Some sketches with my SECOND evil and messed up TIODM oc (but this time she's actually messed up and evil)

Her name is Norma Baines, she's in her early 30s and she is some kind of surgeon (I haven't figured out what kind of surgeon yet, but I don't think it's really important to tge story anyway)

There's some briefly described icky stuff under the cut + slight body horror/blood tw

I don't think she agreed with the idea of bringing someone back from the dead, and she didn't think humanity progressed (yes, even on Greatmaw island) far enough to change the inevitability of death

But. She was convinced that a person could still overcome the limitations of mortality if they achieved something so great in life that they would be remembered for decades after their death (and she kinda strove for this).

After everything on the island started to go south, Norma was understandably scared and panicked out of her mind... But not for the right reason. She was more worried that her involvement in this would ruin her future than she was worried about the fact that they were, I don't know, vivisecting and torturing people???? Ah, her priorities....

But after some time she actually got really into this stuff, not only because of the prolonged influence of Godawful Evil Stone That Makes You Deranged™, but also because she personally decided that this situation provided a new and wide field for research. She justified herself by saying, "The best minds of medicine were terrible people who did terrible things, and yet their discoveries changed the world for the better." (yikes, girl, what the hell?) ((And besides, eating your research material wasn't necessary to make great discoveries, Norma. Just saying...))

Nobody knows what happened to her closer to the events of the game... Was she able to survive or did she suffer the same fate as many other researchers on the island........

His name is The Leech Man (nah, he actually has a normal human name but "The Leech Name" is how people call him and at this point he kinda accepted that because geniunely what else could he do in this situation if he IS literally the leech man now 😭)

He is absolutely pathetic

This guy used to be a journalist. The small independent publishing house he worked for was going through hard times and was almost on the verge of closure, and one day (about a month before the events of TIODM), he decided to secretly travel to the Greatmaw island to (hopefully) find something sensational....

....He never returned, as you might have guessed.

I imagine that if this poor thing was in the game, first time Howard would find him in a lucid (but quite unhinged) state of mind somewhere in the manor, and he would ask Howard for a completely normal and not at all deranged favor, that is, to share with him a small amount of blood (this bastard is starving 💔). Howard would absolutely sensibly refuse this, because it’s one thing to give your blood to flowers that can literally bring you back to life, and another thing to give it to some random creepy bum who asks for it simply because, and gives nothing in return. The Leech Man would be visibly upset, but he said that everything was fine and he understood.

Later in the game (somewhere in the garden, I guess) Howard would find him in a much worse shape than before... Mostly mentally. He'd look more like a wild, aggressive, and hungry animal than a human being, he'd start crawling instead of walking, he'd lose his pants somewhere and his shirt would be even more torn than before (damn he's such a disgrace). And this time, he wouldn't politely ask permission.......

Nahh, it's mostly the second one (for now. Maybe someday this will change, but I'm not sure)

The whole thing is that he's just Howard, but at some point during his time on the island he became a moth (I haven't figured out why or how yet, but I'll get to that, eventually). That's basically it

But even though he has no actual lore (yet-), I do have some little bits of silly info about him that I'll share.... probably soon

The third (and probably final) post about softlock situation

I should've posted it earlier, but uh. Sometimes I forgetting stuff

Anyway......

DEVELOPERS ANSWERED ME 🙏🙏🙏

And they gave me a good advice on how I can try to deal with this. I don't know if it will work in my case, tho, I haven't tried it yet, but at least I have some hope

+ Even if it won't work, they'll be looking further into it

So......

(also few words for people who might encounter the same problem that I did:

First of all, DO NOT touch square, "L", and triangle after successfuly solving the puzzle. I repeat, DO NOT. PLEASE. LEAVE THEM ALONE.

In case if you did touched them and if you got sofltocked the same way I did, and if reinstalling the game and starting it anew doesn't help, don't panic. Try to delete save data of the game, it's stored somewhere on your computer. (Again, as I said earlier, I'm not 100% sure if it'll help, since I haven't tried if yet, but I believe that it should. I'll try it today and after that I'll update this post and tell you how it went).

YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE ABSURDITY OF THE SITUATION.

THERE'S ACTUALLY A POSIBILITY THAT THERE WASN'T A SOFTLOCK AT ALL AND I'M JUST STUPID.

Or maybe my PC personaly just trolling me, because I refuse to believe that I'm the only person who tried to solve this the way I did

So, I've deleted save data and started re-playing the game. I've got to this spot that was giving me so much trouble. And I started to grab shapes BY ONE (this is important) and placing them in correct order

It didn't work.

At this point I've actually lost all hope in my life because WDYM DELETING SAVE DATA WASN'T HELPFUL!?? IS THIS ISSUE THAT DEEP??? 😭

But then I thought to myself "Wait, what if I'll take them out of the bag all at once, and only then start sorting them in the right order?......."

.....AND IT WORKED. I'M NOT KIDDING. IT SOMEHOW WORKED.

If you ever feel stupid, just remember this situation 😭

A few more words about the softlock situation

Okay, uhm. I'm kinda desperate and I have no idea what to do. So, since TIODM fandom on this site is quite active and lively, I came here again to clarify some things about wgat happened and ask for advice

As I said in the first part, me and my friend were in a discord call together and we were playing TIODM (which means, I was playing and streaming for her, and we were talking a lot). And I solved Mr Dile puzzle, got the key and opened the first door to the manor

And there it was. The first puzzle with shapes. I actually got no issues with it during my first try and solved it pretty easily, BUT. When we got to the next area (the one with that poor tortured creature with many limbs and pink hair), my stupid brain though "Hey, maybe we need to bring the shapes from the previous puzzle here so we can solve this one!"

.....And I did it. And as soon as I took them out, the path closed again. I thought "OH, SHIT, I WASN'T RIGHT ABOUT THIS- Well, okay, maybe if I'll put them back, it'll open again?"

..............Guess what didn't happen after I've put them back, huh.

Me and my friend panicked a little bit, but we decided that it's okay and we can probably try placing shapes back again. It didn't help at all.

Then we reloaded the safe and tried again. It didn't work. Then we closed the game and opened it and tried again. It didn't work. Then we started the new game. It didn't work. Then my friend and I said goodbye and ended the call. After this, I reinstalled the game, and I tried again.

And I've got the same outcome as before.

I thought "Well, okay, I'm probably just tired, I need to sleep. I'll go figure it out tomorrow"

In tge morning I saw that there was a patch to the game, and I was very happy about it. I naively thought that maybe my issue was somehow fixed alongside the stuff that was fixed in it

I reinstalled the game again.

And when I finally got time to play the game and started it anew.... I found out that reinstalling didn't work 😭

Welp, that's kinda all that I have to say....

Please, if any of you have ideas how to fix it, share them to me, tgat would mean a lot

P.S.: I tried to search if anyone had the same issue as me, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I may actually be the first to experience it

P.P.S.: My friend also sent an email to developers, explaining the problem. We're hoping that they'll notice it eventually, bbbut it didn't happen yet

This time it was actually not because of my stupidity, but because of the softlock that me and my friend were unable to fix

But the above mentioned softlock happened because of my stupidity, though........... 😅
