haii! Could you please do Neville x Ravenclaw reader, where at first she can come off as cold/mean but in reality she's very nice?(with people that deserve it ofc) and like she's definitely more softer with Neville,I mean who wouldn't love that cutie patootie💕 and they share their interests, reader always listens to him talking about his plants, and she shares her love for books/astrology with him. Two nerds falling in love🤭 And she protects him from Draco and his minions! Something like:"Yeah make fun of me,I don't care, but don't even DARE talk about my lover that way". That's it thank you!
sorry it took so long to respond it’s been a hectic month I’ll start on that as soon as my schedule slows down ♥️
update: I’ve finally been able to sit down and start working on this!
summary: you find yourself falling for your best friend…
warnings: none just fluff
word count: roughly 3k (my longest fic yet!)
guess I’m writing for Harry Potter now 😅
You and Neville had been friends since your first year at hogwarts. You had defended him from some third year that was bullying him and after that the two of you had just clicked.
That was six years ago, now you found yourself developing a new kind of fondness towards him, the kind of fondness you thought only existed in books and in the hearts of fools, but now you were feeling it and it worried you, this was not what you had expected. You found yourself spending more and more time with Neville, coming up with excuses to see him.
That's what you were doing right now, searching for Neville. You decided to try the greenhouse, knowing that he loved to spend his free time with the plants. In fact, it wouldn't surprise you if he became a herbologist after he finished school.
You entered the greenhouse and immediately found Neville leaning over a table full of plants, a watering can in his hand. A smile spread across your face, you couldn't help but adore him when he was in his element.
“Oh hey, when did you get here?” Neville asked, not even looking up from what he was doing.
You were about to answer when someone else spoke. “Just arrived a minute ago.” it was Luna’s voice. “Harry said the next d.a. meeting is tonight, just thought you should know.”
“Thanks, Luna,” Neville said, putting down the watering can and walking towards her. You crept forward to try and see him since he had disappeared from view. “I'll see you tonight then,” he said in a softer tone. “I'll be heading back to the castle soon anyways, as soon as i'm done with the plants, i'm trying to grow some mistletoe for christmas, i think it's turning out alright.”
“Oh that reminds me…” Luna said, rummaging through her bag. “I made you something…” she pulled out a strange necklace and slipped it over his head. “That should ward off the nargles,” she said, adjusting the charm so it lay nicely.
“Thanks, Luna,” Neville said, admiring the charm.
“Well I have to be going, don't forget about the meeting.”
“I won't,” Neville said, pulling his remembrall out of his pocket and holding it up for Luna to see. Suddenly it turned red. “What have I forgotten this time?!”
“Who's that?” Luna asked, gesturing to you. “She's not part of the d.a.”
Neville turned and saw you. “I- y/n, what are you doing here?” he asked, putting the remembrall away.
You swallowed before going to answer.
“I'll go find Hermione, she's good with memory charms…” Luna said, turning to walk off.
“You don't have to do that, Luna, that's y/n, she won't tell anyone.”
“Tell anyone about what?” You asked, walking closer.
“Nothing,” Luna and Neville said in unison.
“But i-”
“Bye, Neville, by, y/n,” Luna said, skipping off and humming a tune.
“Neville, what is the D.A.? What were you and Luna talking about? And what in the world are nargles?”
Neville sighed. “I have no idea what nargles are, but Luna says they cause trouble, and I get into enough trouble as it is,” Neville said, fiddling with the charm again. “So what brings you here?”
You crossed your arms. “The D.A. Neville, what is it?”
Neville picked up a set of clippers and began pruning a small plant. “Can't tell you,” he said.
“Oh, but you can tell Luna? I thought I was your best friend, you said you could tell me anything, was that a lie?” you asked, hurt sinking in as your mind began to run. Were Neville and Luna a thing?
Neville put down the clippers. “You are my best friend, y/n, and i do tell you everything, but i'm sworn to secrecy, if i tell you, i'll be hexed, magical binding and all that,” he said.
You frowned and looked away.
“I'm sorry, y/n, i can't tell you.”
“I-i should probably g-”
“But I can show you…” He said, looking up at you and smiling. “We need more members anyways.”
“Members? So it's like a club?”
“Kind of, you'll see tonight.”
.-.-.
You followed Neville though the castle, curiosity evident on your face. “Where are we going?” you asked as neville walked down a random hall and stopped, looking at the wall as a door magically grew in front of the two of you.
“What the-” you whispered as Neville grabbed your hand and pulled you into the room.
“Neville, there you are, I was beginning to think you weren't coming and-” Harry paused when he saw you. “Neville?”
You went to pull your hand away but Neville tightened his grip. “You said you wished we had more members… and y/n is a fast learner so i thought it would be ok for her to join…”
“Well i- yeah shure,” Harry said, pointing to a mirror.
Hermione nodded and grabbed a paper that was stuck to the mirror and handed it to you. “Sign this before we get started.”
Neville held out a quill and you quickly signed your name. “Now what?” you asked, handing it back to Hermione.
“Let's get started, everyone find a partner!” Harry shouted. In less than five seconds everyone had gotten themselves a partner. “Hey, we finally have an even number!” Harry said excitedly.
You looked at Neville and smiled. “Looks like we're partners, you said.”
Neville nodded and pulled out his wand. You did the same.
“Neville, do you mind showing y/n the stunning spells we've been working on?”
“Alright,” he said, walking closer to you and teaching you how to do a spell.
Once the meeting was over you couldn't help but be happy. “That was fun, thanks for bringing me along, Neville,” you said, placing a kiss on his cheek without thinking before running off.
Neville placed his hand on his cheek. “Harry, I think I've run into a bit of a problem…”
“You like her don't you?” Harry asked.
Neville nodded. “I'm in trouble…”
Harry chuckled, “you'll be ok, Neville…” Harry said as they walked back to the common room. “Maybe we'll have another meeting tomorrow, considering that it's the weekend.”
Neville nodded and sat on his bed, a soft smile still on his face.
In the morning, Neville ran up to you. “Tonight. Ten o’clock,” he said before you entered the great hall for breakfast.
“I'll be there.”
You loved Saturdays, no work, just freedom. Around two, you headed to the greenhouse, hoping Neville would be there. You walked in and smiled when you saw Neville standing next to professor Sprout, talking about plants, a grin on his face. “Luna believes that Nargles live in mistletoe, whatever those are, have you ever heard of Nargles?”
“Only from Luna, she has a big imagination.”
“Well anyways, I've been growing some and I think it's coming along nicely.”
Professor Sprout nodded. “Well will you look at that, well done, Neville,” she said. “I have to take these to madam Pomfrey, i’ll be back soon.”
“Alright,” Neville said, leaning over a plant and plucking off the dead leaves.
You cleared your throat and Neville looked up. “Hey,” you said.
