Including me?
Especially you. I missed you today, how was work?
Sort of seems like old times, right?
That’s exactly how it feels. Bridget, how are you?
It is…yours especially. What have you been up to, Kara?
Savannah. It’s been too long.
Oh, not a whole lot. Just family, and work.
Flashback to my family.
No. You can tell him for me, though. I’ll be soon back enough, I promise. It definitely was. It’s still one of my favorite places.
Yeah, I love you but how about no. I promised to keep it a secret if he ever asked, or came around but I’m not going to be the one to tell him. Good, Gavin misses you. I miss you. Is there anyone living there these days?
It’s nice to see so many familiar faces around town lately.
But don’t you want to stay forever twenty-nine? No, not yet. I think if I did then I’d have to tell him about Delilah and that just seems uncomfortable. Yes, ma’am. You’re lucky my house is still intact otherwise I wouldn’t wanna come back.
I guess staying twenty-nine wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. Yeah, I can imagine. Well, do you want to tell him about Lilah? Good, I’m holding you to that. It was a great house wasn't it?
I do, even if you’re okay with turning thirty. I’m glad she is, too. I also saw Nick walking around earlier. I wish moving now was an option, but sadly it’s not at the moment. I’m sorry, K. Maybe when Lila’s old enough for school? I hope so. Both of you deserve a little vacation.
I never said I was okay with it, but I don’t know, I like my life. You saw him? Did you talk to him? I know, but I had to try. Fine, but once she’s old enough your but better be back here.
I cannot believe that you just said that. I actually saw Sav earlier today – it seems like she’s doing pretty good. She lives in two pretentious cities, though, so she may just be a future brat. I suppose it is, yeah. I think once Delilah gets a bit older we’ll stay in New York or maybe even move back here, who knows. I’m sure the three of you would love it there. I have a couple spare bedrooms, so that’s already covered if he says yes.
You love me. Oh that’s great. I’m glad shes here. Oh she’ll be fine. I promise. Oh please do Simone, how about moving now? We’d love to have you home, you know that. Even better. I’m sure Mason would love to go.
Thirty is starting to sound like a death sentence. Not only him, but there has to be a few others that haven’t come back in quite some time. Delilah does love her god mother, so I guess it’s alright by me as long as she doesn’t grow up to be a brat. I wouldn’t have thought that, but it all sounds pretty great. Milan is great, but I think the traveling is permanently messing up my eternal clock.
Awe come on Sim, thirty is the new twenty these days. Yeah you’re probably right, I haven’t seen much of Savannah, I hope she comes. She’s got me as her god mother, it’s impossible for her to grow up to be a brat. Neither did I, but this town get’s crazy sometimes. Everything you hoped it would be? Oh probably, are you going to continue to travel back and forth, or stay stationary in one? I was thinking of talking to Mase about a family trip to Milan, bring Gavin and he could sees Delilah.
I hate that word. I don’t like the whole “old” thing whatsoever. I’m glad that everyone could come together again, though I’m sure there are some people that’ll make it awkward. You didn’t have to do that, Kara. She’s spoiled enough as is. Really? How many detective cases can there be in a town this small?
You’re gonna have to get used to it, last time I checked someone’s thirtieth birthday is next year. Yeah, it’ll be nice. People like Nick. I know but I want to, I don’t have a girl to spoil so Delilah gets to be extra spoiled. A lot more than one would think, plus I do some travelling to other towns that need help sometimes. Hows Milan?
Don’t kid yourself, K. Literally nothing has changed. We are doing great, of course. And how have you and Mase been?
Sure sure, but we’re all older. It’s so weird seeing everyone here. That’s great! I have a bunch of outfits at the house for her. Really good, working a lot you know?
Why does it feel like Tree Hill has been perfectly preserved in a bubble? It’s like not one thing about this place has changed over the years.
Because it has been. Hey, that’s not true. Lots has changed. Sim, how are you and that gorgeous girl of yours doing?
Future Week || Kara McFadden
The last ten years of Kara Mcfadden’s life had been anything like she had expected. She found herself staying in Tree Hill with her friends and family while Mason did a year of touring. The couple had made the decision to stay together instead of splitting up, and they had managed to make it work between the two. Mason visited often, and Kara used this year and Mason’s touring as an excuse to travel, seeing the world. After a year of touring Mason returned to Tree Hill to stay for a while, and that’s when the couple learned that Kara was pregnant. Kara had been about to enroll in the police academy, and was ready to start taking law classes at the college in Tree Hill but that all had to be put on hold. The pregnancy shocked the couple, but they handled it with stride, and nine months later Gavin Anakin Kane was born.
Kara stayed home with Gavin for the first year, but after that it was decided that it was time she got started on her career. Excelling in the police academy along with her courses at school was not an issue, and it wasn’t long before Kara started serving on the force. After four years she moved on to be a detective, causing some strain on her engagement to Mason, and her family. Kara soon found out she was pregnant once more, and the couple felt it bring them close together once again. But a few months after Gavin’s fifth birthday tragedy struck as Kara and Mason drove home from a dinner date, they were arguing when a truck came out of nowhere, causing a terrible accident, and the loss of their unborn child.
Three years later, Kara and Mason are still engaged and currently expecting another child. They haven’t told anyone out of fear for their child. Kara manages her case load, and tries to be at home with her fiancée and eight year old son as much as she can.

Otherwise, it was…great. It’s where I’m going–I know it. I may not have cared for the students, but when we got to talking about journalism, they knew what they were talking about. Not to mention, when I toured it–God, I don’t even know. I just loved it. And you saw Sim? How is she, is she good? I did talk to B earlier. I’m not sure if it was for a fashion week thing or not, I just know that she won a competition and got to model and show her own clothing. Which is a pretty awesome experience in itself.
It is a little…scary, but think about it, Kara. Next year we’ll be working on the paths of the rest of our lives. We won’t have to worry about…things we don’t want to worry about anymore. It’s like a blank slate, in a way.
That’s awesome Savannah! I’m glad you had a blast, and you’re right. If you feel this way about it, you’ll love it there! That’s how I felt when I got back from my weekend in New Haven, for Yale. Yeah, I saw her shortly. Well.. she looks good considering her grandma last month... but I don’t know, she says shes good but I don’t think shes okay. Oh wow, that’s amazing! I didn’t even know she applied for a competition. That’s an amazing experience!
You make it all sound so easy and perfect. I wish I thought more like you!But you’re right, I mean it’s a blank slate, we may end up in places no one even knows who we are. We can be anyone.
“No worries sis. I’ll be out in the car waiting. Take your time though.”
Kara gave Rylan a smile before she disappeared into her bedroom, getting herself cleaned up from her day at the gym. She quickly changed into different clothes and soon after she headed down the stairs of her apartment to Rylan’s car. “Hey, thanks for this. I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever.”
