funny. what he finds shocking. the fact he chose to draw a dick at all says something about his society. actually, the fact it is a dick and not a pussy is itself political. we are all. ALL. shaped by our environments. in an alternate universe a woman is drawing a vulva on the wall. and shes saying "TCH! this isnt political. stupid liberals". all art. has political CONTEXT. that is a more specific way to phrase it. because we live in a society. who has access to art? where is the art located? who is the artist? why did they draw that in that specific location. what led to them even having the sharpie they used to draw the dick to begin with. their society shaped their tools! their society shaped their choice of subject! their society shaped the location of their art! but these people are too stupid to understand this. so theyll continue pretending that they are not shaped by their political environment. SAD!
out of all the posts ive made that have blown up this has to be the most fascinating Given how i was too drunk to remember how to form full sentences. but was i wrong? no.
"male socialized" this, "female socialized" that. I WASNT SOCIALIZED!!!!! #straydog
I took my little brother (autistic, mostly non verbal) out and he was using his voice keyboard to tell me something, and this little boy (maybe 4 or 5?) heard him and asked me "Is he a robot??" I tried to explain to him that no, he isn't a robot, he just communicates differently, but my darling brother was in the background max volume "I am robot I am robot I am robot I am robot"
My little brother insisted if I was going to post about him, he wanted a cut of the "profits". When I explained to him that Tumblr isn't monetized, and is pretty pointless, he and my older brother pointed out that he'd still be bringing me "fame and notoriety" if the post got "big". So we agreed, if the post hit 10k notes, which seemed extremely farfetched and silly at the time, I'd take my little brother out for sushi (his favorite food) and let him eat as much as he wants.
I guess God wanted the little robot to enjoy some sushi 🍣 🥲