“H-hi…” Neville said, quickly glancing away.
You walked over to him. “Belladonna,” you said, looking at the plant Neville was currently taking care of.
He nodded. “The only plant I don't like taking care of is the Mandrakes, they freak me out, but they need to be repotted…”
“I can do it,” you said, thinking back to your second year when Neville had fainted after seeing the mandrake. “We don't want you passing out again,” you teased, walking over to grab some earmuffs. You put on a pair then walked over to Neville and slipped them over his ears, making sure they were secure.
Neville gave you a thumbs up and you smiled before going over to the door and putting up the warning sign, letting people know the repotting of Mandrakes was in motion. You also hung another set of earmuffs on the door handle for professor Sprout, knowing she would be returning soon.
You made quick work of the repotting process, putting the last one in a pot just as professor Sprout returned. You waved and took off your earmuffs before letting Neville know you were done. “Hey, you didn't faint this time,” you said as soon as he took the earmuffs off.
“Ha ha, very funny,” Neville said, elbowing you playfully.
“I'm only teasing you,” you said, chuckling as you put the earmuffs away.
“Yeah I know…” Neville said, taking off his gloves. “I think that's everything,” Neville said, putting everything away. “Is there anything else you need help with?” Neville asked.
“No that's everything, thank you deeries,” Professor Sprout said as Neville grabbed his bag.
You and Neville headed back to the castle. “What brought you down to the greenhouse anyways?” Neville asked.
“I was looking for you.”
“Me? What for?”
“No reason in particular, I just like your company,” you said, suddenly stopping in your tracks. “Actually you're the only person who I feel I can go to just because I don't want to be alone… it's almost like you know what I need without me having to say anything, you're pretty incredible that way.”
Neville smiled. “Really?”
You nodded, starting to walk again. “I've got a question, you don't have to answer, but if you don't answer then you're kind of answering it, ya know?”
“What is it?”
“You and Luna seem pretty close, are you two official?”
“What?”
“Are you dating Luna?”
“No, she's kind of like a little sister,” Neville said.
You let out a sigh of relief.
“Hermione says we’d make a cute couple but I don't know…”
“No i get it, she's sweet but-”
“Just not quite my type, she makes a great friend but…”
“I get what you're saying.”
.-.-.
You snuck to the room of requirement with Neville, practically jumping with excitement.
“We're just waiting on a few more people,” Harry said. “y/n, do you mind partnering with neville again?”
“Shure,” you said. “I'm good with that.”
“We're going to continue working on our patronus charms today,” Harry said once everyone was there. “Remember, a full patronus is hard to form but can be used to ward off a number of things, including dementors.”
“What do i-” you gasped softly as Neville stood behind you and took your hand, showing you the wand movement. “Expecto Patronum,” he whispered.
You whispered it back, following the wand movement Neville had shown you.
“Good,” Neville said. “Now think of a memory, the happiest one you can recall.”
You thought for a moment, picturing the first time you had heard Neville laugh, a smile spreading across your face. “I've got one…”
“Well then, go on try it,” he said, encouraging you.
“Expecto Patronum,” you said, waving your wand.
A bright silver light shot out of your wand before flickering off and dying.
Neville chuckled. “You got it…” he whispered, releasing your hand.
“Not bad, y/n,” Harry said, giving you a thumbs up.
“Thanks, Harry. Well your turn Neville, give it a go…”
Neville hesitated.
“What's wrong?” you asked, tilting your head in concern.
Neville sighed. “I've been trying for weeks and all I can do is produce a few sparks…” he said sadly, looking down at his feet.
You gently tilted his chin up. “You can do it, Neville, you just have to believe in yourself.”
“That's the problem,” he whispered, “I… don't believe…”
You frowned “well i do, and i will continue to believe in you until you can believe in yourself… I know you can do this…”
Neville gave it a try, waving his wand and saying the words. A light flickered at the tip of his wand and then went out. “See?” he said.
“I see progress,” you said, giving him a soft smile. “These kinds of things take time.”
Neville sighed. “No, you don't understand, I've been working on this for weeks and nothing has changed…”
You frowned. “Well what memory are you thinking of?”
Neville frowned. “That's the problem I can't think of-” he paused, remembering the kiss you had left on his cheek last night. “Well I've got one…”
“Give it a go…”
“Expecto Patronum!” he said loudly, a bright light shooting out of his wand.
“Progress,” you said, nudging him.
“Yeah, but I'd really like to get a memory strong enough to produce a full patronus, you know?”
You nodded.
“That's all for today!” Harry called about an hour later. “Well pick this back up on tuesday!”
You put away your wand and watched everyone pack up. You then turned your attention to everything that was taped to the mirror. “Neville, who are these people?” you asked, pointing to a photo.
“They are the original order of the Phoenix, a group of people who fought against… you-know-who in the war.” Neville pointed to a couple in the picture. “Those are my parents…” Neville whispered, his eyes becoming glassy.
You put an arm around him. “They’d be proud of you…”
Neville nodded. “I'm proud to be their son. I just… i don't want everyone to know just yet…” he said softly, leaning into you a bit more.
“I understand,” you said, leaning against him as well.
“Neville?” you whispered after a moment of silence.
“Yeah?”
“What memory did you use when you tried to conjure your patronus?”
Neville was silent for a moment then he let out a sigh. “I thought of you…” he said, looking away. “Last night after the meeting to be exact, right before you headed back to your common room.”
“Oh…yeah?’’
Neville nodded. “Yeah… what did you think of?”
“I thought about that time Malfoy got turned into a ferret.”
“Oh…” Neville's face fell.
“Well to be more exact, I thought about you laughing during that moment… I hadn't heard such a wonderful sound in so long… i-” you paused when Neville grabbed your hands. “Neville?”
“There's something that I've been wondering about for a while now… if I'm wrong we never have to speak of it again but… I just…I have to know.”
“Know what?” you asked, looking at him with a soft smile.
Neville pulled you behind the mirror, out of everyone's sight then he slowly slipped an arm around your middle, pulling you to his chest before leaning down and letting his lips meet your cheek, leaving a number of soft kisses there.
You stood there as his lips pressed on your cheek over and over, shock in your eyes.
Neville pulled away and frowned. “I'm sorry…” he whispered, turning to walk off.
“Neville, stop.”
He stopped and you turned him around. “Look at me…”
He slowly met your eyes. “That was far from proper,” you said, grabbing his tie and pulling it towards you so that you could put your lips on his.
He immediately grabbed your waist, pulling you closer and kissing you like the world was about to end.
You pulled away and let your forehead meet his, your breath coming in little gasps. “Was that your first kiss?” you asked after a moment.
“Was it that obvious?”
“No, but I was hoping it was, they say that there is something truly magical about a first kiss.”
“Really?”
You nodded. “That was my first… I was… saving it for the right person…” you whispered.
