Electrope is what powers Ultimate and the robots (as well as the Elevator)
Calyx is one of the personas of Ultimate that took on a life of its own
Like Glitchy, he possesses a strangely human sense of empathy
When Vera steps out of the elevator, she finds a weird-looking squirrel plush lying on the ground. That can talk. Calyx!!
She immediately tries to dissect him to see how he works (he's not too pleased about this). He becomes her best friend until they can retrieve a back up of Glitchy's old data. Yes, Glitchy is ok post-drama because I say so.
Calyx makes it so Glitchy can inhabit a sentry bot (and immediately regrets it because he is a menace and a glomper). He himself remains as squirrel plush in this AU.
Living Memory = Future "Eutopia" designed for Vera by Calyx (but with lots more animals)
Calyx relaxes in the treetops with all the squirrels. He likes to be up high.
When Vera is busy, Glitchy is always bothering Calyx.
Glitchy is only back under the pretense he is "fixed" now so he has to hide his high humanity from Ultimate whenever they're around. Kind of like Endless Sphene with the Sentrybots hiding from ZJ/Calyx!!!

Vera sees Calyx and Glitchy as her older brothers (and she misses her older brother very much)......
Glitchy is very protective over Vera. Calyx is too but he tries to be way less obvious about it!!!
This is the world they have now, and it's up to them to make it better...
...can they find other survivors??? I feel like this could be a whole exciting adventure on its own. Sabotaging the robot factory and finding a way to deal with Ultimate...! Though I'm out of ideas for now.
