"Okie Doke!" I say with a shrug as I carefully stop and crouch low so Eden can get off without hurting her stomach. As she climbs off, I pat her on the head and give her a smile before straightening up and grabbing both my hatchets. Need to have extra protection just in case an evil witch tries to murder us and bake us into a pie again!
"I agree." Nodding my head, I turn and give Kathleen a little smile. "What do you think? This look like a good resting spot for you?"
"It's certainly better than sleeping outside." Quickly, we walk to the little cottage. It was getting dark and colder than what I could deal with. District Five was always such a comfortable sense regarding temperatures and I now appreciated more than ever before. And missed it too.
As we walk in, weapons ready to attack, we find it clear of danger - at least for now. We eat some of what was send to us in the parachute and, soon enough, go to sleep.
Tomorrow is a new day.
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
I had to contain any noise when Rena began to run, instead holding on for dear life so I wouldn’t crash to the ground and bury myself deep into the snow. Who knew that this girl could run so fast? I silently giggled to myself, convinced that Rena could tell if I wasn’t happy where I was. She was odd that way.
I turned back to look at Kathleen and hoped that she could keep up with us, now that Rena was sprinting as fast as she could possibly go.
"If it works for you." They were cute, seemly naive. But I did have to quick my pace to keep up with them.
As we got the closer, the castle seemed to look darker, almost morbid. I started to feel like this wasn't a good idea. We didn't know what we would find in there and, logically, we had to choose the option that could keep us alive. "Girls. I don't think going in there is a good idea."
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
Their worries brought me back to my old self, apart from the freezing cold that was still effecting me constantly, and I smiled up at the two of them. “No, don’t worry I can make it just fine!” I’m sure I could walk for hours, but I either had the choice to actually sit and rest when we got to the castle or say it went away. Couldn’t have them thinking I was fibbing, now could I?
I let out a small, forced but well rehearsed, squeal once I jumped on Rena’s back. It was really very nice of her, and now they couldn’t leave me behind or forget about me. That was something I had to make sure of.
And that solved the problem. "Tell me when you get tired Rena. I'll carry her." This would probably slow us down a little, but it was a better option than stopping completely. There had been a few canons already, and the probability of someone attacking us next was rapidly increasing.
"We're almost there." I couldn't help but to wonder what we would find in the castle, since I was yet to understand the whole witch and oven peculiar story they told me.

I took the opportunity and ran with it, placing a small, innocent pout across my lips. “My stomach still feels a little…. not good,” I said with a small shrug and an attempt at a smile. If I came right out and complained then they’d simply get annoyed and not want to pay attention, but I didn’t complain a lot they’d constantly care for me thinking that I was just keeping quiet about how I was actually feeling. It worked for weeks on end with my mother… well after what I had done.
"I can keep going, we don’t have to slow down really," I said with a forced smile, keeping up with the pace of the two girls. "I just may have to sit down a little bit when we get inside."
"Well, either way someone's trying to help us." Strangely, someone cared for three poor girls from the outline Districts.
I couldn't help but to chuckle at Rena's worries. Some could only imagine a girl with her cheery attitude to have a beautiful and fulfilling life, but there was something telling me there was more to it. Maybe I'll give in to my curiosity and question her about it once we're safe inside the castle.
"Are you sure you don't want to rest for a while now?" Poor girl.
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
I heard a faint jingle coming from above us, but when I looked up to see where it was coming from, the afternoon sun was so bright that I could barely make out what was floating down to us. As soon as it landed in front of us, I realized what it was. Either one of the three of us had a sponsor, or a random Capitol citizen felt bad for our position and decided to help us out.
I could smell the stew from here, and when Kathleen popped the capsule open to reveal water as well, I could have jumped for joy. My stomach was still doing flips, only a bit less violent in nature, and the smell of the soup made bile rise to my throat.
I followed the other girls’ gazes to the castle far in the distance and realized it would take us until dusk to reach it, but we didn’t stand a chance out here in the cold during the night. So as long as there wasn’t another cannibalistic witch inside, I was good.
They looked very happy with what we got. At least they seemed to feel better about eating now. Everything that wasn't candy, of course. "Do any of you have a sponsor? Have you received anything else?" I nodded at Rena's proposition. "I don't see why not. Not excited to sleep outside anyways." Some people seemed to have an incredible fascination for fairy tales. It sent a shiver down my spine and I rubbed my arms.
As for Eden, she was awfully quiet. I turned my head to the little girl and smiled sheepishly. "Are you feeling okay, Eden?"
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
Rena quickly defended the both of us, and her reasoning was the only one that made sense. After all, Kathleen never got the odd cravings for the sweets until she felt as though she was going to puke up the contents of her entire stomach.
I refused to be left behind my Rena and quickly hurried up so I was walking between the two girls, claiming that my stomach was hurting just a bit again. I let them continue their conversation, curious as to Kathleen’s answers as well. I hadn’t seen her since training, and so much has happened since then.
I shrugged. "Maybe." Cursed by the witch... I felt like I was back to the psych ward but decided to just ignore it and flash them a smile. We had bigger worries.at this time.