Neville smiled and placed another kiss on your lips before pulling you out from behind the mirror.
“Bet you can conjure a full patronus now…” you whispered, nudging him.
Neville smiled. “We’ll find out soon enough…” he said, gently grabbing your hand.
You looked up at him with a big smile on your face and gently squeezed his hand. “Don’t ever let the world change you, you're perfect the way you are…”
“Really?” Neville asked, skepticism in his voice.
You nodded. “Really. I wouldn't change a thing about you… well actually…”
“What?” he asked, a frown forming on his lips.
“I would have you be my boyfriend,” you whispered, moving closer to him. “If you're ok with that…”
Neville let out a soft laugh. “I'd like that very much…”
“Neville, y/n, come on, time to go!” Harry called from the door, “Filch will be here soon!”
You and Neville ran to the door.
“Come on Neville, let's get back to the common room. Goodnight, y/n,” Harry said as Ron began to pull on his arm.
“Goodnight Harry,” you said before placing a kiss on Neville’s cheek. “I'll see you tomorrow.”
“Don't let Filch see you,” Neville whispered.
“I won't.”
.-.-.
A month later, you were making your way to the great hall when someone grabbed your hand. You looked over to see Neville. “Hey,” you said, intertwining your fingers with his.
“Harry won't give me a break…” Neville whispered.
“What do you mean?”
“Well uh… he knows I like you but he doesn't know we're together so he keeps coming up with… ideas and Ron isn't much better…”
“I'm sorry…”
“I'm tired of keeping us a secret…”
“Well we can't have that can we?” you asked as you entered the great hall. You spotted Harry and Ron sitting at the Gryffindor table, quietly chatting with Hermione. “Come on, let's go join them,” you said, pulling him along. “Hey guys, mind if we join you?”
“Not at all,” Hermione said, motioning for the two of you to sit.
You and Neville sat and you immediately poured yourself some coffee.
“Neville, now would be a good time to-”
“Not now,” Neville said, cutting Ron off.
You yawned and leaned against Neville, letting your eyes slip closed. “Why didn't I just stay in bed?” you asked yourself.
“Let me guess you were up reading until three in the morning?” Neville asked, sliping an arm around you.
You nodded, lazily popping a dry piece of cereal in your mouth. “Speaking of which, I still have your herbology book in my dorm. I finished it yesterday then thought it would be a good idea to start a new book at ten o’clock… I ended up finishing that one too…”
Neville chuckled. “Just like Hermione.”
You nodded and grabbed the cup of coffee. “I need to go to the library, I told madam Pince I'd help her with the new order of books that came in.”
“I'll go with you,” Neville said, gently pushing your hair behind your ear. “Then i can show you the new plants that professor Sprout has, she's even growing a baby whomping willow, it keeps attacking me every time i try to water it, but its not big enough to do any damage so it's just kind of funny, and then we have a-”
“Trying to get yourself a girlfriend, Longbottom?” Malfoy asked as he walked up to you.
“Get lost, Malfoy,” Ron said.
“Isn't she a bit out of your league?” Malfoy asked, ignoring Ron. “I mean really? The plant boy trying to get the popular girl? i mean how pathetic-”
“Draco, just because you're insecure doesn't mean you need to take it out on people waaaaaay more attractive than you,” you said.
Neville laughed. “Thanks blossom,” he said, using the little nickname he had for you while placing a kiss on your forehead and wrapping his arms around your middle.
“Anytime,” you said, kissing him back, letting your lips linger for a moment.
Malfoy stormed off.
“Waitaminute,” Harry said as Ron staired, slack-jawed. “What just happened?”
“I was complimenting my incredibly adorable boyfriend, what does it look like?” you asked, enjoying the look of shock on their faces.
Neville blushed like he always did when you called him cute.
“I mean just look at that smile, it’s so cute,” you said, placing your hands on his cheeks and placing a kiss on his nose. “You're adorable, you know that, right?”
Neville melted and hid his face in your neck, mumbling something inaudible.
“How long has this been going on for?” Harry asked as Neville pulled you closer to him.
“About a month,” you said, playing with Neville’s hair as you spoke. “Pretty much since he was able to produce a perfect patronus.”
“Only because you make me happy,” Neville mumbled, slowly moving his head so he could join in on the conversation.
You smiled. “You make me happy too, Neville…” you whispered, the trio elbowing each other excitedly. Loving Neville longbottom was definitely a good thing.
*Y/n is sat with Thorin's company as they feast in Rivendell, having stopped there on their way to the lonely mountain. Gandalf and Throin are sat with Lord Elrond at a separate table chatting about the swords they had found in the troll's hoard on the Great East road. Y/n sipping on some water as their eyes are focused on Lord Elrond, sat beside Y/n is their best friend Bofur, who is currently having a laugh about Kili mistaking one of the Ellon musicians for an Elleth. Once his laughing had settled he turns his attention to Y/n and sees their dreamy and borderline lovesick expression, he follows their line of sight and realizes that their gaze is set on the Lord of Rivendell.*
Bofur: "Fancy the Elven Lord, do you laddie/lass?" He teases, elbowing their side.
Y/n: They scoff lightly, giving him a light elbow back, their voice falling to a hushed tone, shifting their gaze to Bofur, a faint look of annoyance on their face "Sssh! The Lord will hear you" They turn their sights back to Elrond "I'll have you know that elves have impeccable hearing."
Bofur: His voice falls to a whisper as he leans in to speak into their ear. "I don't doubt that, laddie/lass. However the Lord is bound to catch you eyeing him sooner or later, best you save yourself the humiliation-"
Y/n: "Oh hush!" Y/n says in a whisper yell "He won't catch me, I've made sure of that. You see the trick is, is to divert my eyes just as he's about to look over and I haven't had to do that yet, see, he's still talking to Gandalf." Y/n notices Thorin stand up and walk away, their gaze following Thorin for a brief moment before returning it to the Lord of Rivendell and their gaze accidently meets with Lord Elrond's, the eye contact causing their heart to skip several beats "Oh Valar" They whisper as they quickly bring their gaze down to the table below, their cheeks flushing at the sudden eye contact with the handsome Lord of Rivendell.
*Bofur laughs at Y/n's flustered state, elbowing their side once again*
You glared at Bofur. “Its not funny…” you growled before excusing yourself from the table. You needed to find a place to calm your pounding heart.
You found a quiet spot and sat down before you began to count the scars on your arms from the battles you had been through.
You paused when you came to the large scar on your bicep and a smile spread across your face. This scar wasnt from a battle, this was from when Fili and Kili were much younger. The three of you had been fooling around in the forest, doing things you knew you shouldn't do, things that would get you into deep trouble.
Someone cleared their throat and you looked up to see the lord of rivendell looking at you with a soft smile on his face.
