While I love the hc that both Azul and Riddle have diffrent courting tactics due to their respective homelands, I feel as if both of them are too smart and too committed to each other to not at least do enough research on eachothers traditions to form a better relationship with the person they want to be with. So I present the alternative.

Azul, wanting to court Riddle in traditional Queendom of Roses fashion, as he knows he loves the rules and it would be very romantic to do so, learns all of the nesscary rules and traditions, gifting roses, hand written letters or whatever is done in the Queendom.

Riddle does the same, thinking Azul as a merfolk on land would miss some of the culture of the sea, and what better way to give it back to him then by asking him out by doing so? He studies up on what is done in the coral sea such as gifting seashells and pearls.

This of course leads to another misunderstanding as each of them can’t see why the other is getting their hints considering they are doing the tradition of where the other is from. Meanwhile both of them aren’t seeing the others hint because they are looking for the others way of courting, thus both of them overlook what should be clear hints to eachother.

Eventually after a few weeks of the back and forth they both decide to give up, switching back to their traditional ways as if doing it the others way didn’t work maybe this would?

And only then are they able to see the clues they’d been dropping to eachother and finnaly start dating. Neither of them mention the failed attempt at courting until years down the line when they look back on when they first started dating, Azul confessing he gave him roses to show his love and Riddle saying the same with Seashells.

Azul had been getting Riddle seashells for years in coral sea tradition while Riddle had been getting him roses, but after that conversation they switch it up, making up for their mistakes.

Another Azurido card edit since I was feeling motivated by the last one, I don’t like this one as much as I feel like the fabric kinda combines together even though I tried to seperate them. And the fact that Riddle for lessened in quality cause I had to resize him… I didn’t want to reerase everything again though 💔
