“ Oh. Well um, I still sleep with the lights on. ”

“For what? It was my fault for taking out the knife and making such threats.”

“ Thanks... ” Piper was surprised by the person’s kindness, even after she was so rude to him. “I’m apologize,  for my rudeness. ”

“ I once brought a dragon back to life with only my words. I’m not going to hurt you, because that’s not who I am. But don’t you ever ever underestimate my powers and what I can do.

“ Uh, this is a katoptris, the dagger that belonged to Helen of Troy. It can show you images of the future, but they’re not always so great”

“ What? Because I’m a girl? ”

Surprised the girl’s sudden question Piper stuttered “B-b-black?”

“ Nowhere’s really truly safe. Trouble’s always bound to happen, but I guess for now it’s safe. ”

“Thank you.” Piper muttered to the girl.

“ I think I can Annabeth and Thalia to make a blue cake for you, it’ll be fun.” Piper gave him a cheeky smile. “ I don’t really consider it a blessing, it’s just helpful I guess. I try not to use it too much, or I’ll come off as a spoiled brat or something.” She rolled her eyes and scoffed. “Well everybody already think I am.”

Piper screamed internally as she held up her knife. “Look you don’t know what you’re holding, and I don’t want to hurt you. Please can I have my dagger back?”

“ You never when something’s going to show up.” Piper bit her lip as she muttered to herself. “Something like a cyclops.”

Piper’s breath caught in her throat as she looked at the person in front of her. “ Who are you? ”

“ The reflection of the blade, it can show you thing. Terrible things.”

[katoptrix]

“ Thank you, I’m just a bit hot-tempered sometimes.” Piper smiled lightly. “I’m Piper, and you are?”

“ You’d bring a knife to lost and found? “ Piper scoffed then rolled her eyes. “ Well now that the owner is here, I’m going to need that back.”