You quickly rose to your feet and boiled. “My lord, i-”
He gently cut you off. “Why don't you join me for a walk in the garden?” he asked, holding out his hand to you.
Blushing, you took it, unable to speak or meet his gaze for fear that you would embarrass yourself.
After a few moments of silence, Elrond spoke. “Tell me, how are you enjoying your stay in Rivendell?”
You blushed before speaking. “I've found it quite calm here, which is far from what i am used to, as you know dwarves are seldom quiet.”
Elrond nodded and you noticed he was watching you with mild interest, a soft smile on his face. “And why is it that a young maiden such as yourself is traveling with a rowdy group of dwarves?”
You smiled. “Well, Gandlf asked me to accompany him and i can never turn down an opportunity for an adventure, especially one that includes parels and danger.”
“I see…” he said, “it appears your group is preparing to leave.” he nodded in the direction of the dwarves as they snuck out of the valley.
“I should be going then, I don't wish to be left behind.”
“Well then, this is where I leave you, burn if you are always welcome in the valley, please stop by of you are passing through.”
“I will keep that in mind, i would love to return if i get a chance.”
Elrond took your hand in his and placed a soft liss on your knuckles. “I will be waiting for your return,” he said softly.
Pink covered your face and you backed away before running to catch up with the others. “What just happened?” you asked yourself as you fell in with the rest of the group.
You had been in lorien for a little over a year when you found yourself falling hard for the marchwarden. You tried your best to hide your feelings, not wanting him or anyone else to know. It seemed to work quite well until one day…
You heard a horn and looked up to see the elves returning from patrol, Haldir in the lead as usual. He looked exhausted and grumpy. Well, more grumpy than usual after a day of work. You frowned and went over to greet them as they came closer.
As you neared, Halidir didn't exactly smile, but his face did lift a bit when he saw you. You greeted him by bowing your head and extending your hand from your heart. A common elven greeting. He nodded, acknowledging your greeting.
After a moment of hesitation you joined him as he made his way back to his chambers. “Long day,” you asked softly as the two of you walked.
Haldir nodded. “The goblins are getting bolder. They attack more often and in larger numbers. They have drawn too close to our borders… im afraid we will have to double our efforts, get more of us out there to fight them back into the mountain where they came from.”
You frowned. “It must be tiring, fighting to keep all of lorien safe.”
Haldir nodded, agreeing with you.
“What if you found a way to seal off the exit? Trap the goblins inside?” you asked.
“We tried, they have more than one way out of that mountain… i fear they may end up hurting someone before we have a way to remove them.”
“Have you brought this to the council?”
He nodded. “They are working on a solution.”
You frowned and walked in silence for a moment.
“Haldir?” you asked, unable to bear not knowing any longer.
“Yes?”
You let out a breath. “Does it bother you that I walk with you every day? If you would prefer to be left alone with your thoughts i-”
Haldir gently cut you off. “No, mellon, it doesn't bother me at all. In fact I look forward to your happy greeting after a tiring day.”
You smiled. “Oh, i'm glad, i was worried i was bothering you.”
“And where would you get an idea like that?” haldir asked.
You shrugged. “People talk…”
“Well, don't pay them any attention, they are wrong.”
You smiled and stoped outside his door. “Well, i guess i come to bother you tomorrow,” you said in a joking manner.
Haldir did not laugh.
You turned to leave when he grabbed your hand, causing you to pause and turn, looking at his hand and he let go of yours. You immediately took notice that his gloves were completely worn through, causing small blisters to begin forming from the use of his bow. “What is it?” you asked, looking up and making a mental note that you should make him a new pair of gloves before his hands got any worse.
He shook his head. “Oh, nevermind…”
“I- ok…” you said, turning to leave. “You know where to find me if you need anything,” you said as you went back to your workbench to start on those gloves.
.-.-.
You rose earlier than normal and put on a cloak to shield you from the morning cold. You then snatched the gloves you’d spent all of last night making before running out the door, hoping you had gotten up early enough.
You ran quickly through lorien, determined to stop Haldir before he left for patrol. You saw the group leaving and ran faster. “Haldir!” you called as you ran.
Hearing his name, Haldir paused and turned to see who was calling him. When he saw you his confusion escalated. You were a night owl, not an early bird. He feared something was terribly wrong. “y/n is everything alright?” he asked, walking over to you as you paused to catch your breath.
You nodded and smiled shily, holding out the gloves to him. “I uh…” you took another breath, trying to ignore the group of elves watching you. “Yesterday i noticed your gloves were worn so i-i made you a new pair,” you said, trying hard not to blush.
Haldir smiled and gingerly took the gloves. “Thank you, y/n…” he said.
You smiled up at him. “I hope they fit…” you said softly.
Haldir slipped them on and nodded. “They do…”
You tried to stifle a yawn but failed.
Haldir chuckled. “Go back to bed, y/n,” he said softly.
You nodded and waved as you went back the way you had come.
Once you were out of earshot, Remli spoke up. “She likes you,” he said as the group began walking again.
Haldir stopped admiring the gloves and looked up. “You think?”
“And by the looks of it you feel the same,” Ferin said, joining the conversation.
Haldir colored and cleared his throat. “I do not,” he said. “What would give you that notion?”
“Haldir the two of you see each other every day, she goes out of her way to greet you when you get back from patrol, and just a moment ago you were looking at her as if she was the only thing that mattered in the world,” Remli said with enthusiasm.
“And can we acknowledge the fact that she blushes every time she sees you?” Ferin added.
“You should ask her out.”
“Yeah, just imagine it.”
“No, I will do no such thing.”
“Why not?” they asked in unison.
“My duties lie here, not wondering whether y/n may feel the same or not.”
“Oh so you do like her?”
“I didn't say that.”
“You just said you couldn't worry about whether she felt the same or not…” Ferin said.
“I did?”
“Yes!”
Haldir was silent.
“Just pay attention to the way she acts next time you see her.” Remli said. “Maybe invite her inside for once.”
The day seemed to pass in slow motion for Haldir. Every minute felt like an hour.
When the patrol did finally come to an end, Haldir sighed with relief and walked a little faster than normal. At this point he was desperate to see you.
You sat at your workbench, carefully working on a saddle when you heard a horn blast. You jumped to your feet and ran out the door you didn't want to be late.
When you arrived, everyone was making their way home. Except for Haldir, he stood, clearly searching for someone. You realized with a flutter of your heart that he was looking for you.
You gently tapped his shoulder and he turned around. “I know I'm late, I'm sorry…”
Haldir smiled softly. “It's alright y/n…”
You tried to fight the blush growing on your cheeks.
This time Haldir did notice it and his smile widened. He offered you his arm, something he seldom did which caused the blush on your face to grow. You shyly linked your arm with his.
“Thank you again for the gloves, they did wonders.”
