Where in the world is Micronesia?

For those of you who are wondering, the Federated States of Micronesia is not the lesser-known neighbor to Macronesia, and it doesn’t even have a prime minister! The nation of over 300 tiny tropical islands juts out of the water smack dab in the middle of the Pacific ocean... somewhere between the Marshall Islands, Palau, and Guam. The country is broken up into four states: Pohnpei, Kosrae, Chuuk, and Yap. I live on Pohnpei (pronounced similarly to Pompeii, but with an n!), which also houses the nation’s capital. This lush, volcanic island boasts about 129 square miles of land area; in fact, it is so small that I once bought fish at the market behind the ex-president, Mani Mori. Picture purchasing fish with George Bush!
