Ark is fun because its the only game where a lack of tutorial feels appropriate.

Your survivor, who just woke up basically naked on a random beach with a weird thing in their arm, doesn’t know what the fuck is happening and neither do you. Flail around until you can piece something together and then keep going as things you can’t overpower kill and eat you.

If the game went “press RT to punch and kill dinosaur” it would feel weird.  its not great for everyone and i wish things were more accessible, but also i have to begrudgingly admit it makes sense for what it is.