You smiled. “Well i- i couldn't just leave you to get blisters all over your hands now could i?”
Haldir smiled, Feren and Remli were right, he did love you and it was quite evident you felt the same.
Once the two of you arrived at haldir’s chambers, you stopped outside his door as usual.
Haldir opened the door and asked you inside, you blushed and accepted his invitation.
“Just give me a moment to change out of this and ill be right back,” he said, disappearing around the corner.
You stood, surprised by how welcoming the room was. You smiled and looked around there were a few random items scattered among the books he had on a shelf. You walked closer studying the items with curiosity.
Suddenly, there was an arm around your middle which caused you to gasp. “You startled me,” you said softly.
There was no answer.
“Haldir?” you whispered softly, curiosity in your voice.
He gently turned you to face him before he pulled you to his chest, wrapping both arms around you. You stood stiff for a moment before letting yourself relax into his embrace. You tried to remember ever seeing Haldir show anyone affection. You failed.
“y/n,” he whispered.
“Yes?”
He released you from the hug but let his hands rest on your hips. He then leaned forward, placing his head between your collar and jaw. “I love you,” he mumbled.
You blushed madly and put your arms around him. “I love you too,” you whispered, placing a kiss on his head. “I have for quite some time…”
He lifted his head and gently placed a kiss on your cheek. “May I court you?” he asked softly.
You nodded, tears filling your eyes. “Yes…”
Haldir tilted your chin up and slowly leaned down, pressing his lips gently on yours.
You melted into the kiss and lifted your hands to his hair before pulling him a little closer.
Haldir pulled away but allowed his forehead to rest against yours. “It took Remli and Ferin’s teasing for me to realize just how much i love you.”
You smiled. “Mmm, you must remind me to thank them for that…” you whispered.
Haldir chuckled. “Your just as bad as they are,” he teased, kissing you again. “Goodness, your more addicting than wine from mirkwood…” he whispered in your ear.
You were now a very deep shade of red and you knew it.
Haldir kissed your nose. “ I love you… don't ever forget it…”
(Don’t know if I’m going to actually start writing for the Merlin series, it’s been nearly two years since I’ve seen any of it and I only saw the first season)
Word count: 1433
(Reader has magic and merlin finds out)
Falling in love with you was by far the best ‘mistake’ Merlin had ever made. You were amazing in so many ways, but he had no idea how to tell you how he felt. Every time he tried, he made a fool of himself. Eventually, he thought it would be best to give up. Besides, how could someone as incredible as you love someone as plain as him?
Merlin sat at the table, still half asleep. He decided he either needed to give up or get advice. He decided he would try the latter. “Gaius?”
The old man looked up from his book. “What is it Merlin?”
Merlin took a breath and let it out slowly. “I uh…i think i like y/n…” Merlin said, turning red.
“Took you long enough to come to that conclusion,” Gaius said, closing his book and setting it to the side.
“What do I do? Every time I try to talk to her I make a fool out of myself,” Merlin said, pouting slightly.
Gaius thought for a moment. “Well, I can't help you there… What interests her?”
Merlin smiled. “She loves animals, books, and…” Merlin paused, thinking back to the other day when he had seen you in the forest, dancing on top of a large tree stump, wildflowers in your hair. “She likes to dance.”
“Take her dancing.”
“I can't dance! I have two left feet!” Merlin hissed.
“Then ask her to teach you,” Gaius said, standing up and walking off.
Merlin shook his head. He knew for a fact that he would be a horrible student.
.-.-.
Merlin walked through the forest, foraging for different plants and wondering how in the world he would get your attention.
Then he heard a twig snap. Merlin spun around to see you walking through the forest. He felt that familiar surge in his heart. You were beautiful.
You reached up to grab an apple from a tree, but you were just a little too short to reach it. Merlin was about to go and help you when you twitched your hand, shooting out a small shard of ice that cut the stem of the apple, causing it to fall into your waiting hands.
Shocked, the basket slipped from his fingers, alerting you of his presence. You turned and your face went pale. “Merlin i-i can explain…” you said, holding your palms up and slowly backing away.
Merlin walked towards you and you whimpered, clearly afraid.
“I'm sorry,” you whispered. “Please… please don’t turn me in…” you pleaded, falling to your knees. “I-ill never use magic again pease, just don't-don’t turn me in…” you sobbed, trembling as he drew closer.
You flinched when he placed his hand on your shoulder. “Please,” you begged.
Merlin knelt and pulled your trembling body into his arms. “Shhh, it's ok…” he whispered, gently running his fingers through your hair. “I'm not going to turn you in…”
You looked up at him, tears still streaming down your face. “You- you’re not?”
Merlin rubbed your back. “We can't help what we're born with,” he whispered, gently wiping away your tears.
You leaned against him as your breathing slowed. “You're really not going to turn me in?”
Merlin shook his head. “I'd be a bit of a hypocrite if I did,” he said, extending his hand, waiting for the basket to come to him.
You looked at him with shock before smiling softly. “I thought I was the only one…”
Merlin smiled softly and shook his head. “No, you're not alone, y/n.”
Those words made you feel both safe and seen for the first time in years. You leaned into him, relaxing in his embrace.
“y/n?”
You looked up. “Yes?”
“I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here.”
You smiled up at him. “Thank you merlin.”
.-.-.
You ran down the moonlit street, tears streaming down your eyes. You rounded a corner and knocked on Merlin’s window, praying he would be awake.
The curtains parted and Merlin looked at you confused. “y/n what are you doing here?” he asked, leaning out the window a little. He scanned your form, you were trembling and only half dressed.
You blushed slightly, realizing just how exposed you were. The shame was short lived though. You threw your arms around his neck, tears threatening to spill from your eyes.
“y/n?”
“I-i…” the tears finally won and you let out a sob.
“Hey, whats wrong?”
“M-my father he-”
“Is he sick?”
“No,” you said, shaking your head. “He came home drunk. He- he hits me i-” you gasped as Merlin pulled you through the window and cradled you in his arms.
“Shh, im here, you're safe…” Merlin whispered, gently rubbing your back.
You let out another sob. “C-can i stay here tonight?” you pleaded.
“Yes, of course…” Merlin whispered, gently rocking left and right. “It's ok, I'm here, I'm here.”
You relaxed a little and the next thing you knew, it was morning.
You sat up slowly, wincing at your newly formed bruise on your side. Merlin was nowhere in sight. You slowly crawled out of the bed and saw a shirt and trousers folded and sitting on the chair. You looked down at your night clothes and sighed. Trousers would be better than a dress you could see right through. You put them on, blushing at the thought that you were wearing Merlin’s clothes.
You slowly opened the door and saw Gwen and Merlin talking. Gwen had a basket of dirty laundry in her arms. “He hit her again didn't he?”
Merlin hesitated to answer. Finally he nodded.
