Katie Matlin looked back at Jake Martin it was true they always flowed so naturally together she knew about Clare’s cancer diagnosis back when the younger girl was going into senior year she remembered she sent a card and flowers before she went to Soocer camp that summer.

“That’s really good I’m glad to hear” she admitted she always thought of Clare like a younger sister but she couldn’t help it she already had a younger sister Maya so of course she naturally would.

But she noticed his expression and that pained she heard before but she misses when he would flash that goofy smile which made hee blush in high school.

"Oh?" Disappeared she wanted to to see more of him but who was kidding she knows how they ended but she was not going to let him go this time.

"I will clear my schedule and I can show you around if you would like?"

She had more confidence now more assured of herself she may had got her life on track and a good therapist.

Jake shook his head. Katie was talented, way more talented than him, he had encouraged her because he knew that that was where her heart was. 

❝you would have figured it out without me. You don't give yourself enough credit Katie matlin❞ he simply stated. 

He gave her smile one that told her he was telling the truth. She was always way harder on herself than she needed to be, and Jake had tried to help her with that while they were together. 

Jake smiled ❝I would love that, I'm here with claire, she's doing some peace on the theater department, but I haven't seen her for a couple hours, I'll just text her to say that we're hanging out.❞ 

For some reason he felt the need to narrate as he texted ❝hey sis, ran into katie, hanging out for a while.❞

Some pinkish colour appears on her cheek slightly she did love how he tease “Well better that you are here” she grins sweetly at him she appreciates that he’s here now.

“Thank you I’m really enjoying it I even joined the The Stanford Daily and even tryout for the soccer team gong good” she been keeping hers busy of course and she does hope maybe her and Jake will reconnect.

She wonders how long he be here maybe by some time “How long you staying?” Her eyes hopeful.

Seeing the blush on her cheeks brought him right back to high school. How they would talk at the garden, and any small compliment would cause her to blush. He always wondered how true must have treated her, even a small compliment cause her such a reaction 

Jake couldn't help but smile. Soccer in the paper had been her whole life and to see her have it again while that just made him really happy ❝good for you Matlin I'm glad you found yourself❞ 

Although I talked a little bit of pain because she had found herself without him and he was still searching ❝only a few days❞

As Katie was making it more of attempting to escape however when she heard a familiar voice it was none other than Jake Martin. She took a moment to look him over just so she wasn’t imagining things but nope the same goofy grin the way his shirt just fits.

“Jake?” She heard herself before she walks over almost bumping into some poor unsuspecting freshmen in which she quickly apologised.

“Wow it’s really is you?” She tilts her head it was so bright.

Her heart was beating but she knows that they had a lot to talk about or not as they left things not so great but he wasn’t the only guy who really was there.

Jake really wasn't sure how to approach it. I had broken up and had been pretty messy, however they seem to reconcile around prom. But then they drifted apart over the summer and they kind of just lost touch. Should he shake her hand? Should he hug her? Should he just acknowledge her presence? 

In the end he settled on a hug. He didn't want it to be awkward, but he really did want to hug her. Because whatever happened between them he was genuinely happy to see her. See her thriving, see her happy. 

❝god I hope so❞ he teased her a bit, remembering how easily it all had been

Katie Matlin has been doing pretty well at Stanford University a new fresh start is what she needed especially after the senior year she had in high school which had their ups and well downs also.

She was studying journalism of course while joining the Girl’s Soccer team at the university and after the doctors cleared her she was fit to play however that wasn’t the only thing she missed back home.

After long days she would study in the library which was peaceful her roommate who had a guy over so the sock on the door made her cringe and a little nostalgic possibly for what she had with a certain tall guy with a very sexy smile reminds her of how good it was after Drew Torres broke her heart Jake Martin was there.

But then Vegas happened she should’ve listened to Marisol Lewis her best friend she knew something bad would happen but she was so desperate she gambled all her money her parents saved up.

She sat in a comer of the library it was getting crowded she needed out anyway just get out of here.

Jake had gone to Toronto University part time after high school, mostly for business and ways to improve his fathers construction business. He loved his life.
