So. I have an actual website for the first time in my career, meaning the URL that used to point to this blog now hosts my professional portfolio. You can check that out here: https://www.robindavey.co.uk/
This tumblr will stay up at it’s original address, but is unlikely to see a lot of updates in future: http://robinwdavey.tumblr.com/
A much better place to catch me nowadays is over on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/robin_davey/
Sincere thanks to everyone who liked, followed, and shared my stuff over the last 6 (!) or so years. This platform was majorly instrumental in me having any visibility in the wider field of illustration and animation, something for which I’ll always be grateful.
Take care, hope to see you out there.

Here’s the teaser I put together for Saturday Club, coming to Hopster early next year.
Very happy to say I will be creative lead on Saturday Club, a new preschool series from Northern Irish children’s media company Dog Ears.
Coming to the children’s streaming service Hopster in 2019, the show follows four friends as they get together every Saturday to talk about their week and explore what life is like in other people’s shoes.
More here.
A lucky 7, made of lucky charms. My last contribution to Buck’s spot for Holden. I animated this one too.
My second task for Buck’s Holden spot was to design these wedding cake toppers inspired by Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. The seven couples were posed sequentially so as to suggest a single dance move. Again my designs were executed in 3D beautifully, I love the moulding seams.
Watch the clip and find full credits here.
I recently had the pleasure of working with the mighty Buck on their seven-themed spot for Holden. This is the first shot I worked on, my designs were translated in to 3D and given a beautiful ‘stop-motion’ treatment.
Lots of great talent on this thing, check it out and find full credits here.
Loops commissioned for the launch campaign of a new game from Veikkaus, the Finnish lottery company. My designs, brilliantly animated by Rhys Byfield.
Some small food and drink spots for the Wall Street Journal
My character designs for Square Peg, Mighty Nice’s film for Sprinklr, and below them my original pitch illustrations. At one point the characters were each going to be based on a basic geometric form, and live in a corresponding house.
The brilliant Mighty Nice asked me to design a bunch of stuff (characters, environments, vehicles etc) for this film for the social media management platform Sprinklr. They brought it all to life beautifully I think :)
Full credits here.
A closer look at those flowers. Clockwise from top left: Yellow dahlia, ranunculus, seeded eucalyptus, lily, and tulip.
Something a bit different. I made this pattern, featuring some of my fiancée’s favourite flowers, for our own wedding invites. Ranunculus, lily, yellow dahlia, white veronica, tulip, and seeded eucalyptus.
Some commercial work from a while back that was recently spotted in the wild, illustrations for the website of Finnish insurance brand Nippu.
Illustrations on the topic of the decline of cash, for the magazine Economia. The spread is kind of a play on the Ascent of Man, while the spots are about Sweden's uptake of the payment app Swish, China overtaking the UK in cashless transactions, and South Koreans being encouraged to cash in their coinage for travel cards.
I contributed a shot to this collaborative short film from Erica Gorochow, essentially a post-Brexit, post-Trump plea for sanity in this year's elections around Europe. Please watch and share if you’re so inclined. Thanxxxx
