I know your name as my child.

this is something i’ve wanted to draw since since season 1 ended! i really liked the idea of Din showing his face to the baby, reciting the gai bal manda (mandalorian adoption vow), and naming the baby all happening in tandem. the phrase “i know your name as my child” being spoken to a child who had, up until that point, been nameless.... the poetry of it all!!!

the baby has been revealed to already have a name now though lol. but Din reciting the gai bal manda is still a possibility! Favreau sir make it happen!!

i do feel really bad about it because i do think the andor show is like. Really really good i’m enjoying it. but also as someone whose favorite character is cassian andor… from when all we had was rogue one….. i find myself struggling to adjust to the fact that the cassian that existed in my brain for the past like 6 years doesn’t exactly match up with the one in this new show… and it’s so frustrating because ultimately thats just a ME problem, not a writing problem. like i just want to enjoy this show without having to be like hM HRM UH AAAAHHH HHHHMMMMMM 🤔🤨🧐🫣 at everything that doesnt match up with my headcanon . because really i dont think theres anything actually wrong with this show’s writing so far

ya know what…i’ve decided i’m not the bigger person and i’m not in the business of protecting racists. so, especially BIPOC, i recommend unfollowing and blocking @dibos for being racist and harassing BIPOC (previously known as @/porgnugget).

over a two-day period, she has been sending me anons calling me anti-white and racist for making a post that shared tweets from Black Dominicans, critiquing the anti-Blackness and Afrolatine-erasure in the new In The Heights movie (x).

when one of my replies to her anon messages started getting a lot of reblogs, she began sending me more (example) and also sending anons to folks who reblogged the reply, saying that we were being anti-white and racist as well. 

it really wasn’t hard to figure out who was doing this after taking notes of which ppl were getting the messages (all were mutuals of hers), some ppl gave me a heads up she was talking about it in a discord server, and then the grande finale - i blocked one of the anon messages i hadn’t replied to so at the very least, i wouldn’t get more messages like that from the same anon, and…ta-da, my DMs with ash (from april when we were mutuals) instantly vanished, confirming that ash was indeed the racist anon :) - if you’re not familiar, when you block an anon, it blocks their IP address from being able to message you, therefore things like old DMs get deleted from your chat inbox.

i wanted to let it go and move along, but i honestly can’t just ignore that a relatively popular star wars/marvel art blog is going around and harassing BIPOC for trying to discuss a very prevalent issue in our latine community, especially considering ash is not even latine herself. it’s also worth mentioning ash has had me blocked, so she literally went out of her way to come harass me for two days because of my ITH post.

frankly, i don’t give a damn whether or not she’s a POC - to take a conversation focused on anti-Blackness, and use that to try to victimize white ppl and dismiss the very-real issues at hand is disgusting and racist.
