Hello, hello!  For this Resbang I had the wonderful opportunity to work with fantastic @oblivion-time on the story  Wealth and Nothing Else which can also be found here!  Maka and Soul has been dating for a while and now it’s time to meet Soul’s side of the family on the other side of the country. When economy is changed to first class her boyfriend reveals to be wealthy beyond her imagination and his family is no less. It’s a struggle between acceptance and rejection and Soul has to choose what is more important, his family or the love of his life. Now as many of you know, I cannot draw. Or paint. I cannot even draw stick figured correctly. But what I can do, is cook. So obviously that’s what I did.  So for this story I wanted to do two things.  The First was to recreate something eaten in the story. Hot chocolate turned out to be perfect. I’ve never made hot chocolate before, not even from a packet, so making it entirely from scratch was a fun experience. I also got to use my cooking torch (FIRE), so that’s always a huge plus for me. It came out out better than I expected, and I’ve already made it a few times since.  I also recorded a video on how I went about making it. Unfortunately tumblr and youtube seem to not like showing the actual title card, but these things happen. It’s a short video, but should be easy to follow if you’re interested in the recipe.  The Second was to create something based on something in the story itself. I settled on the theme of black and red. That was actually a bit of a conundrum for me, as outside of deserts I was having trouble coming up with something suitable. In the end I settled on filet medallions cooked rare to give a nice, red color, with a spicy, red wine & dark chocolate sauce as the topping. Of course I had to sprinkle on some pomegranate seeds, just for the aesthetic. 

That ended up being a fantastic combination, though making the chocolate sauce was touch and go for a bit. Balancing the bitterness of the dark and red wine with the honey I used to sweeten it was harder than I expected, but in the end I was able to pull off something quite delicious.  Now that we’ve reached the end, you should really go read. OT did a fantastic job on the story and I have no doubt you will enjoy it (just like I enjoyed all dis food).  Until next time,  Red

12: Have you eve stayed up 48 hours?  

I.... think I have?  I’m pretty sure I did at the first anime con I went to.  We checked out a hotel room thinking we were gonna *actually sleep every night* but in reality, we had no idea there were super late panels until we showed up and tbh we were too hyped to feel any exhaustion.  So much to do, so many pokemon to catch.  So yeah, we ended up just..... not getting but maybe a 2 hour nap on the 3rd night right before we had to drive home... and that was ONLY because we knew we had to drive home.  

62. What makes you happy?  

Accomplishing things.  Being able to check things off the to-do list.  I just feel like if I’m not doing something at all times, I haven’t accomplished anything.  Musical meditation, too.  Not that “hummmmmmmmmm” instrumental, but like... edm that has that mellow base/beat and soothing transitions.  And the feeling of acceptance.  I dunno, it’s just a thing I struggle with.  When I truly feel accepted, I can be comfortable.  

64.  Would it be hard to kiss the last person you kissed?  

Well, I WOULD say no?  Because like.... the last person was the only person I ever kiss: my one and only true bf/practical husband.  But I have to say “Yes” right now, because he’s sick with a head cold and I don’t want to get sick again lmao.  (He might have gotten it from errrrrrr, me.... and I’m STILL getting over the dreaded sinus part as I feared.) I’m not chancing that again till he’s better.  >.>
