Love when I’m fucking gone for the weekend and come back to my room being hot as shit as someone who thinks he’s all entitled shut my fan off… I HAVE IT ON FOR A REASON!!!!! Depression is like this (at least the way I experience mine).
You are in a cold dark dungeon or maze. You have but one torch with a fire lighting it and everything else is pitch black, cold, and impossible to navigate. You have to keep the torch lit all on your own and find something. You don't know what that something is, a light at the end of a long tunnel, a hatch out, a staircase up...you just dont know. You only have your torch and the ability to keep moving, and its hard just having that. And the darkness....God the darkness... how it taunts you. How it makes oh so aware that you navigate alone how it makes you anxious about your fire you try so desperately to keep lit, how if you don't then it will go out and then what will you have? How it trips you, makes you stumble at every twist and turn. And how it endlessly goes on with no idea about an end.
Sure, there are moments, hell maybe even prolonged times where your fire seems it may never run out...moments where you know that there are other fires out there and together you might shine brighter and fine that end....but you have yet to meet a beginning without experiencing its end and find yourself traversing that darkness alone...fire lit. And how much more that darkness sounds after those moments...how much more aggressive and deep it calls.
That is Depression.
