I work at a startup and part of the onboarding package you get when you first start working here now includes a rubber duck. We also have a bigger version of the duck for the extra hard problems. Sometimes one duck doesn’t cut it and you need to borrow your neighbors to get more ducks on the problem. One time we couldn’t figure out why something wasn’t working right so we assembled the counsel of ducks and by the grace of the Duck Gods were we able to finally come to a solution. These ducks have saved many lives and should be respected for the heroes they are.

Wanna know how super conservative my boyfriend’s family is?

A few years ago my bf brought home a picture of his cousin’s girlfriend (already framed) and gave it to his grandmother. He told his grandmother that the picture was a gift from the girl’s mother. Well being a sweet lady she hung the picture up, not wanting to offend anyone. Years pass and every so often she would ask my boyfriend “can I take that picture down?” And he would respond “if you do that, you’ll upset her mother when she comes over!” (Note, she almost never came over). Everyone that came to the house never questioned the picture, just regarded it as the cousins ex girlfriend.

He brought that picture to our house today, and showed it to me. I immediately looked at him crossed eyed, for I couldn’t figure out just how his cousin could possibly be dating Chelsea Clinton, considering she is about 15 years older than him. It was then he told me that he took a clipping from a newspaper of Chelsea Clinton and framed it, convincing his entire family she was his cousin’s girlfriend (they did look similar).

I just, just can’t.

Reblogging for later reference after I tried it earlier today to try to calm down. It actually does help a lot, not just for sleep but if you have problems with anxiety.

My default mental setting is “vibrating intensely in the background.” After doing this, I felt noticeably calm and relaxed - I wasn’t as fixated on my breathing, I wasn’t tense, my movements weren’t jerky and I didn’t feel like I had to be as tense as possible to be under control. 10/10 would recommend.

I have to say, listening to my friends talk about Final Fantasy XV is pretty wild when you know Latin but absolutely nothing about the game. Everyone’s name is literally a Latin word, and it’s beautiful.