Suddenly, I look up and a small parachute is falling from God knows where, landing in front of us. I take a glance at the girls and kneel down to open it. Water and food. Perfect. "It looks like we're going to have a feast tonight." When I stand up again, I notice what looks like a castle in the horizon. Interesting.
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
Rena’s giggles grated on my nerves just a bit, but my smile continued to widen until it hurt my cheeks just a bit. Kathleen’s maternal shush sent Rena into another giggling fit and I didn’t have it in me to join her so I just kept smiling.
The snow wasn’t that difficult to traverse through, it could have definitely been a lot worse. As we kept walking, though, I realized how much of a trail we were leaving behind. It wouldn’t be difficult at all to follow us just by the tracks we were making.
It was going to be a problem making ourselves unnoticeable, I could tell. But they did seem to be enjoying themselves. To keep my mind away from the tragedies and misfortunes, I took the safety upon myself. I just prayed that no one saw our tracks.
"At least you two are feeling better. I wonder what the whole idea with the binge eating was."
Oh no. The dam has broken! Run! Run! Run!
I don’t think I’ve ever run that fast before. I sprinted straight for the open sugary window, dragging Kathleen behind who was still holding on to my hair. What a good friend she was! Sticking my head out of the window, I opened my...
These poor girls. I wanted to also go and help Eden, but clearly couldn't be in two places at one time. Anyways, I ended up walking towards the younger girl to make sure if she too was now alright and offered the both of them a small smile. "Are you feeling better now?" At least that unnecessary amount of sugar was now out of their systems.
I then kneeled on the floor, opening the pack I had retrieved from the bloodbath, since I was yet to do so. A sleeping back and some matches would always be useful; for food, a couple of sandwiches, a lemon and olives could last us a while if we rationalize them, along with a canteen of, hopefully, crystal clean water. At the sight of the throwing needles, I smiled, feeling a little safer, but couldn't help but to wonder if we would use the smoke bombs.
"Do you want to leave now?" I asked, while putting everything back in the bag.
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
"I’m trying!" I gasped out inbetween gobbling down bites of candy. Oooh, my stomach is really feeling like a big pile of doodoo right now…I think I’m going to be ill. I looked at Eden and she looked the same. I felt so bad, her little face was contorted in pain.
"Kathleen…can I ask you a favor? Can you please-oh dear- can you please hold my hair back right quick?… I don’t feel so good." I said that, but I continued to gobble down the sweets. I can’t stop…
I couldn't help but to roll my eyes a little. Clearly they were both not trying hard enough. But I nodded, wanting to be helpful in some way. This was a weird struggle for one to have in the Arena.
Taking yet more candy out of their hands, I did exactly what Rena asked me to do, holding her hair back and sympathetically placing a hand on her shoulder.
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
Oh dear. You know, I think something may be wrong…
After devouring what seemed like the one thousandth piece of candy in the past few minutes, I turned my head and looked at Kathleen. “You know, I knew we shouldn’t have eaten the candy! I think the candy is cursed or something. I just can’t stop…” Cookie in mouth “eating!” Oh goodness, I don’t feel so good…
They were definitely not okay. How could they even be hungry? Even thinking about eating made me feel sick at this point. It could be a trick from the Gamemakers, maybe something they ate before I got here. I walked over to Eden and gently slapped the cookie she was about to bite out of her hand.
"I don't think a curse is the problem. Maybe we should get out, you need to stop eating. I'm sure you can force yourself to, if you just try hard enough." I made my way over to Rena and just stared at her for a second. Nothing else really seemed to be wrong with them.
༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ || The Powerpuff Girls || Day 2
When my eyes fluttered open and I saw the nice, comforting sunshine coming through the candy windows, I internally cheered. Hurray, we had survived the night! Looking around, I noticed that neither Eden nor Kathleen had woken up yet. Oh well, I’ll let them sleep a little while longer, they deserve it!
Getting up, I noticed that I was hungrier than usual. Don’t get me wrong, I love to eat, but this felt different! Tip toe. Top toe. Tip toe. Can’t wake up my allies! Tip toe. Tip toe. With careful movements, I grabbed a few of the leftover cookies and started slowly devouring them. Goodness me, they tasted so good!
Last night, I had been woken up by the sound of the Fallen being flashed onto the dark sky. I stood up and looked outside the small window but, when I noticed Emilio's face and the replay of his death, I was lying back on the floor. If it wasn't for my broken heart, I would've appreciated the irony. Suddenly, I felt so alone, but I forced my eyes to close and my body to relax before I could start crying and thanked God for the exhaustion. I wasn't going to cry.
I wake up and notice a pair of feet in front of me. Rena. I couldn't tell if it still was early or not. For all I know, I could have slept for a whole week. "Rena, what are you doing?" I asked, when I noticed her eating some cookies like the world was going to end.

Locked doors usually mean that whatever is behind it is owned by someone. That wasn’t good. With a deep breath, I started to walk away, up north. Maybe there was another hut somewhere that I could hid in. If it was cold already, I could only assume it would get worse. And being outside was dangerous. Other tributes could easily spot me.
