The tears of the world are a constant quantity. For each one who begins to weep, somewhere else another stops. The same is true of the laugh.

There are places worth going to because, sometimes, they can heal your soul.
Perfectionism is a self-destructive and addictive belief system that fuels this primary thought: If I look perfect, live perfect, and work perfect, I can avoid or minimize criticism, blame and ridicule, the painful feelings of shame, judgment, and blame. All perfectionism is, is the 20-ton shield that we carry around hoping that it will keep us from being hurt.

NEDA Awareness Before and After!!
I never do this sort of thing but it’s eating disorder awareness week and I’m posting a before and after photo to show all my progress in recovery! You can really see the light in my eyes! So happy!
My favourite type of progress pic 😂
I woke up in a bit of a panic this morning after having a food/binging dream. I haven't had one is so long, and I have definitely not missed them - such a horrible way to start the day.
You may mess up, but you’re not a mess up.
You may make a mistake, but you are not a mistake.
You may screw up, but you are not a screw up.
You may fail, but you are not a failure.
You are not your downfalls.
Watching 'GPs: Behind Closed Doors' and this was an actual conversation between a GP and patient with depression/anxiety:
Doctor: It will get better... Patient: I've heard that so many times before D: Well, it will get better if you want to to get better. Do you actually want it to get better???
Way to perpetuate the myth that mental illness is a choice 🤦🏻♀️
On another note, it astounds me how many people say 'they'll try anything' and don't have any qualms about starting/increasing medication, but absolutely refuse any therapy. I'm absolutely an advocate for meds if needed (and have taken them myself) but if you're not willing to deal with the underlying issues then it's probably not going solve the problem.
