‘I would have to follow up with you on that one’ a US Forest Service official says in response to congressman

Louie Gohmert is just asking questions.

Questions such as, could the US government possibly, maybe alter the Earth’s orbit around the sun? Wait, what?

Let’s back up a moment. The eyebrow-raising question came during a House Natural Resources Committee hearing on Tuesday. The Texas Republican congressman pointed to the United States Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) working to combat the climate crisis before asking about a rather novel way to address the warming planet, something he has argued in the past is actually a good thing.

Pride exists because of a black, bisexual trans woman, who was a sex worker, that threw a brick at a cop and started a riot against the state.

Don't lose this month in rainbow capitalism and unabashed racism because of the privilege of being white while queer.

If you aren't supporting queer people of color, trans women, and queer sex workers, you aren't celebrating pride, you are celebrating rainbow capitalism and police brutality.

Sanda Dia was raised in an area of Antwerp, Belgium and moved to Leuven, Belgium to study at one of the country's top universities, KU Leuven. In 2018 he decided to pledge for a fraternity there called Reuzengom, consisting of white children of the elite from Antwerp. In the history of this fraternity, there has only been other 1 black member, who has spoken about racial slurs being a form of "humor", to which he could not object against.

Sanda decided to pledge to this fraternity to increase his network and potential professional success, knowing that being black in such a racist and xenophobic country did not play in his favour. During the hazing ritual among which there were 2 other members, both white and not pushed to the same extreme as him, he died.

The hours before his death were gruesome. He was forced to drink uncanny amounts of alcohol and not allowed to recuperate or rehydrate in this time. He was also forced to drink, fish oil, get peed on, and sit in an ice-bath for hours on end at night in december. At the time of his death, his body temperature was as low as 27 degrees celsius.

In light of this, KU Leuven did not punish the students in the fraternity, saying only should continue classes online and making them write an essay about the situation. More-so, Reuzengom members deleted as much evidence as possible from all chats and discussions to clean their slate. Thankfully, pertinent information was later recovered by the police.

It's now been two and a half years since his death, and the lawyers on the side of Reuzengom are continually calling for postponements of the case's handlings as a means of sparing themselves. Today on 07/06/2021, one of their lawyers called for a postponement of the case, arguing that the court was biased in Sanda's favor.

Everyone involved in the fraternity should be brought to justice for committing such a horrific racially motivated murder. I just want to ask as many people to reblog this as possible so it can gain the attention it deserves and that Sanda and his family can finally get the justice they deserve.

White people are always saying "stop blaming me for what my ancestors did".

Well, it's very simple. If you don't want to be blamed for what your ancestors did, then stop having the exact same beliefs that your ancestors used to justify what they did.

That means stop worshipping the police.

That means stop supporting the prison system.

That means stop being more angry about protests against injustices than about the injustices.

White people who don't have beliefs that were used to justify slavery are never blamed for slavery.

I was on twitter and a topic caught my eye and I think that while yes we had the whole BLM five seconds of fame not enough is being done and we still need to speak up so I'm bringing this here. I just read an interview by Candice Patton (Iris, The Flash) where she explained that she had to pay to get her own hair done in LA. Now this might not seem like a big deal but it is because she shoots The Flash in Vancouver, Canada and the reason why she has to do this is because there is simply not any hair stylists on set available who can deal with black hair/who she feels comfortable with doing her hair.

EVENTUALLY they decided to repay her for the costs but ONLY if she had her hair done in Vancouver where her preferred hair stylists was not available. So rather than hire hair stylists that were capable of styling black hair the CW told her that she has to make do with the ones available in Canada. If you're not enraged by this you should be because this is completely UNACCEPTABLE!

This is also NOT the first time we are hearing this from a WOC from the CW as Vanessa Morgan spoke about this too in the tweet above and she has also called out Riverdale for side lining its POC other times as well.

And there are MANY other instances where we have black woman speaking out about the unfair treatment they have had to face at the workplace. How is it fair that these women have to go out of their way to find proper hairstylists that KNOW how to treat their hair for a show that has NUMEROUS stylists for their white counterparts both male and female ????

Imagine while they sit in dread before going on a movie/tv show set hoping that the people in hair and makeup will know at least a LITTLE bit on how to deal with their hair before going on camera for thousands if not millions of people to see them while all their white co stars only have to worry about getting there on time and doing their job (which btw, there are also stories of woc having to reach on set hours before their call time because they would have to do their OWN hair before shooting actually started)

Something needs to be done. This is not okay. Enough is Enough. When these BIPOC speak up your job is to listen and let them be heard. We need to stand up for them especially our women because for instances like these they are clearly being ignored. Hold the CW and other networks accountable.
