8/30/22. Part of a large canvas painted with gauche and ink months ago with sewing pattern tissue added with Elmer’s glue today. I love the way I can use a foam brush to move the glue and pick up the paint and smear it across the sewing pattern. I think there is something to be said for getting messy in order to discover what can be done.

8/29/22. First time posting here for a long time, a year. Have been posting on instagram but I’d rather post more art with my own discussion here. Everyday? Maybe. Get messy and have more fun making art.

10/2/21 liked this collage I made today with old library book pockets, especially because of the juxtaposition of the words “discard” and “withdrawn.” Not tortured books, but a protest against how much libraries have gotten rid of books, how much they have not understood the need for book collections, how little they know about literature and great writers.

Today 9/8/21 is the beginning of taking over the art studio and really allowing myself to make all kinds of art from old books and watercolor and collage. I can’t believe how good it feels to have my paintings up on the wall.

7/24/21 Glued two library pockets on to old canvas and added more paint. I like how it came out but don’t feel like it’s a great combination of colors.

7//21/21. Large watercolor paper with markers, yellow ink and violet tube watercolor paint. I really like the placement of the yellow and the way the thin marker lines flair out when touched with water.

7/5/21 remnant of pink greeting card window adhered to 3 x 5 index card: lines added with marker, dots added with ink and paintbrush. Frida Kahlo painting from newspaper in the square. Spritzed with water. This was fun to make. I want to try a bunch more especially because greeting cards provide different surface to experiment with how the ink sinks in.

6/30/21 scraps of watercolor paintings glued to watercolor paper with ink on it and then more ink added to the whole piece after collage was glued into place. I like how scattered it is but would like more consistency with the color. Would like to experiment more with this idea. Did not mean to cover it with so much yellow and had to take some off with a paper towel. Would have liked more random spots of yellow instead of smearing it all in so much.

6/27/21 one-eighth of a painting done on water color paper with gouache and sections taped off, then after cutting the painting into 8 pieces about 8”x 8,” I filled in the white taped off spaces with markers and tiny markings. I like it surprisingly well.

6/23/21 Just posted this collage with water color paint and ink on watercolor paper and canvas on both facebook and instagram. I like it so much and could not help posting it. I think the detail and brightness on tumblr is better than the other social medias, and I want to keep up with making more comments about how I have felt about making this art. I had this idea and it didn’t come out anything like i imagined it would but then, when I looked at it a few hours after I made it, I liked it much better than I imagined that I could.

Tearing apart books, trying out black ink and random splotches. The purpose is to get that feeling of fun and experiment that makes it exciting. 6/23/21
