Look at how in love Scrooge is! She could walk in and take his dime he wouldn't care as long as she allowed him to look a little longer at her.
Traditions need to be nourished, so here is my mini FF for this one:
Magica sat at the window of her little witch's hut and looked at her herb garden. It contained all the useful herbs you would expect to find in a witch's garden. But then there was one more plant. Mim had made fun of it heartily. "A rose bush? That's so typical of you again. The oldest witches would freak if they saw that." But she said it with a wink, Magica knew she could count on her best friend even if she didn't share many of her views and preferences.
Red roses, they always reminded Magica of a certain miserly old Scotsman. Of course she knew that thistles represented his homeland. But still, roses were beautiful to look at, could deal out painfully and where dressed in a red robe but the important thing was that they represented the feelings she harboured for this man…
Mim was right, she had the courage to go against the will of her masters, it was time she had the courage to face her feelings as well.
Without further ado, she cut off the most beautiful rose the bush had to offer and flew to Duckburg on her broom.
Scrooge spotted her from afar before the witch alarm could go off. He had had a feeling that Magics would be visiting him today. And his instincts never deceived him when it came to Magica…
He also realised immediately that she would not pose any danger today. Curious, he tried to recognise what she had in her hand. His cheeks reddened as he recognised it. But did she really mean it? One look into her eyes and at her reddened cheeks gave him hope. Sighing blissfully, Scrooge propped himself up on the windowsill and waited for her with a smile.
Wordlessly, she stopped the broom and held out the flower to him with a trembling hand. Although she was visibly nervous, she looked him boldly in the eye.
Scrooge didn't say anything either. Returning her gaze, he took the rose. Time stood still as they sank into each other.
Perhaps they still lacked the courage for words today. But as we all know, a flower says more than a thousand of them…