Gwen growled. “This has gone on too far, one of these times he's going to really hurt her…”
“She is hurt,” Merlin hissed, anger in his voice.
“I mean what if he causes more permanent injuries? He could really do some damage one of these times.”
“Not if I have anything to say about it.”
“Wait, where are you going?” Gwen asked as Merlin went to the door.
“To give him a piece of my mind,” Merlin said angrily.
“Merlin you can't just go and punch him, think about where that anger is going to end up, he’ll take it out on y/n,”
Merlin paused. “He hit her.”
“I know-”
“He hit her! y/n did nothing to deserve that, nothing.”
“Merlin-”
“I can't just stand here and let her get hurt again. I'd be a horrible person if I did nothing.”
You slowly made your way down the stairs and came up behind Merlin, wrapping your arms around him.
Merlin turned and looked at you with sad eyes. “y/n…”
You hid your face in his chest, slowly taking in his scent.
Suddenly. The bell tolled. “I have to go,” Gwen said, going to the door. “Take care of her, Merlin,” she said as the door closed behind her.
Merlin gently tilted your chin up. “Hey, look at me.”
You met his gaze.
“I'm going to take care of you… ok?”
You nodded.
Merlin had you sit on the couch and he placed his hand over a bruise that had formed on your jaw. His eyes turned yellow and you felt a warm tingling sensation then the pain stopped. “What other wounds do you have?”
You lifted the shirt enough to reveal your bruised side.
Merlin gasped before placing a hand over your bruised side, making the pain recede.
You looked up at Merlin and smiled. “Thank you.’’
Merlin gently hugged you. “Stay.”
“I'm right here…”
“No, I mean for good. The room next to mine is empty, Gaius wont mind. You’ll be safe here, I can protect you this way… please.”
You blushed at his request before nodding. “I- ok…”
Merlin smiled. “Do you want me to go with you to help you get your things?”
You hesitated. “I- maybe we should make sure Gaius is ok with it first.”
Someone cleared their throat. You looked over to see Gaius. “Merlin and I have already discussed it.”
You smiled and looked back at merlin.
He stood and you followed, going to get your things.
.-.-.
“Well I think that's everything…” Merlin said, placing the last of your dresses in a drawer.
“Merlin?” you asked, looking up.
“Yes?”
“Why are you doing all of this for me?” you asked.
Merlin paused before walking over to you. “Because I love you,” he whispered.
You stood on Gimli’s left as you waited for the battle to begin. You had joined Aragorn and the others when they set off in search of Merry and Pippin. You had told them that you'd seen a pack of orcs but were unable to fight off that large number on your own.
The elves had come to aid Rohan in this battle. You had been helping get the men ready for battle and hadn't been present for their arrival.
“I cant see anything!” Gimli complained to Legolas, jumping in hopes of seeing over the wall.
“Shall i describe it to you, or shall i find you a box?” legolas asked.
You expected Gimli to be angry at legolas for teasing him about his height. Instead he laughed. You smiled. “There isn't much to see, its too dark.” you said to Gimli, reassuring him he wasn't missing anything of importance.
When the ladders appeared, you knew the fun was about to begin. “Legolas, two already!” Gimli shouted excitedly.
“Im on seventeen!”
You chuckled. “Twenty!” you shouted, skewering another orc.
“Oy, ant no pointy ears outsourcing me!” Gimli shouted, swinging his ax and taking down an orc.
You got separated from the others and ended up fighting with a few of the elves, glad to be in the midsts of your own kin even if it was during a battle. As you fought, you recognized one of the elves Haldir. You hadnt seen him in over two hundred years but you recognized his fighting style anywhere. You wanted to go and greet him, but you knew now was not the right time.
You shot an orc and smiled. “Thirty-one,” you counted.
“You arent participating in that foolishness are you?” a voice asked. You turned and saw Haldir. He was frowning.
“Whats wrong with having a bit of fun?” you knew he wouldnt recognise you due to your armor. Your weapon was of Dwarvish make, you’d lost your sword and Gimli had lent you his second ax, which you gladly accepted.
“The battlefield is nat for games.” he huffed, killing an orc.
“Oh, why are you always so serious?” you asked, killing another two orcs. “If this happens to be my last battle, i intend to go down with a smile… thirty-five,” you counded, swinging the ax.
“Haldir!” Aragorn's voice echoed over the sound of steal on steal. “Retreat!”
Haldir called for the others to retreat and he made way back into the fortress. You were close behind.
“Thirty-seven, thirty-eight, thirty-nine…forty…”
You heard a sound of pain and turned, Haldir was outnumbered. You ran to his aid, killing the orc that intended to take his head.
Haldir nodded in thanks.
You went to reply when you felt a presence behind you. You spun and killed the orc that had tried to stab you. “Forty-two…” you said.
Haldir motioned for you to fallow. “Stay close, I’ll get you out of here,”he said, helping you down the stairs. You killed one last orc before something hit the back of your skull, rendering you unconscious.
“Forty-three…” Haldir counted before catching you.
.-.-.
When you woke, you were on a bed in the medical room. You slowly sat up. A hand gently rested on your back. You looked over to see Haldir, he was smiling softly. “I wasn't expecting to see you here… let alone be saved by you…” he whispered, gently grabbing your hand and giving it a soft squeeze.
You felt it as pink ran to your cheeks.
Haldir cupped your chin with his other hand, gently having you meet his eyes. “I owe you my life.” he whispered.
You shook you head. “You dont owe me anyth-” you gasped softly as he placed a finger over your lips.
“y/n…” he slowly leaned closer, lips about to touch yours when the doors opened. He pulled back and frowned.
Gimli ran over to where you were and legolas was close behind. “You gave us quite a fright lass!” Gimli said as he drew closer.
You chuckled. “ i am quite alright Gimli… i’ll be back to myself shortly.” you said.
Gimli smiled and legolas sat on the edge of the bed.
“What happened after the retreat?” you asked.
“Gandalf showed up with reinforcements.” legolas said. “We won.”
You nodded. “And now what do we plan on doing? When do we return to rohan?”
“We are in rohan, you were asleep the whole time.” Haldir said.
“Oh…”
“Theres going to be quite the celebration tonight, i expect you to stay here and-”
“I am fine, Gimli… i wouldnt miss a chance to beat the two of you in a competition.” you said smiling and slowly rising. “Besides i am fine…merely a wack in the head i will survive.”
“Youmust have the skull of a dwarf to be able to walk off a hit like that!” Gimli said, clearly shocked that you were walking.
“Or very thick armor.” you said.
Gimli nodded. “Yes now come, Aragorn will be delighted to see you awake and the hobbits are here with us.”
You gave Haldir one last glance before Legolas and Gimli dragged you out of the room.
You watched as the hobbits danced on the table. You shook your head and made your way out of the hall, the noise causing your head to pound.
