- Natasha visits you in hospital after you give birth - based off (x)
20 hours of pain. A day after you gave birth to your beautiful baby boy and all the pain was worth it. Bucky napped in a chair next to the bed as you held Grant James Barnes closely in your arms. A soft knock drew you out of your haze.
Natasha poked her head in, a soft smile on her face. When you gave her a slight nod to enter, she walked in teddy bear and flowers in hand. Placing them on a nearby table she walked over to you almost in a daze. Her eyes stayed glued to Grant until she was right next to you.
“Meet Grant James Barnes, do you want to hold him?” you whispered, Nat’s eyes widening at the proposition. She nods and you sit up, carefully handing her the baby. She held him as if he was made of porcelain, running her finger down his cheek ever so gently. Grant stirred but settled into Natasha’s arms.
“He’s so beautiful Y/N” she murmured completely enamoured with how his tiny features already reminded her of you and Bucky.
She looked up at you, studying your face. “How are you though?”  she asked with sisterly concern.
“Tired, he wouldn’t stop crying” you sighed, leaning back against the pillows.
Natasha smiled a small smile “he’s a newborn it’s bound to happen”. She looked back down at Grant now sleeping soundly.
You shook your head and sighed. “Oh no not him, the other one” you looked pointedly at Bucky who was now napping.
Natasha almost laughed at the thought of the infamous Winter Soldier crying all night but when she saw the softness of Bucky’s face as he slept peacefully she felt a gentle smile grace her face instead. Bucky stirred and woke slowly, cracking an eye open.
“Oh, hey Nat” he stretched in his blue scrubs, slightly uncomfortable in the clothes. He got up and walked over, kissing her on the cheek in greeting. As he looked down at the little bundle his whole face lit up.
“Hey, little guy” he whispered, placing the tiniest of kisses on his forehead. You watched on with the beginnings of tears in your eyes, so incredibly happy. Natasha carefully transferred Grant to Bucky and he sat back down in his chair. Suddenly his face took on a different expression, one of confusion and frustration.
“I didn’t cry all night, you know” he grumbled, Natasha and you suppressing your laughter so as not to wake the sleeping baby.
