“Gotta love the gym I guess. Couldn’t be that nerdy little guy forever.” Xav replied with a chuckle. He couldn’t stop smiling as he looked at her, still not quite believing she was back in town. “I knew it! I have that affect on people.” The man pretended to be wounded as she hit him, eyes wide. “Ouch, Kar! Be careful, i’m delicate. Either way, i’m really glad you’re back. We have tons to catch up on to make up for lost time.” He grabbed them a table, holding out her chair for her before glancing at the menu. “Whatcha want? it’s on me”

Karley chuckled as they stepped into the small line of people waiting at the counter. “You? Delicate? Hardly.” Her smile resembled his as she thought about how comfortable it felt to be around his familiar presence again. “I know! I need to know all the details. Loves, heartaches, hook ups, everything. And you really don’t have to pay for my coffee.” Karley looked at the menu hanging on the wall and then down at the barista. “Hi, can I please have a tall iced vanilla latte?”

He grinned, wrapping an arm around her shoulder and leading her towards the shop down the road. “Sounds like the best way to spend my afternoon. So tell, what brings you back to Southport? Missed me that much?” Xav teased, holding open the door to the shop for her.

Karley looked up at the tall man and squinted her eyes. “Geez. You’re practically a giant now.” It was a gorgeous day out and Karley found his company comforting as they approached the coffee shop. “Oh shit. You caught me. I did indeed come back because I missed you more than anything in the world.” With a chuckle she playfully hit his bicep. “No, you goon. I just missed Southport in general.”