You stood outside, looking up at the stars.
“y/n…”
You turned to see haldir.
“We both know you are not healed… come, sit.” he said, gently grabbing your arm and steading you. You hadnt even noticed that your legs were trembling until he had took your arm.
He led you over to the steps and you sat, gazing up at the sky. “Where are all the others?”
“What?”
“The rest of the elves… where are they?”
“They returned to lorien, I stayed behind to be sure of your safety.”
You looked at him with surprise. “You stayed for me?”
Haldir gently placed a hand on your cheek, caressing it. “I did…” he whispered, leaning closer.
Your eyes fell shut as his lips landed on yours.
Haldir caressed your cheek anain after he pulled away. “I love you…”
You chuckled and placed your lips on his again, arms sliping around his middle. “I love you too…”
warnings: blood, fear, a little angst with a happy ending.
You were sitting with a book in your hands when the scouts returned you put your book away and went to greet your husband. You searched the group but didn’t see him. “Feren,” you said stoping the elf. “Where is my husband?”
His expression darkened more than it was already. “There was an ambush, he stayed behind so the rest of us could escape…” he looked at his feet.
You felt a pit grow in your throat as your stomach tied itself into nots. He was out there somewhere, alone. Hurt. Possibly even dead. “W-where was this ambush?” You asked, wringing your hands nervously.
“On the edge of the forest not too far from Moria, goblins…” he whispered.
You felt more dread. “I- thank you…” you went back to the chambers you shared with your husband and grabbed his extra bow, a quiver with as many arrows as you could fit, a sword, water, and bandages that you prayed you wouldn’t need.
You then slipped away, sticking to the shadows that the moon cast.
“Lady y/n?”
You stoped dead in your tracks. “I-it’s not what it looks like I-”
Feren held his hand up. “We’re coming with you. He isn’t just our captan he’s our friend.”
“We?”
Two others came running up.
You smiled and nodded. The four of you then slipped into the forest. “Lead the way,” you said to Feren.
He took the lead and you fallowed close behind, fear poking the back of your mind. You did your best to shoo the fear away. You needed to find your husband. You prayed it wouldn’t be his dead body.
-.-.-
The four of you arrived at the ambush point as the sun was rising meaning the goblins were back in the mountain. “Now we just have to find him…” you whispered, eyes darting around the forest before you looked back at Feren.
“You two go left. Y/n and I will go right. Meet back here in an hour.”
The other two disappeared and you fallowed Feren to the right. “How many goblins were there when he decided to take them on alone?”
Feren shook his head. “A lot… I-I don’t know how manny it was too dark to see most of them.”
You gulped and searched the forest for your husband. “Look!” You pointed to a dead goblin before running over to it. You studied the arrow sticking out of its chest. “This is one of his.”
“How do you know? All of our arrows are identical.”
You smiled and pointed to a little star carved into the shaft of the arrow. “He does that to all of them…”
You stood and put the arrow in the quiver on your back. It wasn’t damaged it could be used again. “Well at least we know he went this way…” you continued to walk. “Look, another one.”
For half an hour you fallowed the trail. “We’re getting close.”
“Where did you learn to track like this?”
You smiled. “Did you forget who I married? My husband insisted on teaching me how to use a sword, bow, and how to track people.” You paused and squinted before gasping. “Haldir.” You breathed before running to him, jumping over a fallen log and tripping over your own feet. You skidded to a halt and looked for any traps. When you saw none you drew closer to him.
He was leaning agents a tree, eyes closed, breath shallow. You slowly knelt next to him and he weakly moved to fight you. You batted his weak attack to the side and grabbed his hands. “Haldir. It’s me, it’s y/n…” you whispered as Feren stood a respectable distance away from the two of you.
“Y/n?” He chuckled “I’m hallucinating now…I’m dying that’s why. The valar are allowing me to hear her voice one last time before I pass…” he sighed.
You frowned. He was exhausted. You gently placed a hand on his cheek, stroking it with your thumb. “I’m here… everything will be ok…” you pushed his sweat soaked hair out of his face. “Feren,” you said not taking your eyes off your husband. “Get the others.”
“And leave you here?”
“He can’t walk, I’m not leaving him here alone. Get the others and meet me back here, I’ll be fine. The sun is up, the odds of me being attacked are low.”
Feren nodded and went to find the others, leaving you to care for your husband.
You gently stroked his cheek again. “Haldir, meleth please open your eyes. Use my voice as an anchor, open your eyes please…”
He forced his pale blue eyes open and you sighed with relief. His eyes slowly focused on you. “I’m here love…”
“Y-you shouldn’t be here… it’s not safe…” he muttered.
You smiled and sat with your back agents the tree and carefully pulled him closer. His head fell on your chest and you smiled, gently runing your fingers through his hair. “What hurts?”
He mumbled his answer in elvish and you sighed. He wasn’t hurt bad. Just little wounds all over. He was just exhausted.
You carefully checked over his body anyways. His worst injury was on his thigh. And even that wasn’t too deep.
“Y/n…”
“Yes love?”
He slowly slipped an arm around your waist. “D-do you have any water?”
You smiled and kissed his forehead, ignoring the fact that he was dirty. “Yes, hold on…”
You moved to grab it and he put his other arm around you. “I thought I was going to die…”
A tear slid down his cheek and you wiped it away. “No, you’re here. Everything is alright.” You then pressed the water skin on his lips and he gulped down the water.
“I’m tired…”
“I know love…I know… wait just a little longer…ok?”
He didn’t answer. You looked down and smiled. He was asleep, head on your chest, arms around your waist.
-.-.-
When Haldir woke he felt sore everywhere. Light poured over his face and he squinted before looking around. His wounds were bandaged. His cloths had been swapped for new ones. He was clean again. He looked over and smiled. You were asleep at his side, arm gently slung over his middle like always. He rolled onto his side and pressed a kiss on your cheek.
You smiled in your sleep and moved closer to him. He put an arm around you and closed his eyes. He was safe.
You woke shortly after Haldir had fallen back asleep. You smiled and pressed a kiss on his slightly bruised cheek before forcing yourself out of bed.
He moved his hand over the bed searching for your body. You put your pillow under his arm and he immediately snuggled up to it, making you want to laugh. He was such a snuggly baby when it came to you.
You wanted to surprise him with breakfast so you placed another kiss on his cheek and headed to the kitchen.
The lady Galadriel had ordered that he stay home for a solid week and rested. No unnecessary work allowed.
You smiled at the thought. You got your husband all to yourself for a whole week!
You prepared breakfast, the smell of pancakes and freshly cut fruit rousing Haldir from his sleep. He went to pull you closer and found only a pillow that smelled like you. He frowned and went to get out of bed when your little ginger cat, pumpkin, slipped under his arm and purred as she nuzzled up to his chest.
