It has been awhile since i did any superhero/scifi mash up. here’s spock holding Loki’s scepter while riding charlie the velociraptor from jurassic world. and they are trapped in the planet of Dagobah, where Yoda trained Luke. you can see Luke Skywalker’s x wing in the swamp.

February’s theme over at Planet-Pulp is all things Disney Heroes!

I wanted to be a little more loose with the execution on this and I have to admit it was a lot of fun! Thoughts? Too much Mary Blair?

Also if you’re looking at Planet-Pulp and thinking “Hey! I can hang with those cats! I want to be a part of this!” then message me and I’ll put you in touch. It’s a super exclussy club but they are accepting new members all the time so why not?

Lately I've been trying to get back into my sketching. I feel that since I got into design my drawing has been put on the back burner, so whenever I get a chance I experiment as much as I can trying to get back into that habit :)

Nancy Wake, who has died in London just before her 99th birthday, was a New Zealander brought up in Australia. She became a nurse, a journalist who interviewed Adolf Hitler, a wealthy French socialite, a British agent and a French resistance leader. She led 7,000 guerrilla fighters in battles against the Nazis in the northern Auvergne, just before the D-Day landings in 1944. On one occasion, she strangled an SS sentry with her bare hands. On another, she cycled 500 miles to replace lost codes. In June 1944, she led her fighters in an attack on the Gestapo headquarters at Montlucon in central France. Ms Wake was furious the TV series [later made about her life] suggested she had had a love affair with one of her fellow fighters. She was too busy killing Nazis for amorous entanglements, she said. Nancy recalled later in life that her parachute had snagged in a tree. The French resistance fighter who freed her said he wished all trees bore “such beautiful fruit.” Nancy retorted: “Don’t give me that French shit.”

Tonight at iam8bit is the launch party and gallery show to celebrate the new Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo and I did few more Collected Curiosities to celebrate!

The show has such a stellar supporting cast and even the characters that are on screen for just a second feel like they have a history to them. With that spirit in mind, item #04052010-01 features the candy corn rats, #04052010-02 houses the Lumpy Space portal frog, and item #04052010-03 is a collection of the more peculiar insects found in Ooo.

If you’re in the LA area tonight you should definitely make your way over there and let me know how great the whole thing is!

Four quick treehouses for the Brussels Airlines magazine b.spirit. It was hard with these to escape the influence of the fantastic Patrick Hruby (who is easily one of my favourite artists and illustrated this beautiful book), and I don’t feel I was entirely successful in that effort. For all that though, I like how these turned out.