You placed breakfast on a tray and returned to the bedroom. You smiled as Haldir gently pet the cat.
You placed the tray down on the side table and cleared your throat. His eyes opened. “Good morning.” You said, stacking the pillows and having him sit up. “I made breakfast…”
He smiled. “Thank you dear.”
He went to get up and you stoped him. “You don’t have to head back to work for a week. You need rest and lots of it.” You then set the tray on his lap. “Eat.”
“Breakfast in the bed?”
You smiled and kissed his cheek. “Mmm.”
He smiled as you went and brought back your own plate of food. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m- pumpkin no, that isn’t for you!”
You chuckled as she tried to steal the food. “Pumpkin!” You put her at the foot of the bed and she meowed at you. “No,leave him alone.”
When the two of you had finished eating you both fell back asleep in each others arms.
Sorry I’ve been so inactive lately I’ve had a long few months. (Good but long) and I couldn’t fit in much time for writing but I’m back now and will try to update at least once a week save for December that will probably be every other week because the holidays are insane.
You returned to 221b exhausted. One more thing and you knew you would burst into tears. You just needed a long, hot shower, and to sleep for as long as you wanted.
You hadn't even finished taking off your shoes when your name was called from the living room. You took a slow breath and let it out you then walked into the living room. “What is it, Sherlock?” you asked you immediately scolded yourself for sounding so small and weak.
“I was wondering if you could-” Sherlock paused when he saw your face. “Oh y/n what's wrong?” he asked, walking over to you.
“I-it nothing.” you lied, voice trembling a little. “What was it you wanted me to do?” you asked, unable to meet his eyes.
“Nothing, it can wait,” he said gently.
“Sherlock i-” you fell silent as he slowly, cautiously, put his arms around you. You couldn't recall him even once showing you or anyone else physical affection. “s-sherlock? “
He gently rubbed your back. “Long day?”
You opened your mouth to answer but instead broke down in tears, sobbing into his shoulder. You felt Sherlock stiffen, clearly shocked by your sudden raw display of emotions, you were normally so calm and collected that even Sherlock had a hard time reading you. “y/n?”
“I'm sorry!” you sobbed. “I-i don't mean to cry i-” Sherlock gently shushed you before slowly and gently leading you over to his chair. He sat and pulled you into his lap, rocking to and fro as you cried.
“Its ok, y/n, let it out… its ok im here…im here…” he whispered, holding you close to his chest. When you had no tears left to cry, you relaxed in his arms. “Do you want to talk about it?” he asked, gently stroking your hair.
You shook your head, continuing to hide your face. “Just hold me… please…” you whimpered, clutching his shirt.
He chuckled softly and pulled you closer. “Of course y/n… of course i will.”
You snuggled as close to him as possible and yawned before closing your eyes.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. You whimpered and hid your face in the crook of his neck. “No!” Sherlock shouted, placing his hand on the back of your head. “Go away!” there was another knock and Sherlock cursed under his breath. “I'll be right back ok?”
You whimpered but nodded. Knowing he had to deal with whoever was at the door. Sherlock covered you with a blanket and gently kissed your forehead before going to the door. You placed your fingers on your forehead, startled by his actions.
There was another knock. “What?!” Sherlock yelled, opening the door. “What do you- oh, hey John.”
“You seem angry, is everything alright?”
“Oh it's just….” Sherlock looked over at you. “y/n’s had a long day… she needs some quiet.”
“Oh,” John said. “Well i- here,” he said, handing Sherlock a folder. “That's our next case, I'll come back tomorrow, take care.”
Sherlock came back to you and tossed the file on the coffee table before pulling you back into his lap. “The case can wait,” he said when you began to protest. “You're much more important.”
You smiled and closed your eyes. “Thank you sherlock…”
“What?”
“You didn't have to do this for me…”
“Oh yes I did, you're my top priority.”
“What?” you asked, looking over at him confused.
“I-i wasn't planning on telling you but… you have a right to know…” Sherlock sighed and looked at you softly. “I like you, y/n… I like you a lot,” he whispered. “More than I wish to admit…”
You blushed and then put your arms around him. “I like you too…” you whispered, gently placing a kiss on his cheek.
Sherlock chuckled and hid his face in your neck. “And here I was worried you wouldn't feel the same…”
“And why wouldn't I feel the same? You're absolutely incredible…” you whispered, gently kissing the top of his head. “I like you a lot… have for quite some time…”
Sherlock smiled and kissed your cheek. “ I'm glad…” he said.
what are you doing? He asked as you leaned closer.
y/n: just let me kiss you already.
Lindir turned pink before grabbing you and pushing you back until you ended up agents the wall then he kissed you with passion. “Y/n… you have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this…” he mumbled, pressing his body agents yours. “Mmmm… you taste like strawberries…”
you chuckled at his words. You had just eaten strawberries. (If ur allergic to strawberries choose something else) “well, I did just-”
He didn’t let you finish. “You taste too good…” he mumbled, lips back on yours.
You gently knocked on the door to lord Ellrond’s study before entering. “I got the things you needed…” you said in a soft voice, not wanting to disturb him if he was doing something important.
“Thank you, y/n…” he said, not even looking up from what he was doing.
You set the things down on the extra chair in his study and turned to leave before pausing in the doorway. “Would you like me to bring you anything else? Tea perhaps?”
Elrond nodded. “Tea would be wonderful…” he mumbled.
You nodded and quietly left, heading to get him that tea. He’d more than earned it. You wandered down the hall and into the kitchen.
You returned and quietly entered, setting the tea on the table as Elrond grabbed a few books off the shelf, one falling in the process. You heard him sigh, clearly exhausted. “Ill get it.” you said, bending down and picking up the book that had fallen, offering to take the other books as well.
Elrond let you take the books and you set them down before turning and looking up at him. He looked exhausted. You slowly walked over and debated upon your next move before slowly putting your arms around his middle, providing him plenty of time to reject the hug. When he didn't you let your head fall on his chest. “Long day?”
He hummed in response before letting his arms wrap around you. He slowly went to press his lips on your forehead.
“Is there anything I can help with?” you asked, looking up at him. As you looked up, his lips met yours, causing you to turn red.
Elrond was just about to pull away when your hands flew around his neck, pulling him close to deepen the kiss, letting your lips lock with his.
Elrond pulled your body closer, his chest pressing on yours. Finally, he pulled back, needing to breathe.
Your cheeks were dusted over with pink and you smiled, looking up at him with a spark in your eyes. “Well, that's not how i imagined my first kiss but i must say, i'm not disappointed.” you let your body fall into his and he smiled softly, pulling you in for another kiss.
Your fingers found his hair, getting tangled in the silky brown strands. He took slow steps back, searching for the armchair. When he found it he sat, pulling you onto his lap and continuing the kiss, clearly longing for you above his work…
